Whipseey and the Lost Atlas
I experienced everything it had to offer within an hour, and even that brief time could have been cut down if not for some of the more punishing jumping sections. Whipseey is cute, colorful and easy to get into, but it isn’t much more than that.
If Kirby series could lay an egg, and you made an omelette with it, it would be Whipseey - a short breakfast that could use at least a bit more salt. It is an extremely tiny platformer with a few cheap deaths hidden around a corner, but still en enjoyable retro gaming hour for any fan of the old school.
Whipseey and the Lost Atlas looks great and I liked the retro inspired music, but it’s a short game. It also lacks exciting features and objectives to keep the player interested. Would be a good game for younger kids though.

I bought this game on sale for $1. It was simple, but enjoyable, and well worth the purchase. Gameplay was solid. Quest was short. It does blatantly rip off some well known platformers. A little more length and creativity would make this game even better.

A fun, albeit short game that leaves you craving more. But the time you spend playing is amazing! It's even fun to replay, and I'm hoping the bonus levels come soon. Good controls, design, and cute mascot. Love this game

Came across this gem over the holiday break. Fabulous design. My girlfriend and I had fun playing this together, and she NEVER plays games. Fingers crossed for a sequel.

I enjoyed Whipseey but I wish it had deeper gameplay mechanics and maybe some sort of progression system. Its bright, clean and not very expensive. Its a good one for trophy hunters, it has a fun trophy list to complete and does not overstay its welcome or become repetitive.

Ultimately, I’m not sure why Whipseey and the Lost Atlas exists. It does nothing new, and by looking so similar to such a recognizable video game character, it invites unflattering comparisons and almost sells you on a promise it doesn’t even attempt to live up to. While the backgrounds for the five stages do change, the platforming and boss fights are incredibly similar. To be certain, there are much more creative and worthwhile platformers on the eShop. The addition of “Lost Atlas” in the title attempts to add some mystery and intrigue to Whipseey, but even Kirby would spit this one out.

Whipseey and the Lost Atlas shows promise with its cute art style and nice soundtrack, but without longer levels or collectibles to encourage replay value, the minor annoyances that drag this game down are all the more apparent. If you have a few bucks to blow, you can try it out, but otherwise just stay away.

On paper Whipseey is a lovely tribute to the days of the Kirby games, but when the entire game is shorter than just the first world of Kirby's Adventure – which is already available as part of the Switch Online NES collection – we just can't recommend you spend your money on it. If this was a free demo teasing a full adventure we'd be demanding you play it, but if this is really all there is that's incredibly poor.

If Simon Belmont and Kirby had a baby, it would be this game. You travel through five breath-taking worlds and whip everything in sight, no mercy. A jewel in a sea of zircons. Incredible graphics, cute enemies, hip soundtrack. This game has it all.

The best way to review is begin to rap. And this game is anything but crap. Boy turns into a puff with a girthy whip. Swing over pits, careful not to trip. Colorful graphics, take me back to the past. Challenging bosses, yo I'm haven a blast. At five measly bucks, you can't go wrong. Did I mention that whip? it's super long. Propeller bounce, stomping on folks. Smashing eggs to slurp up the yolks.

This game took me back to the glory days of SNES platformers. You'll bop enemies, swing from your whip, use a propeller technique to style on folks. If you like cute graphics and are up to a fun challenge, this is the game for you. AND it's receiving free updates!

This showed up in my YouTube feed, and I'm glad it did. Haven't had so much fun with a platformer since Super Mario Odyssey. I saw a couple negative reviews, and I don't understand why. It's like you're paying for a burger, but getting a fat, plumpy sirloin steak!

Got this on the Switch and gotta say the game is fire. I'm being 100 with you. I hope Whipseey comes to Smash, so I can BBC pipe people with that slick whip.
