Drunken Noodles

Like a crisp breeze on a warm summer night, across its brief runtime Drunken Noodles evokes a gay, metropolitan ennui that could be dismissed as trite musings if not for director Lucio Castro’s deft hand behind the camera, both with his frame and his performers.

Among other things, “Drunken Noodles” is a rich and often thrilling trip into writer/director Lucio Castro’s personal understanding of how queer romance, sexual pleasure, and mind-expanding art can only flourish when we have enough room and receptivity to feel that everything inside us is either naturally or instinctively related.

Drunken Noodles is at its best when it drifts into flights of fancy that subvert expectations.
