Part throwback, part update and a little bit creaky, it’s all-in-all an excellent showcase of Izzard’s wonderful talents.

At 90 minutes, one could hardly fault "Doctor Jekyll" for being languorous. But it's often too patient for its own good, content to slow-roll its inevitable outcome without giving us much to chew on besides Izzard and some cornflakes.

Doctor Jekyll is a mediocre film that tries to innovate rather than rely on the classic story, but it fails to find the right narrative. The disappointing part is that it’s a film unworthy of Eddie Izzard's performance. Her acting is exquisite, despite the weak storyline.
