I paid over 150 dollars and I cannot play as the wrestlers that I want. Some are locked behind the battle pass. This battle pass costs time or money to unlock tiers. I would need to pay 50 dollars to unlock the wrestler I want there. The other wrestler is locked behind my faction card packs. That is gambling combined with waiting for 2k to decide to make the card available to unlock. There is a challenge right now to unlock a wrestler I want, but I need a card that I literally cannot unlock in order to play the challenge for the wrestler. The graphics are not too great. The versions of the characters are inconsistent with what they actually looked like. For example Shawn Michaels has a picture from 2005 as his 1998 version. Kane has two sleeves in his 1998 version. The creators did not know much about the wrestlers and did not care to find out. When wrestling the mechanics are off. The camera angles are bad during tag matches, the tag partners will block the characters. The wrestlers get stuck doing animations. The frame rates drop and players outfits become blurry. It’s just not finished. A lot of arenas and characters are locked behind showcase mode also. I do not like CM Punk. I do not want to play showcase mode. I could go on but this is unacceptable enough for you to understand. This is a poorly executed game.

The Game Is The Best Wrestling Game Of All Time And Gm Mode Is Goated Better Than SVR Series

Gameplay is fine Universe mode is mostly untouched other then a promo system with no texts or voice over. Island and faction modes are just to extract money from consumers. My rise has cringy dialogues.

Although the gameplay is fun at it has been since 2k22 The locked content in stuff like the island and my faction ruins the experience as I don't want to grind nonsense matches for a 2011 Kofi Kingston or whatever Plus the servers are still awful

Every time a new WWE 2K game comes out, it's always the same and great. But there's a lot that needs to be added, and it's mandatory. It feels like the game is stuck, but it could be made to feel like reality. So, not only is it a game, but players can experience the feel of the ring firsthand.

Gameplay is very solid. Showcase mode is really interesting but it can be very frustrating if you want to clear all objectives. Online modes are awful, random cards and lot of grind. And the worst thing is that half of wrestlers are locked and you can purchase them with currency that is so tedious to grind that it's really ridiculous. Creations are as always really great. So it's a solid title but I don't see a point of releasing this game on a year basis.

I liked the gameplay but the my rise was pretty mediocre there is two much intergender match its not realistic and i dont like the replay idea just make a longer my rise with all the payperview and a couple of run for different title

The game is good, but the character system without being that rectangle with several at the same time is ****... It's missing and also many are blocked and you have to buy them with DLC or in-game currency. It takes forever. It's ridiculous to pay a lot for a game and then get this ****

Showcase mode needs to go ASAP or else they ain't getting any more of my money. Whichever devs decided on the money in the bank showcase match this year, all I can say is f you for wasting my time.

PLEASE DONT BUY THE GAME it’s unbelievably unrealistic and trash and glitchy and filled with micro transactions and is a wast of money every year if you really need to get it get it during Black Friday or something or just don’t buy it because the more people buy the game the more comfortable they get putting out this trash every year. Btw there also terrible at listening to there fans and they promote game modes and features as “NEW FEATURES” when it was already in the game put they took it out a few years ago. The only good the about the game is the decently priced dlc packs, $10 is still bad but compared to other games it’s not that bad, I don’t know if I can cuss on here but F*CK WWE2k

tbh at this point wwe should pull the game license from 2k from the wwe games for good between the missing matches and wrestlerslike jimmy snuka and rocky johnson (yes i know there past is trouble but history is history and they are important to the Samoan wrestling history) to odd choices like the island the same dated career mode in myrise no big improvements to my universe mode and a wwe themed casino aka myfactions also other problems odd dlc choices like ksi in a prime bottle and nba players to even messing up titantrons its a no go and tbh if this is what wwe 2k26 then its wallet closed from me untill they drop the bs stuff listed above... Not the best WWE game ever but at least they find the way up again. The DLC is to overpriced but the base game is overall good.

The worst My Rise version ever, character creation was shallow and the worst of the bunch. The story was horrible, with horrible match types and nothing to keep you hooked. The visuals were decent but not enough to recommend this game.

It can be a 10 but the game doesn't had titantron videos like 2k24 and also the game still crash when you delete the outfits this problem had since wwe 2k24.

Absolutely a cash grab with a pretty coat of paint. Rehashed for years. Even having sat out the last two years, this is instantly boring. Showcase is phoned in and the whole concept is tired. The ONE THING which COULD HAVE been entertaining is MyFaction, but even that is stripped of any possible enjoyment with an obscene difficulty spike and downright insulting pay wall. Add to that the unnecessary inclusion of stupid DLC inclusions over actual wrestlers (who wants wrestlers in their wrestling game anyway, right?) and the whole experience quickly reveals itself to be a dud. I'm angry enough and feel stupid enough for having thought 2k25 would have been different that I can confidently say this is the absolute last time this company gets my money. Zero fan service.

I say it’s showcase mode is not as bad as 22-24 and it’s more repayable after 16 since 19 except the ending I never cared so much. DAlso in My rise mode you candecidewhen to change who to play as male or female in one try. Despite some of the time limited objectives being annoying to me. Also need to remove on download creations sign in option to be more useable. Also I don’t care about Myfaction mode since that’s not for me.

A digital manifestation of avarice. This game promised but never delivers and continues to push the boundaries of greed by increasing the price of My Faction card packs. There has been at least 3 increases with the latest jumping from 12,700 to 15,100. Considering 150mfp is the average you can earn in a singles match this is absolute garbage. So what about the game well, It's just about functional. Collision detection is atrocious and grabs seem to only work when the wrestler is in the exact position required. There is no movement in this, such as when a wrestler is getting up, and if you try to grab early you will give the opponent an advantage. The Island is a terrible idea. A sort of story mode with minimum effort and lots of real world spending opportunities. We have been duped when it came to the dlc too. The first pack of 5 wrestlers only contained 4 and no release date for the mystery 5th wrestler has been given. 2K have form for this, in a prior year a wrestler was removed because of legal reasons and no real alternative was given. Overall the attitude of the WWE and 2K games has soured this experience. It is pro greed. It's not fun, it's not what WWE games once were. Bring back the days of Smackdown Vs Raw.

This game is the best game I think that has released since 2k19 with the returning features like promos and open challenges and chain wrestling easily the most fun i have had with a sports game since 2020 or 2021 2k though always knock it out of the park with there games overall 10/10

I have played the game long enough to make a proper review. I got it on March 7th as I pre-ordered the Bloodline Edition. The gameplay/wrestling itself is absolutely incredible on this one. I think it is really the best it has been in years. The chain wrestling being back really helps it as well as matches can start in a realistic way again which just sets the tone for the rest of a match. The ringside area gives us more to interact with now with the addition of barricade diving and even the PRIME Hydration Station. The LED boards can also be broken. This game just feels so smooth and fluid too. The roster is huge and really probably the best we have ever had. The graphics are the best they have ever been. Intergender wrestling making a comeback here is big too and gives the player even more freedom as we can now create some big dream matches that we would never see otherwise. MyRise feels so much better this year and the storyline is fun with plenty of twists to keep you hooked. It does kinda **** that we have to play it several times just to unlock everything but it's short and fun enough to not be too much of an annoyance. Showcase Mode is way better on here too with them getting rid of the Slingshot Technology and giving us actual in-game cutscenes instead. I prefer seeing everything recreated rather than watching real footage that I could watch on Peacock, Netflix, YouTube or just about anywhere else if I really wanted to. The blood is great again as well but now, the wrestlers will show more body damage with bruising, welts and scratches showing up on their bodies. It makes those hard hitting matches feel much more realistic like for example.. GUNTHER vs. Dragunov. The backstage areas are fun too, especially the WWE Archive area as we can now climb the SmackDown fist for the first time since SmackDown! Shut Your Mouth and do diving attacks and even grapple attacks from up there. The Underground and Bloodline Rules matches are fun additions. Special Ref being more than just one on one this year is great too. The Island is really the biggest problem with this game. It requires WAY too much VC or money to be spent and while fun to explore.. it just feels like there's something missing. It is a rather big area but also feels small at the same time. I feel like if it makes a comeback next year then they should definitely at least add even more areas to explore and maybe make it easier to unlock things. I think the clothing parts you unlock in The Island should be usable outside of the mode as well. Universe Mode is still missing so much but this year it does feel better than it has in a long time regardless. The promo system making a comeback and them allowing us to do 2 night WrestleManias and stuff like that at least gives it something and it does feel more like a breath of fresh air compared to how it felt in previous years. GM Mode is definitely better this year too with us now being able to play it online with friends but I still just don't care about it. Overall, 2K25 is a great wrestling game and easily the best in years. It is without a doubt the biggest wrestling game of all time with all of the new and returning additions. Is it the greatest of all time? No but, 2K have definitely got these games to a point where they feel like they are actually starting to match the fun of the old PS2 & PS3/Xbox 360 classics. This is easily the most fun I've had with a wrestling game since 2K14. 2K25 is truly fantastic and the gameplay/wrestling itself is arguably the best it has ever been.

I actually like a lot of this game (and I'm still not done exploring)... BUT something is SO frustrating and bad that I must rate this game poorly and hopefully get developer's attention: TIMED challenges are TERRIBLE and NOT FUN. Showcase is NOT FUN. A game should be fun. What's more, I bought the Bloodline package and I STILL have to grind to unlock wrestlers????!! I paid top dollars to avoid having to waste my time. And F*CK the The Island and the constant leeching of money off players.

I've never had less fun creating things in a WWE game than in WWE 2K25. That alone is a dealbreaker for me. The creation suite—once a cornerstone of the franchise—is now frustrating, clunky, and stifles creativity at every turn. Creating superstars, arenas, entrances, and championships feels more like a chore than an outlet for imagination. WWE 2K19 not only had a better creation suite, but the created wrestlers also looked miles better. For a fanbase built around customization and fantasy booking, it’s disheartening to see these tools regress. It's clear the focus of the series has shifted—from fostering creativity and replayability to squeezing money out of players while delivering an unfinished, buggy mess because they know people will just buy the same game with minimal updates and an updated roster every year. And I don't say that lightly. That said, the gameplay itself isn’t bad. I lean more toward simulation-style wrestling, and once I adjusted the sliders, the matches felt better. Playing as the default roster can be fun, and Bloodline Rules matches in particular are a highlight—probably the best part of the game. Wargames is solid too. Universe Mode, my go-to for replayability and CAW storytelling, is basically the same as it has been for years. The only notable update is a cleaner UI. It still doesn’t feel like you’re running a show. Money in the Bank doesn’t work properly on PLEs due to it being locked behind Rivalry Actions, which don’t trigger there. The last time this mode felt truly alive was 2K19. Even WWE 12 had a more dynamic and unpredictable Universe Mode—with features like triple threat and handicap rivalries. Mind you that by this point, that game is nearly 15 years old. The fact that we’re still lacking basic things like show intros in 2025 is just sad, and bringing promos back and acting like it's the big new feature after we had it years ago is insulting. MyRise has some effort put into the storyline and branching choices, but there’s little incentive to replay after a few runs—aside from unlocking content that should be available via the SuperCharger like in past games. Instead, you’re locked into grinding through MyRise, Showcase, The Island, and MyFaction just to unlock things that used to be immediately accessible. Showcase Mode is actually decent this year. Timed objectives can be annoying, but not game-breaking. It's probably the most polished mode of the bunch. They actually did a great job at helping people relive one of the greatest storylines WWE ever had and also highlighting careers of various people in the Anoai family. MyFaction remains what it’s always been: a grind-heavy, microtransaction-focused mode that offers little VC for winning matches and expects you to either play hundreds of hours or spend real money on a game I've already spent seemingly a fortune on. The same goes for The Island. Visually it's cool, but it's a shallow, grindy experience. Most rewards are overpriced and not even customizable. Honestly, The Island of Relevancy is the perfect metaphor for this game: eye-catching at first glance, mildly fun in the beginning, but ultimately hollow, repetitive, and unsatisfying.

WWE 2k25 is literally a more realistic and complete version of WWE 2k24, especially regarding the accuracy of the characters, much more similar to the real ones. You can also notice a strong improvement in the physics of the fights and the introduction of new fighting mechanics and visuals (such as the third person) that give much more immersion in the gameplay

Good game with several new features compared to the previous one. I recommend it to anyone who likes this style of game.

Game is bad, so bad that i regret spending my money to buy it. I don't know why people think this is a good game when it is not. What is good about it was what was good in previous games, which is graphics. AI is harder somehow on easy mode. I am not sure if reversal AI works for universe mode. And i hate microtransactions. i knew this game who have mixed reviews but i wanted to give it a chance. Now i regret it. The only thing which is preventing me to play are those Ai countering every move i am doing no matter if i am playing on hard or easy mode.

Like the new additions this year though wish they had no.1 contender matches so it’s not automatic all the time in Universe mode.Really do enjoy the game though and feels more and more real and immersive every year. They need to start releasing more attires for superstars rather than giving us multiple old copies taking up more **** devs need to find people who can critically review the games before release because how can the same old things be glitched or broken every year? Otherwise I do enjoy the game so 8/10

6/10 - from a committed wrestling game fan who's been playing wrestling games for over 25 years. Keep in mind that newer fans/reviewers of the series may not understand how good and authentic the game was before WWE 2K20 (not to mention the pre-2K game from THQ) and that many official review sites, including IGN, are paid to give the game a high score. Now, for serious fans of the franchise who have been playing this series for a long while, I would not recommend this year's entry at full price - wait until it goes on sale if you really need your annual fix of like so many of us who struggle with 2K's BS continue to buy/play it in hope of a "new" experience. The truth is, 2K25's core gameplay is mostly identical to that of 2K24 and there aren't enough new or slightly revised enjoyable features to justify the full price of any of its 3 editions. Bugs and glitches are still everywhere and their servers are still broken, just to name a few problems that plague this year's release. 2K's scheme is obvious: profit via microtransactions through The Island mode (on console) and myFaction mode while they neglect the rest of the game. Why wouldn't they? They don't have any actual wrestling video game competition to make them improve the product and they are making more than enough money on what is at best a mediocre game. I believe that it should be illegal to release a broken product on a yearly basis and charge so much $$$ for it. They, along with certain other game publishers, should be held to account for this crime. Unfortunately, fans who know all of this continue to blindly buy and pre-order the game instead of speaking with their wallet: don't pre-order it, don't buy it at launch until it goes on sale, or don't purchase it at all so that 2K finally wakes up. I bought 2K25 as my final benefit of the doubt and I will probably ask for a refund soon. BUT if you're new to these games, it's a very decent wrestling game to jump into,. I would wait for a sale, but if you're a casual player who simply wants to enjoy some wrestling action then go for the standard edition. Also, if you're mostly a fan of wrestlers from a long while back, such as those in the Ruthless Aggression era or Attitude Era, or even from way before then, there are quite a few wrestling legends to keep you entertained, whether you want to play solo or with a friend/family member (offline). Just don't expect to get blown away. With all that said, if you want to know what honest and unpaid critics who understand these games think about WWE 2K25, then avoid the top review sites like IGN and GameSpot or popular 2K-affiliated YouTubers and instead look around YouTube for less popular reviewers (those with less subs) and check them out.

Mid game for mid people who grow watching WWE want to wrestle but cant cus they have health problem.

Improvements from last year but still feels backwards and taking the wrong steps back especially with the island being added and my faction still being a game mode

Island mode is just a scummy money grab. Online pvp is a complete joke when theres irreversible moves that you wont get a reversal prompt nor be able to avoid. Corner grapple is still broken and dodge frames make no sense at times. Never buy anything 2k makes. They have ruined gaming on everything they touch.

So many ways to play and customize I had a hard time walking away from the game. Universe mode is at its best and flows smoothly with lots of fun options. MyRise was pretty good this year but not mind blowing. I did enjoy grinding for better stats and unlockable characters in the Live matches. The Island is pretty good but moves literally and story wise kinda slowly. Getting those first ten matches or so was exciting. Best WWE game of the last four years by far.

This game is a steaming pile of garbage. The greedy developers are charging $70 for a game that is pretty much the same as the last one. The developers heavily advertised The Island, which is nothing more than a gimmick that gets old fast. How about they spend time actually improving the gameplay, instead of coming up with gimmicks. There's nothing to do in the island, it's boring and buggy. The developers were too cheap and lazy to give us proper cutscenes for the island, so it's just text-based and live-action cutscenes. MyRise has actual cutscenes, but the facial animations are laughable. The voice acting is terrible. The story appeals to neckbeards who love to watch midgets do flips. How dare these developers brag about having up to 50 players in that stupid island, and yet they can't even add a 50-man Royal Rumble. I don't want to go shopping for Jordans in a wrestling game, I just want to punch wrestlers. Even if I did want to go shopping, the in-game apparel is too expensive. So instead of wasting resources on that second life bullcrap, how about spending it on something better, like having up to 10 wrestlers in 1 ring. The hair physics are a joke. ● 2K keeps boasting about this game having over 300 wrestlers to choose from, as if that's a good thing. That number doesn't mean squat when notable wrestlers like Brock Lesnar and Goldberg are missing. We all know who John Cena is, but as I scroll right below him, there is some guy named Johnny Gargano. Who the hell is that? Brock Lesnar alone is worth more than 20 no-name wrestlers like him, and I would happily replace them for Brock. And no, I am not about to download an off-brand Brock Lesnar from the community creations. Let's face it, most of us buy these games for the legends and creations, not random nobodies like Johnny Gonorrhea. Speaking of Gonorrhea, Diarrhea Ripley and Bianca Impaired once again have higher ratings than Hulk Hogan. If you were to go to an NFL game and ask those in attendance who Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair are, you'd be lucky to find at least 10% of people who've heard of them, but they all know who Hulk Hogan is. This is like giving Teddy Bridgewater a higher rating than Tom Brady, it's pathetic. Show Hogan some respect. ● The multiplayer is awful and I've been disconnected multiple times. The showcase mode is the worst one yet. Come on now, The Rock's family is not good enough to get their own showcase. Even the devs agree with me, considering that most of the matches are "what if" scenarios where they change and create history. And why the hell did they add that to a showcase? That's the whole point of Universe mode, stupid. Showcase should only be based on actual history. Even then, I ain't trying to play as a bunch of, nevermind, people will think I'm disrespecting the dead. If you know, you know. I'm not done ranting about Hulk Hogan's rating. "It's not that big of a deal" Hell yeah it is. No one reading this right now would care about wrestling today if it weren't for that man. A legend like that shouldn't be rated lower than 2 random women. Imagine an alternate universe without Hogan, this game would have a GameMill logo on the cover instead of a 2K one. Speaking of which, Roman Reigns has a cringeworthy face on the cover of this game. This made me remove the cover paper off the game case and rip it into pieces. I don't recommend this game at all.

Gameplay is great and love the new additions like being able to do finishers off the top of the ladder and using the barricade. Showcase is awesome and Paul Heyman's videos are really good. Lots of content to unlock. Intergender is my favorite new feature as I can finally make matches like Dom vs Rhea lol.

Best year for the franchise. Its everything I want in a wrestling simulation. Love WWE, love WWE 2K, love WWE 2K25 even more.
