The strength of Burger’s movie is the fact that a non-reader of Roth’s work can enjoy Divergent and not be confused by any aspect of the storyline.

A sequel needs to hit the ground running faster than Divergent does. Find more notes for Woodley's elegantly plain face to express.

It was really good i liked it, different and unusual. I loved Shailene Woodleys performance in this film.

I can only say that I loved watching this movie, along with my family, and it caught our attention. Thanks to the production team, for all the moments of pleasure created.
In short, against critics, I and my family have been excited about this movie!

Loyal to the novel, but welcoming enough for newbies, Divergent does a decent if not jawdropping job of bringing its dystopian world to life.

This society makes no sense except as a metaphor. The social layout of Divergent was supposedly devised so as to maintain peace, but putting people into airtight factions guarantees conflict.

The film transcends the déjà vu of its borrowed trappings but ironically sacrifices all momentum in favor of a long series of physical tests.

Too bad this would-be heir, Divergent, is so unimaginative and bland.

In all candor, and with all the amity I can muster, Divergent is as dauntingly dumb as it is dauntingly long.

I read all the books to this series then watched the movies expecting more Hollywood to be in it then the book itself. However, when I watched the movie I was blown away. The movie was a lot like the book, but not entirely. Which is still good. The actors were perfect for their roles, they played them very well. I say 2 thumbs up to this movie!!!

Film that presents a particular, interesting and effective story with a setting that enriches the film. The plot also presents new characteristics, without the classic ending but concluding with dark tones that leave room for the future sequel

A new world order type of movie. With 5 different factions. It was an ok movie but we only really learn about 2 of the factions really in this movie. What about the other 3. It would have been nice if we could see all 5 factions and how they lived and came about but instead you only know 2. So what's the point of even having the other ones in the movie pointless.

The cast is good and the acting isn’t bad but since I haven’t read the novels I can only assume there was serious errors in the screenwriting/adaption. Or the novels were terrible. It’s completely predictable and the sci-fi aspect of it is so basic and not really thought through at all it’s just ends up being meh. It’s truly on the CW level of creative work and not the high end CW (not saying much).

Divergent is a rip-off of both The Hunger Games and Harry Potter. Horribly written, and a bad story makes Divergent forgivable and boring. The acting is decent and it has it's moments but Divergent is still a **** movie.
