Vampire's Fall: Origins
Vampire’s Fall: Origins is a huge game filled with quests galore that will keep you busy for hours. Performance issues should have been resolved but overall do not detract from a fun RPG made by fans for fans.
Clearly made by gamers with a strong affection for the 2D RPGs of old, Vampire's Fall: Origins surpasses the standard of typical mobile games and delivers a solid experience that manages to stand on its own two feet. For gamers who want a value-for-money RPG and who can abide the lack of bells and whistles, look no further than this bargain bloodletter.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with homages. Vampire’s Fall is a little on the nose with its love of Diablo at times, but there’s a lot of merit to Diablo, and a turn-based open world RPG with that aesthetic and tone is certainly worth paying attention to. It’s just unfortunate that the developers were unable to elevate this beyond being a shallow grind, with more misfired attempts at humour than a narrative that’s actually worth following. Vampire’s Fall is lengthy and content-rich, but it will be quickly forgotten.

Knowing this game was adapted from it's mobile roots means there's a few things that didn't translate over to the console version. The game is decent enough, it gives you a great big map to explore and gives you the opportunity to customize your character as you see fit. The usual RPG quests of fetch item A or kill 5 of animal B are here and there are plenty of towns and NPCs to chat to. Once you beat the main quest, there's a second quest and the flow of the game sputters and doesn't have the same pull as the first half of the game. Instead you find yourself mostly wandering around with growing less of a challenge as your character becomes stronger and stronger, maxing out on the upgrades.
