In her debut theatrical performance, Cabello is charming and handles the script, particularly the throwaway lines that lovingly mock the genre, with aplomb.

Writer-director Kay Cannon’s new Cinderella isn’t bad, and Camila Cabello makes a rather personable lead, carrying off some of the movie’s generous helping of funny lines.

A feminist recasting of the familiar story is welcome, of course, but the screenplay focuses so insistently on its female-empowering message that it feels at times like we’re just getting hit over the head with it.

Among the countless iterations the story has weathered through the ages, this Cinderella (streaming on Amazon), starring Camila Cabello as the orphaned maiden, is forgettable. It is oddly transfixing, though, as a study in the semiotics of the modernized fairy tale.

The classic fairy tale and its straightforward but powerful lessons in self-confidence, perseverance and the power of imagination provide an alluring foundation for ambitious and visually stunning storytelling. It’s sad that, watching this version, you wouldn’t be able to tell.

Cinderella fails spectacularly on just about every level.

I hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this movie. Hated it. Hated every simpering stupid vacant audience-insulting moment of it. There. That just about sums it up.

Also the fact that this brilliant fantasy marvel was supposed to bring back feeling of nostalgia in the time it was at it's prime instead of brought us deal with it kind of vibe, it hurts to say despite all the humor laughter and stars featured in the movie i could say my opinions on the movie would indicate I'm mad at the audacity of imagining to trespass the threshold of making a double of the movie but here i laughed at a few scenes so that's that i believe a real mindset aimed at the very best reconstruction of this movie will be initiated so I'll wait, so with that said am not for or against the movie.

Revisions to the original story makes the writing a cringe fest. The original story of Cinderella takes a backseat to a not-so-subtle social commentary on the injustice towards women in a bygone era. The classic evil characters are retconned into misunderstood victims of the patriarchy. Original donut-steel characters are inserted for no discernable purpose other than to fulfill diversity quota checkboxes. Every woman is strong and independent, every man is the butt of a joke. You can tell the script was written and reviewed by people who live on twitter. Giving it a 6 because the costuming and performances were decent enough.

It means well, but this is executed in such a simplistic way, targeting a demographic that gets its entertainment from Tik Tok.

Cinderella is film from which one I know everything what was trying to be . Because of that I lowered my standards before watching it but still I didnt like this film at all. Sure this movie has some good acting and some songs were nicely acted and shown but story and characters were so cringy and annoying that I was bored for most of time. Camilla did fine acting job but nothing great . Rest of cast was annoying except some rear cases where some where funny at some points. Story was not interesting to me since I saw different versions of it including Selena Gomez one... So this film was just not right pick to me.
