Total War: Three Kingdoms - A World Betrayed is another fascinating addition to the main campaign for those who are still obsessed with this wonderful strategy title. Adding an important part of the story, and introducing some fan-favourite characters and scenarios, The Creative Assembly has once again vindicated this DLC approach. The new faction mechanics for Lu Bu and Sun Ce give an additional strategic dimension, and as with the previous DLC, the existing characters have new situations in this warring China, meaning there is an added incentive to replay the campaign with them numerous times over. This is a no brainer for owners of the game to buy this addition.

A World Betrayed is an essential DLC for Three Kingdoms. It provides impressive combat gameplay on every aspect of Lu Bu and Sun Ce, from individual to troops strength - it is worth enjoying.

While A World Betrayed is not as expansive as Mandate of Heaven’s prequel expansion, it adds two new factions that play completely different from any other in the game so far. If you love 3K and could use a more novel experience on your next playthrough, definitely give A World Betrayed a try.

Although there are some questionable mechanics and odd issues on the side, Total War: Three Kingdoms - A World Betrayed manages to excite and challenge you, all while adding refreshing features via a free update. If you only need to choose one Total War: Three Kingdoms DLC, A World Betrayed definitely surpasses Mandate of Heaven and Eight Princes.

A World Betrayed is the last expansion for Total War: Three Kingdoms, a nice addition for the players who are looking for a real challenge.

While the starring wayward sons of A World Betrayed offer flavourful and dynamic new campaigns, neither quite manages to leave the shadow of the dramatically different playstyles in the Mandate of Heaven DLC.

A World Betrayed is a decent DLC offering for Total War: Three Kingdoms, offering some interesting new content. However, it doesn't seem to quite land as sweetly as previous DLC.
