Well, that was one huge epic adventure. Nothing to complain about here - music is great, visuals are astonishing, characters and their interactions are always interesting to contemplate, gaming mechanics are fun to utilize.

My absolute favourite game of all time. Was the case when it came out on the Wii, still the case with this remastered edition

This is my first time playing a game from the Xenoblade series. The story is incredible and really keeps you hooked. Plus, so many of the characters are unique and truly memorable."

I was really looking forward to the game, but I felt nothing aside from disappointment and frustration. The battles are absolutely dumb and pointless; it's just pressing the same buttons combination hundreds of times. The lore looks—I'm sorry—idiotic. The story (which was praised so much) is absolutely ludicrous. It feels like: 'Oh no, it's this way! Oh no, it's that way! Oh no, we are changing the plot again!' There is zero consistency in the story, and it just doesn't make any sense to me. The soundtrack was the only good thing about this title.

An incredible remake of an already excellent game. The story, characters, soundtrack, world building, and serious moments make this one of the best Nintendo RPGs or RPGs in general. This is a pretty long game with many missions, side quests, and character relationships to tend to. The battles are fun and engaging, and because of the story you fight with a purpose. Overall an excellent RPG and a must play for fans of the genre.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is one of those games that doesn't try to please everyone, and perhaps that's why it remains so memorable and debated. It is ambitious, excessive in certain aspects, and strictly faithful to a vision of the JRPG that doesn't always click with every player. And yet, it has something that pushes you to keep **** a personal level, I enjoyed the game more for its world, music, story, and technical execution than for the combat itself, which never quite won me over due to its real-time auto-attack approach. Still, I recognize it’s a well-designed system with plenty of depth for those who know how (and want) to master it.Xenoblade is neither a "comfortable" nor a light title. It’s long, demanding time, patience, and a certain willingness to play by its rules. But if you connect with its premise, its epic tone, and that quintessentially Japanese way of telling a story that ramps up until it borders on the divine, the experience can be truly special. It's not a perfect JRPG, nor does it pretend to be. It’s a game with personality, with very clear strengths and equally visible flaws. And precisely because of that, for better or worse, it’s impossible to play it and remain indifferent.

Una de las historias mejor contadas que he podido vivir. Rico en lore, personajes y un gameplay que realmente me hace pensar que todos los juegos de ROL deberían tener el mismo. Sorpresa tras otra. Un videojuego sin igual.

My least favorite of the trilogy honestly, which i know is a hot take, but I just didn't connect with the characters and the narrative quite as hard on this game as the other 2. The music is as beautiful as ever along with the environment and graphics, still a top tier game from monolith soft

One of the most captivating stories in the Nintendo Switch era, it has many components and executes most of them flawlessly. Music? Top notch. Characters? Top notch. Easily a game you can sink many hours into (DISCLAIMER: SIDE QUESTS AND LEVELLING CAN BE EXCESSIVE)

Still one the best RPG game. Only issue with Definitive is it plays the Gaur Plains music as you near the area instead of the WONDERFUL timing of it starting as you walk thru the cliff and hit the open area.

Peak Fiction, My favourite game of all time and just a monumental piece of Video Gaming History. One of the Most heartfelt story's and narratives, delivered with strong emotions and one of the most iconic OST's ever. Its a timeless masterpiece that I can't believe was developed on the WII in the 2000's. The combat system can feel a bit dated, but its honestly very Iconic.

Overall, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition lives up to its name. The changes are almost universally for the better by taking an excellent game and smoothing out the faults, flaws, and weak points while providing additional content. Considering Xenoblade Chronicles was one of the best JRPGs of the last console generation , this improves upon an already outstanding title. Story, world building and music were amazing.

I haven't played this game in five years and coming back to it has been a treat. Back then I didn't really know what I was looking for in a game, but now that I have a more defined idea of what I like I wanted to give Xenoblade Chronicles another go around to see if I loved it as much as I did five years ago. Xenoblade Chronicles is a game dripping with beauty around every corner, and it makes me so incredibly happy. I especially liked the Nopon Forest and the High Entia Lake which are just so fun. I love how homey some areas feel even in a post-apocalyptic war torn war; they are often so pretty that the war gets forgotten. The story is very very good and I love how it interacts with all of the characters. Sharla, Melia and Shulk were all standout characters this time around, but above all else I really wish that Riki got a bit more screentime. It is so interesting to me that the oldest member of the group is a Nopon and especially how wise he can be while also being as Nopon as they get. I absolutely loved the main villain and the simplicity of the events that made him become they way he is; I loved all of the villains almost as much they are a very fun group. I didn't really mess with Alvis the first time around but I've really come around to love him and his relationship with Shulk. The combat could definitely be better, but I kinda liked it. There's something soothing to me about chipping away at a giant healthbar. There is a bit of complexity with a lot of moves doing more damage depending on how you're positioned in relation to the enemy, but it doesn't matter too too much. The side quests would be alright in any other game, but I think they work pretty well here. I like taking a stroll around and doing a bunch of tiny things for different people, especially when I have the affinity chart to look and and see just how many people I've helped along the way. That being said there are definitely a bit too many, but I don't think its that big of an issue. Xenoblade Chronicles will always hold a special place in my heart for showing me just how beautiful the world can be, and on top of that for just being a really solid package. There are a few problems, but none of which I feel drags the game down too much and the things that it does right really hit. I wish I could articulate just how much I love this game a bit better, but that's alright.

Such agreate game. The remaster is good. It's a Wii game with new clothes. I know a lot of people don't like the battle gameplay, but I like. Finally, the story. I know, xeno series are similar and the story are the best thing of them. In this game, for sure, the story is awesome! I can't give more details, but its story makes you think about the existence and the universe.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, has to be one of the best games I've ever played period. The extravagant and beautiful story that has some of the most brilliant comedic elements sewn through it. The story honestly has changed my perception of the world, the ongoing themes of Fate Vs. Free Will and the questioning of 'Is there really a God?' has immensely impacted the way I view the world. The characters however are what really make the story shine, and you find yourself to love all of them (especially Reyn and Riki) and all their quirks. But when something happens to them you feel it yourself, it transports you to the world of Xenoblade. You're experiencing the situations yourself. The continual plot twists every time you think you've beaten the ultimate enemy, only cease to highlight the perfection that is the story and immersion of this masterpiece ****. The only thing that makes this not a perfect game is the difficulty scaling, I found it extremely hard to win any battles (I know this is a skill issue). So much so, that I had to bruise my ego and turn on casual mode however,I'm grateful this option existed because it let me to easily access the perfection that this game is. I urge you, if you're on the fence like I was prior to purchasing. Bite the bullet and buy it, I promise you won't regret it.

Beautiful game in environment design, story, etc. One of my favorite games of all time, really. Even if I never played the original on Wii or 3ds, not that it matters since the Definitive Edition is just that, the Definitive way to experience the game. While this game isn't my favorite in the series since I believe the games that would come after in the series surpassed it in terms of quality, it's far from the worst. The story is one of the best I've ever seen in a video game, only surpassed by Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for me. Pacing feels great, but the characters, with the exception of the protagonist, Shulk, can come off as dull or uninteresting. They have depth, just not as much as characters in the other games. Regardless, the story culminates into something that feels deserved with only a couple loose ends that are explored in its Extra Story, unique to this version of the game, named Future Connected. Overall, my only minor three gripes with this game is that there's a large difficulty spike near the end of the game (so do those side quests), there is a LOT of missable content and the combat, after playing the other games, can feel too simple. Though that last one is no fault of this game itself, it just shows how good the series really is. About Future Connected. It probably wouldn't be a stretch to call it the worst game in the series. That said, it isn't bad. Its story is rather weak but has its moments, gameplay is mostly the same as the base game with one notable change. Chain Attacks are replaced with "Union Strikes" which are one big strike as opposed to many different strikes that Chain Attacks had. Overall, Future Connected felt more like an afterthought than anything, and can be skipped storywise.

I do love this game, but it is absolutely not a masterpiece. The music, world, and narrative are outstanding. However, combat in this game is very frustrating. I like it in general, but some mechanics and systems make it less enjoyable to play. In the end, I played through it for the story and nothing more. Future Connected was, in my opinion, also largely uninteresting. Out of all the Xenoblade games, definitely the one I enjoyed the least. But don't get me wrong—it’s still a fantastic game that is worth playing for any JRPG fan.

It's good, but not THAT good. First, as much as I love it being set on the body of a titan... It's a really hard sell when you're actually in the game. The environments you go through very often hardly look like the actual limb of the titan, whatever scale you look at. Creates dissonance that kinda pulls you out of it... For a JRPG, that is a fatal flaw.

It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to play this game given the mind numbingly stupid decision to not allow players to abandon missions that they've accepted, but that they're not ready for. I've requested a refund for this pile of garbage, considering my save is now trapped in a mission I can't complete and yet was never warned about. It's not like they tell you ahead of time either, they just give a level recommendation that tends to be WILDLY lower than what you actually need to finish whatever mission you've picked up. When it suddenly puts an enemy group in front of you that's literally impossible to beat at the level the quest recommended, oh whoops! YOU HAVE TO FINISH THE MISSION ANYWAYS. YOU'RE LITERALLY BLOCKED FROM DOING ANYTHING ELSE UNTIL YOU DO.....Deleted this piece of trash and requested a refund It's literally unplayable. Do not buy this garbage.

I just finished Xenoblade Chronicles. First of all, undoubtedly this game is a masterpiece and a classic for all lovers of the genre. In my opinion the game fails to maintain that state of continuous Climax but it is not a big problem in the end; the game lasts a long time so it is natural that there are alternating parts but one thing that I did not appreciate very much was this sustenance in having to play highly avoidable parts of the gameplay that brought boredom to the player. Even certain areas were frustrating not only because of the Enemies that filled the entire area but also the Useless objective, made only to drag out the broth. As already said however, certain problems in my opinion are immediately calmed by the moments of the plot, which is interesting and very original in certain aspects, a plot that rightly makes all the characters evolve particularly. One thing I appreciated was precisely this, that the game was able to highlight even the most ignored characters, it is difficult to hate someone on Xenoblade since everyone is put under this "Evolutionary Process". It would be useless to continue wasting words on this, for a game like this only facts count and if someone does not believe my words they can try Xenoblade Chronicles in person and I speak to you as a man who was not too fond of it initially

A labor of love towards one of the best JRPGs ever made. Xenoblade Chronicles already featured an incredible soundtrack, art direction, story and gameplay also featuring a massive amount of sidequests. Now, with definitive edition, the graphics pushes the switch to its limits and it's a pleasure to look at. But the most impressive work has been done with a ton of UI and UX fixes and enhancements that make the game better than we could ever have hoped. Furthermore, it's now present a challenge mode and an original epilogue (future connected), very refreshing and fun to play after the original game.

Great Remaster of my favorite game of all time. I got caught right from the beginning till the end. Some of the best world building, characters, soundtracks and plot twists and a great battle and progression system make this game an absolute masterpiece in my opinion. Never a dull moment in the story. The only game ever, where i finished its story and immediately started a new game, where i completed everything.

One of my first JRPG's and i've played through this game many times and it still amazes me that this was originally a Wii game. Its story and unique playstyle make the game good. In my opinion everybody should play this game at least once if your into longer games.

I love this game the atmosphere surrounding you with the music blasting in my ear gives me this sense of freedom that I can't seem to find anywhere else. The story is dark which I love. The combat could use some work though it feels a little bland and emotionless.

A boring, overly tedious, and generally underused battlesystem ruins an otherwise good story. The battle system tries so hard to be "MMO but single player!" and forgot to make the party AI more competent than a bag of kittens taking on a tsunami. Specifically it took the typical "rogue" class and built an entire combat system around it. Where you stand matters, and you'll usually have multiple moves requiring you stand to the side or behind an enemy. They're doing this too, and the AI pathfinding is truly a miracle in incompetence. You could set most longer battles to yakety sax, watching you and the enemies dance around each other. Idk if your party members even try to position correctly; you usually can't tell what's going on in combat bc the screen will become cluttered (esp at the end when you're fighting several tall or large enemies). You can call out dynamic party commands such as "focus on my target" or "walk to me". With that I have exhausted all AI combat customizations. You can't dictate what HP level the healer should use her spells (...well, bullets) and therefore often ends up on cool down sooner than she should. You can choose who to control before battle but are locked in during: if you want to police the heals, expect combat efficiency to drop drastically. Most of the characters are useless in general, since you're usually going to have no choice but to use up two of three slots for a tank and a heal. It's usually easier and better to just let Shulk take up that third slot. There are two tanks but really only one healer for most of the game. There's also a gemcrafting side thing where your weapons and armor have slots for them. Most of the game this is useless and once it's necessary, you're drowning in useless crystals and one or two of the one you actually need. Again, the story IS good. But the combat feels like a dudebro who binges WoW and Mountain Dew created a combat system after a week with no sleep. And amphetamine. There's a silver lining though: I just saved some money in not having to buy either sequel. So there's that!

Personally one of the greatest JRPG’s that I have ever played. The story is immaculate, the characters are all but amazing and relatable, the world is vast and brimmed with life. The soundtrack is superb, I would always be humming along whether I’m exploring or fighting enemies. The gameplay is unique and has some issues, but as long as you take your time and learn the mechanics, you will be alright. I highly recommend it!

"Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition" is an absolute gem that manages to blend an epic narrative with a deeply engaging gameplay experience. As someone who appreciates a good story, I found myself quickly drawn into the world of Bionis and Mechonis, where the inhabitants live on the bodies of two colossal titans. The game's world-building is nothing short of spectacular, with vast landscapes that are as beautiful as they are **** of the standout features for me was the combat system. It’s a real-time, action-based system that requires both strategy and quick reflexes. You control the main character, Shulk, and can switch between other party members, each with unique abilities. The ability to see and alter the future through Shulk’s visions adds a compelling twist, making battles more dynamic and **** characters are another highlight. Each one is well-developed and adds depth to the story. Shulk’s journey, driven by revenge and discovery, is captivating, and the relationships between the characters feel genuine and impactful. The voice acting, particularly the British cast, brings an additional layer of charm and authenticity to the narrative.Graphically, the Definitive Edition is a significant improvement over the original Wii release. The updated visuals are stunning, with more detailed character models and environments. The re-orchestrated soundtrack is also a treat, enhancing the emotional weight of key moments. However, the game isn’t without its flaws. The user interface can feel a bit cluttered, and managing quests sometimes becomes overwhelming due to the sheer number of them. Additionally, the pacing can be slow at times, with certain segments feeling a bit drawn out.Despite these minor issues, "Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition" is an incredible experience. It’s a game that offers a perfect blend of exploration, story, and combat. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer to the series, this definitive edition is a must-play. It’s a testament to the enduring appeal of the Xenoblade series and a reminder of how powerful and moving video game storytelling can be.
