One of the weaker Nintendo titles in recent memory for me. Looked interesting but it just did not stick with me. Many tracks are visually nice though and I like how different they all look. But in my opinion the gameplay is not very fun.

Certainly not a bad game, but massively overhyped in my opinion. Everything the game does, it does fine but nothing is outstanding. My takeaway after finishing it was that it feels like it took a little too much inspiration from NieR, and the result comes off as a cheap ripoff at a higher price tag. Enemy designs are pretty cool, but the combat leaves much to be desired. The open areas are fairly boring, and some of the indoor environments are obviously copy-pasted assets, which left me wanting more variation. That said, the more unique areas are quite visually striking and interesting to explore. The story is uninteresting and was my biggest disappointment. The game's strongest point is the soundtrack. Many songs are actually really good. Also, credit where credit's due, the PC port is really solid and runs very well. Ultimately, I appreciate a developer creating a game simply meant to be fun, without censorship or pushing agendas, as many studios seem to do nowadays. But honestly, a hot female protagonist alone shouldn't be enough to earn the universal praise this game has received. The game itself needs to be fantastic as well and here, unfortunately, the actual product is mediocre. I still had fun, and I can recommend playing it, but don’t go in expecting a masterpiece as some make it out to be.

It is not a terrible game by any means, just not as good as it should be. The freeroam is what I expected it to be. Pretty fun but perhaps a bit empty. The selection of tracks is pretty decent, not my favorite in the series, but very solid. However, the fundamental problem is that it seems like Nintendo does not want us to play these tracks. The latest update made it so that, more often than not, you're forced to play the intermission between tracks. This would be fine if you played three laps afterward but you don't. You drive to the track, do one lap, and then it’s done. It’s a shame, because otherwise the game is fun. The one thing the game absolutely nails is the soundtrack fantastic remixes of a wide range of recognizable tracks from different Mario games. I do have fun playing this, but it is absolutely not worth the asking price. Nintendo could make a few small changes and it would be a much better game. Right now, however, Mario Kart 8 is a better option at a lower asking price.

I absolutely love this game. I have over 200 hours in it, and it really is special to me. However, the developers have added more and more content while at the same time introducing just as many bugs, then simply decided they were finished and left the game in a broken state six years after release. It is such a shame because, except for that, it really is a special game. If you can tolerate some annoying bugs, the game is really worth playing. They nail the feeling of small Swedish towns and the countryside. That, combined with the robot aesthetic, solid world-building, and atmosphere, just makes this game a joy to play—when it works as intended.

What the first game lacked in combat and exploration, this game more than makes up for. The world is simply stunning, especially considering the hardware, and the Skells make exploration much more engaging. While the combat system is similar to the first title, it feels significantly better, and I enjoyed it much more. However, where the first game excels is in its narrative, unfortunately that aspect is lacking here. The story and characters are largely uninteresting compared to the other games in the series. Not horrible, but they definitely do not hold up to the usual high Xenoblade standard. In the end, I would say I enjoy this game and the first equally. both have their strengths and weaknesses.

I really did give this game a chance and I wanted to like it but after 50 hours i'm dropping it. Genuinely, how is this game so praised? They took my biggest issue with Remake and doubled down, making it worse. The amount of pointless filler is ridiculous. I find the story interesting and love the cast of characters, but the amount of generic open-world gameplay and mini-games really drags down the experience for me. What doesn't help either is a problematic PC port and pretty underwhelming graphics. The geometric detail is good, but the lighting is horrendous in many areas and only fine in others. On top of this the image quality is ruined by horrible temporal anti-aliasing. I genuinely believe that this game would have a worse rating if it were not associated with Final Fantasy 7. It feels like a large amount of the positive reception is just nostalgia from players who have played the original. I haven't played the original, but I will probably do so due to its shorter runtime covering the same story.

I don't even know where to start, honestly. This is such a good game, one of the best I have played in a very long time and confidently in my top 10 games of all time. I had high expectations for this release, but it somehow managed to be everything that I wanted it to be and more. The story, music, characters, and gameplay are nothing short of fantastic. The fact that a team this small put out a game that is far better, more creative, and more polished than any other recent big studio release really says a lot about the current state of the industry. And they asked for 50 euros for their game, while larger studios want 70 or soon even 80 euros for generic, reused game formulas. I have a single negative point, and that is Unreal Engine 5. Thankfully, it's still much more polished than some other recent releases, and my game did not have stuttering issues, but some other Unreal problems persist. Most of the game is without issues, but some areas show the typical Lumen lighting problems very clearly, with ghosting and artifacting. If it weren't for these issues it would have been a 10 / 10. All in all, I cannot put into words what an experience this game is. Just after the opening, I was hooked, and that feeling persisted throughout the entire playthrough. This will be my game of the year for sure.

The best Xenoblade game—I absolutely loved this one. While I do miss the concept of exploring giant Titans, the world of this game is still absolutely stunning. As usual, by Xenoblade standards, the story and music are the highlights, but the rest of the game is incredibly good as well. My favorite combat in the series with tons of flexibility for different builds and teams. By far the prettiest game as well, but as with all other titles in this franchise, it is still hurt by the low render resolution. However, it is significantly better than the previous games in terms of visual clarity.

My first introduction to the Xenoblade franchise—a fun cast of characters, an amazing story, enjoyable combat, and a super cool world to explore. It is such a good game. Compared to the first game, I enjoy it much more in basically every aspect. My issues with it however are small inconveniences that I find annoying. The way you gather new Blades, for example, with loot box-like mechanics, was weird. Also, some odd progression requirements in some later chapters. The game is also held back by the Switch hardware, and while super impressive for this console, it does still look quite blurry as the rendering resolution is very low.

I do love this game, but it is absolutely not a masterpiece. The music, world, and narrative are outstanding. However, combat in this game is very frustrating. I like it in general, but some mechanics and systems make it less enjoyable to play. In the end, I played through it for the story and nothing more. Future Connected was, in my opinion, also largely uninteresting. Out of all the Xenoblade games, definitely the one I enjoyed the least. But don't get me wrong—it’s still a fantastic game that is worth playing for any JRPG fan.

Such a boring game. The story is terrible, with mostly boring characters. The gameplay itself is lackluster and the same gameplay loop we now expect from Ubisoft games. Also, microtransactions in a paid single-player game are unacceptable. Skip this one, even on sale.

A sequel that is just as good as its predecessor. It offers more of the Mario Galaxy we love, with equally fun levels, great music, and graphics that still hold up to this day.

This is still one of the best games I have ever played. Maybe it's the nostalgia, or maybe it really is that good, but I have completed this game countless times, and I love it so much. It has aged so well, still looks beautiful, and is so incredibly fun to play. The music is phenomenal—some of the best in the industry even to this day.
