There ARE times when Aloha doesn’t work — and yet I’m recommending it for its sometimes loony sense of wonder, its trippy spirituality, its brilliant cast and because I seem to be a sap for even the Cameron Crowe movies almost nobody else likes.

It gives me no pleasure to report that Aloha is still a mess, a handful of stories struggling for a unifying tone.

Great movie. Beautiful, heartwarming, and engaging, well-written characters with great chemistry, well acted, quirky and memorable.

It was very good. Not sure what everyone is complaining about. There were about 2 scenes that were a little cliche and 1 scene that was maybe poorly directed/not fully believable, but everything else was good and there multiple VERY GOOD scenes, funny, and interesting. As per the Hawaii stuff, Hollywood has been whitewashing Hawaii forever, so I am not going to punish this film for that, because its a good film. I just saw "From Here To Eternity" which also takes place on Hawaii with army guys on base and pretty much does the SAME EXACT THING with the subject matter of Hawii as its similar in some of the themes but yet that is considered a classic all time, but people are just complaining because this movie came out now. For white people on a base in Hawii, it might be like that, that may be their experience. The point of the movie is not to be a documentary about how great Hawaii is. It was a pretty funny, and well done romantic comedy, a little weird, but I like that, and thats Cameron Crowe. It was good.

After a while, the film's sing-a-song-for-the-world vibe, so buoyantly optimistic at first, becomes grating and smug.

All three sides of the love triangle are appealing, and the movie as a whole might have been winning if it weren’t for the absurdist style that was clearly dear to the filmmaker’s heart. Sometimes Aloha reminded me of John Huston’s cheerfully unfathomable “Beat the Devil.” More often than not, though, it left me yearning for simplicity and sweet clarity.

Crowe can be a great storyteller, a terrific director whose characters make us believe in them and in what they're doing. That doesn't happen in Aloha, which famously means hello and goodbye. Stick with the latter definition here.

Whimsy's hard, honestly motivated romance is harder, and when you get both of those things wrong in the same movie, the result is almost too much to take.

Somewhere on the incoherent pu pu platter that is Cameron Crowe’s Aloha, a nifty romantic comedy congeals and shrivels, inexplicably untouched.

Aloha is a beautiful mess with Crowe's fantasy dialogue, the cast is wonderful but some how the film screws it up. Brian Gilcrest (Bradley Cooper) a military contractor gets a second chance, trying not screw up like he did last time, so he returns to Honolulu Hawaii to go to a US space program with his watchdog (Emma Stone). Gilcrest tries to get back together with his ex-girlfriend Tracy (Rachel McAdams) she is married and has children also she is dealing with her silent husband Woody (John Krasinki) whom he is jealous of Brian. The film has some issues like how I am not buying that Stone and Cooper have chemistry, it’s a little clichéd that we know Brian and Tracy have feelings for each other and they try to get back together but then it’s not going to happen because the husband loves her and Gilcrest still loves his watchdog Allison a dumb love triangle that just is terrible in movies. Bill Murray was wasted in the film; he looks bored and has nothing to do in the movie. Writer-director Cameron Crowe manages to screw up the cast and not mentioning Crowe’s insubstantial writing, the romance in the film is not that strong. Bradley Cooper’s performance was perfect, his portrayal as this character was charming. Some of the performances were awesome it’s just Crowe’s script that feels like it’s written by a child. The film is spot on. The problem with the film is it has unnecessary scenes for example the Hawaiian tradition scenes; they were beautiful though sometimes it will take people who are watching this film out of the moment. The film is charming the supporting cast was great to maybe the characters needed some works. Grade B+ (... a high B+)

Não é um filme que ficou muito marcado pra mim. Não consegui me conectar tanto com a história e, mesmo tendo bons atores no elenco, não me prendeu como eu esperava.

Aloha is an ok movie. The scenary in Aloha is filmed in Hawaii which makes the movie beautiful. Aloha has an all star cast like, Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone and Rachel Mcadams. This movie has no plot and has nothing to offer us accept beautiful shots of Hawaii.

Under the strictest eyes this is not a disposable movie because its attempt is to be a feel good movie and under those precepts it is, but taking into account its director and its cast this movie is a real disappointment. Cameron Crowe seems to have lost his compass and returns with a film that does not have any distinction or style to define it or make it memorable.

The talented cast and the great setting of Hawaii are wasted on a story that is neither dramatic nor funny. Above all, it just isn't interesting. The script was a mess.
