Game is made too easy for any joe to pick up and play, reduced actual skill required, online just consists of endless rallies until the other opponents stamina is drained so then your player makes a mistake despite you making a perfect hit.

It had been years since I last played a tennis game, and I really enjoyed it. The game doesn’t offer much beyond a career mode and online matches, but the gameplay with the controller in hand is spot on. Practicing the best serves to land Aces is incredibly satisfying, and the game is "beautiful" for a tennis title. All in all, it’s a nice dose of nostalgia.

Man... You can't even get into the game without a 3rd party scam account. This is against my standards so I never actually got to play it. Waste of money.

The principal mode of the game have numerous errors of conception. And it's obvious that the company made the progression son slow wanted to force the players to buy coins with real money.

It's very simple, any game that demands you create a profile and enter your information before allowing you to play anything, should receive a 0/10. This behaviour needs to stop.

TopSpin 2K25 It doesn’t add anything in terms of gameplay compared to TopSpin 4. After all these years I was expecting a great return to the series, but I was unpleasantly disappointed. The tennis players present in the game are very few and missing the greatest athletes like Djokovic and Nadal. The career mode is done badly, with the possibility of playing only one tournament a month, making it impossible to defend the points of the last season.

Awful gameplay and headache inducing. Makes you focus on the ball while controlling direction and positioning

Offline it makes fun for some hours but online its a disaster. Latency in an online tennis-game is simple a deadbringer, you have even less time to compensate that as in another sport in my opinion.

Roster is bleh, gameplay on harder difficulties just makes your player ****. You'll have a wide open court, hit a perfect shot aiming to the far corner and the ball will go to the middle of the court giving AI the ability to, not only return the ball, but put it ANYWHERE they want. This is especially obvious against pro players. They literally decide, before you press a button, if you'll win the point or not. I once played Coco for 5hours(resetting the game over and over) no matter what you do you'd lose. If you got up 40-0, somehow myplayer would just become unable to place the ball and eventually lose the game. EVERYTIME. Expert and Legendary isn't really about making the game more challenging, just making your player awful (no matter their stats) and the AI player a god(no matter their stats) Makes the game unbearable to play. I did play the game for 200hrs on hard. About 2 weeks on Expert and Legendary I realized you're just tied up goat in a hillbillies basement. And he's been real lonely....

Gameplay is fluid, but the game lacks depth. No interesting game modes and Career mode is lacking. Graphics belong to the PS4 era, and maybe the last year of the PS3 generation. Buy only if you are a tennis player, the gameplay feels good and that's the only positive thing about this game.

I never played topspin 4, so it didn't matter how 2k25 compare to it. I'm notvery deep into the game yet, but just for the fact they didn't include djok, I'd give 10 already. The past decade was rule by the boring and endless rallies, and I certainly don't want that in the game. And the fact, the first voice you hear in the game is John McEnroe, and there's a whole academy mode filled with McEnroe's instruction, that was crazy. I lost the first battle, and the voice of Mc comes up, it take great effort and strength to become a champion, and the pressure and take it all away, things like that. They were full of wisdom, and feels so special when it is John McEnroe who says these to you. It pratically made me want to enrol in Nadal's tennis school and actually become a professional player. Love the game!

My trust in 2K cannot get any lower than it has been for the past decade or so. They do not respect people who purchase their games. At least I have only trialled this game on Gamepass after initially being interested in the latest Top Spin installment but then seeing online that 2K are still up their old tricks. If you've ever a fan of the NBA 2K series, you'll know that somewhere around the time of NBA 2K13 they really began to monopolise virtual currency for the series, it became clear what their priority was... it was centered around greed. You pay full price for a video game, spend your hard earned money to receive an incomplete game. 2K aren't happy with you paying full price for a game, they want more. In recent times they've manipulated the gamer more than ever before to purchase virtual currency to get the most enjoyment from their games, the full experience I would say. They do not provide loyal fans with the ability to transfer their progress over from previous games and are quick to shut down the servers for the older games unsurprisingly. The virtual currency has been carried over to Top Spin 2K25. I know I'll be sticking with Top Spin 4 whenever I get the urge to have a few rallies on a tennis court. Even worse is that they have cheaped out on the roster, it's absolutely mediocre, particularly in this day and age, with all the money they have manipulated out of gamers, including a lot of children who do not know any better. What they offer is an absolute insult.Notable current and ex tennis stars that are absent include Djokovic, Nadal, Roddick, Borg, Becker, Ivanovic and Jankovic all who were in Top Spin 4. Other absentees include Venus Williams, Billie Jean King, Wawrinka, Del Potro, Tsonga, Cilic, Clijsters, Halep, Azarenka, a lot of the best of the new generation and other historic players pre-2010. I would expect the roster to be double the size at **** depth of the game also isn't next generation, it's very basic. We only have stats and basic skills to differentiate the player. I can play as a female tennis player against a male tennis on normal and not feel a realistic **** soundtrack is very safe, with a lot current songs that don't feel like they fit in a tennis game. I don't like any of the songs I've heard and I have a VERY diverse taste in **** theme for 2K in the last decade is that they do just enough to keep gamers hooked.PositivesThe gameplay is fluid and improvement on past games in the series. I enjoyed it.Crisp graphics. I don't think believe every game needs ultra realistic graphics, especially at the expense of gameplay. These are fine. While the roster is lacking, the players included are **** loading times are fine, the menus are solid and the game modes are about what you would expect.Going on 10 years that I haven't supported 2K since NBA 2K18 and it seems that will continue for a long while longer. Top Spin 2K25 is something to consider buying on sale a few years from now for a third of the price.

Account to play required? Yep Long unskipable videos? Yep Terrible last gen graphics? Sure Pop up ads to buy point? You bet Not a tennis fan but have liked some tennis games and played them for dozens of hours. This was boring in the first hour. Graphic glitches like looking at the awful player models were distracting. Making a career player, you have to pick one of the names for audio. And my name is in every other sports game. However, nothing close is in this one. But they do have some of the most obscure names I've ever seen. This is a very lazy effort overall.

Everyone has been waiting for 13 years so here are my thoughts. I feel like there should be a create a player for quick play because that's the biggest thing I want in terms of playing sports games outside MyCareer. And there should have been more options when creating a players because the customization options seems a bit too thin. There's also features missing. Gameplay wise, the game play very consistent. Performance is stable at a consistent rate and the gameplay systems is very smooth. So while it's not the perfect comeback after all those years. It's still a strong game and a great formation to build on for the series.

Topspin 2K25 is the game you’ve been waiting for… if you love playing tennis without any actual tennis players! It’s like they raided a random public park and grabbed whoever had a racket. And don’t even get me started on the gameplay—timing your shots feels less like a skill and more like a lottery. It’s so unpredictable, you might as well close your eyes and hope for the best. Serving? Oh, it’s like trying to thread a needle while riding a unicycle during an earthquake. Just touch that left stick and boom—instant disaster. Nothing says “fun” like repeatedly screwing up because the controls have the sensitivity of a caffeine-addicted squirrel. The whole experience is so rewarding… if by “rewarding” you mean “making you want to throw your controller through a window.”

TopSpin 2K25 is a great game that shows great promise for the franchise in the future. Whilst there have been a few kinks - server issue being the main one in my view. I truly believe this will be ironed out soon. Where I have found the most fun is playing couch co-op. Nothing beats a thrilling battle between friends and family members, it really shines in this area! Career mode is fun and fairly simplistic, but it's executed well! For someone looking to pick up and play a game for an hour at a time it's perfect.

This game is a huge steaming pile of garbage. The graphics are awful. The physics are trash. The trajectory in the ball physics are inaccurate. The character movement is too slow. Where is the Djokovic? Where is Nadal? How can these greedy developers not include two of the most iconic athletes in tennis? The developers were too cheap and greedy to include them. They should at least add celebrities to compensate for the absence of the tennis GOATS. PGA Tour 2K23 for example added Michael Jordan, Steph Curry and John Cena. Why can't I get them in this game? Or at the very least add courtside celebrities like in NBA 2K24, where they had artists like Diplo, Jack Harlow, 2 Chainz, Quavo and more. Those games were also by 2K, so there isn't a single freaking excuse as to why these cheapskates can't add celebrities. Not that I necessarily want celebs outside of tennis, but $70 is too expensive, they got to give me something. This game lacks content. Tiebreak is $30 and it has a larger roster with more venues. No stadium creator. ● The online multiplayer is awful and unbalanced. The matchmaking is a joke. The announcers can't even pronounce Maria Sharapova correctly. The hair, if you even want to call it that, looks so fake. Especially Sampras' hair, it literally looks like the head of an action figure. And speaking of Sampras and Sharapova, did they even get face scanned for this game? Their models have zero resemblance to them. The developers were too cheap and lazy for accurate models, so they were like "Well this Joe guy from our Mafia series looks like Sampras, so let's copy/paste him as Sampras and no one will know the difference" and as for Sharapova, she looks like that one lady (Ashley?) from the NBA 2K23 career mode. Yeah because all white people look the same, so 2K copied and pasted random white characters from their other games. That is unacceptable behavior. It wouldn't surprise me if Sweet Baby Inc were responsible for these inaccurate models. Online is required for career mode and other singleplayer modes. I don't recommend this game at all.

On retrouve le bon vieux gameplay, ce qui est sympa, mais le reste gâche tout. Matchmaking pourri, jeu en ligne qui lag, et mode carrière à dormir debout. Revendu au bout d'une semaine.

Immediate annoyance is having to sign in or sign up to 2k soon as you load up the game ! Why its a demo?? Of course to grab your marketing details! However the most frustrating part of this game is the reliance on the power bar! You spend practically all your time looking at it rather than focusing on the actual tennis game to ensure you hit the ball perfectly or as close to it as possible. Also, the cost of this game is way over priced. One good thing to come out of this experience was that there was a free demo available to try the game before wasting your money. I'll stick to AO Tennis thank you. Much more intuitive

Good gameplay that is challenging and fun. The rest of the game is dull. Career mode feels uninspired and boring with not much presentation. Playing against AI on high difficulty is like playing against a robot. They rarely make mistakes. It's not really fun. Online is fun and the connection is stable so far. But you need a 2k account to start the game at all and to be always online to even play the career mode or the other modes that supposed to be offline. There are so many players missing, but im sure 2k will release them each for 4,99. There are so many unnecessary microtransactions in this game. Feels like a typical cash grab to milk the gamers. Buy it on sale and don't support this cash grab methods by 2k.

Doesn't have the GOAT, Novak Djokovic. Why not have the greatest player of all time in the game. It's like having a bball game with everyone except for Michael Jordan. It's like having a soccer game without Lionel Messi.

Although the gameplay (what little there is) is absolutely fine for the most part, everything else brings it down. There is barely any customisation, a lack of game modes, an online-only campaign, dreadful graphics besides the courts (Andy Murray, is that really you...), an online mode where power supersedes everything else and constant server issues on 2K's part. I'm sick to death of games being released when they are not ready. It's about time these publishers were heavily punished financially when games aren't playable. It might eventually stop shareholders from pushing them out early if there's a higher risk. I'm a huge tennis fan, and when this game was announced, I was so excited, but I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone in its current state. You can tell little effort has gone into it, which is a massive disappointment.

On the positive side : The timing mechanic works good, and the stadiums look nice. On the negative side : Almost no stats, this is laughably bad! Player movement is bad, seems restricted and sometimes unresponsive. Ball physics are not good, certainly not true to life ... ball is very often JUST out, and when it is, it is like it floats differently. The career mode would be okay for a 1-man project, not this ... lazy ****! Tennis elbow has way better physics, and THAT is made by 1 man almost entirely, not the only aspect where it easily beats this game,

They did everything wrong with this game, not a single choice was made towards players' enjoyment. Always online even for single player career, so when servers are down you can't even play offline. Also, it's basically a Top Spin 4,5, core gameplay is fun but they past-copied everything from top spin 4 (a 10 yo game) e did some refinements. It's also a cross-gen game, which is ridiculous in 2024 for gaas game that are meant to be updated for years, because it means that in 2026, for example, they'll still have to update the game for ps4, which by that time is going to be 13 years old. Wait for a true next gen tennis game with no always online bs

Downloaded free trial, started the game and got a message to sign up to 2k to play. Left the game, clicked the trial version and selected delete. I never got a chance to try it out. A trial version should not require an account to try the game. Game is unplayable in its current state.

This feels like a huge missed opprtunity. The gameplay itself is actually quite good. But the career mode is really barebones and similar to something you would encounter in a sports game from the 00s. It dosent have any of the depth, immersion or narrative AAA sports games like NBA 2K, F1, FIFA, MLB the show etc has had for a while now. Its instead grindy with arbitrary and gamey mini-games and features such as fatigue. Add to that its lack of players and always online requirements even for single player career mode. Hopefully some of these things can be improved since the core gameplay is solid, but in its current state its hard to recommend, especially at asking price.

Despite my excitement to jump into the game I **** on the 29th, I hit a snag. It's been over 48 hours now, and I can't access any game modes because it's asking for an internet connection that's just not working. I've tried reaching out to customer service, but no ****'s a bummer to run into this roadblock, especially after dropping 75 bucks on the game. Still, I'm hopeful the developers will patch this up soon so we can all enjoy the game properly. Here's to hoping I can update my review with a more positive spin once this gets sorted!

Honestly, gameplay isn't really that good. I get that we don't really ever have good tennis games on console, and that Top Spin 4 is 13 years old, but the nostalgia shouldn't hide all of the games issues at launch.Obviously, outside the court, the absence of matchmaking with friends is a travesty, and so is the fact that match format is randomised every time you start an exhibition match online (crazy that the option to select a few filters does not even exist). On the court, if the gameplay base is solid, it is terribly outdated, and really akin to Top Spin 4 (which was great in 2011, not so much in 2024).Like in other 2K games (I know they only edit this Top Spin game), gameplay is heavily relying on animation, more so than timing in my opinion, and that limits the possibilities **** looking like real tennis. I feel like Tennis Elbow is 100x the game Top Spin is right now, only it is much more basic graphically, and therefore does not please the crowds (Full Ace Tennis is another example, but as for TE only available on PC). Players are slow to move, react to your stroke input, not really to your movement.Online, the games flaws look even worse, as matchmaking seems to favour the (not) bold, with powerful players like broken Sharapova being able to hit full power counters on any type of ball (lift, slice, both with perfect timings) and from any corner. Serve feels incredibly fast even at lower speeds, and the slow movement I mentioned makes it a guessing game every time, except on slow serves, for which you can pretty much just press the stroke button to return.Overall I'm hugely disappointed by the game at launch, leaving it a chance to redeem somewhat itself down the line (before the servers close in 2026 that is), and the pleasure of coming back to a franchise that was at its peak a decade ago quickly wore off.

Short and precise. I hope "2K" realize that now is 2024 year? Terrible game when you look how it looks in 2024, have small number of animations are there, how game lacks of modes, how they force you to play online, and how they want "to milk" our money. This is way out from AAA game, this is embarrassing for such a big company. They wanted money easy and fast.

This review is based in almost 2 hours of playtime on PS5.I started playing and somewhat it felt a copy of what 13 years ago was TopSpin 4.Almost the same gameplay (which is good, no doubt about it), the same lack of pro players, the same my career logic with slightly improved graphics but animations. I thought it was my memory playing tricks on me, so I turned on the PS3 and put in the TopSpin 4 **** guess what, is almost the same game.Maybe I didn't go deep into the new game, but if you ask me,if you have TopSpin4 there is no reason to invest on TopSpin 2k25. And that is a shame. It is like a year on year "fifa game", a couple of tweaks here and there but nothing really new. Wait 13 years for this lousy effort is disgusting.

As a hard core tennis fan that has played many tennis games across the board of all generations, where do I even begin with this game. To start off the actual on court gameplay rallies are great and hitting the ball feels impactful. It is basically a Top Spin 4 remake, which is fine like the old saying if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. They got a lot of venues which is good like all the Grand Slam Tournaments, all of the ATP 1000 Events, and many more beautiful stadiums. The presentation of them is accurate. But now lets get into the negatives as that is more important, graphics are easily a whole generation behind which isn’t a dealbreaker as gameplay is the key element but the fact that the game is heavily lacking in gameplay features and modes is beyond me. First off, some of the character models look embarrassing like Murray, Sampras, and Alcaraz as they look nothing like them in real life. Plus these grunting sounds that almost every player makes just sounds so off and is cringe. That has got to go and get fixed. Another thing is every player has only 2 outfits, 1 being their regular and the other all-white they should add more outfits per player in the game. This is more of a minor issue but the scoreboard interface within the match doesn’t look professional or realistic to me, in real life most of the time the scoreboard will show the players full name and country flag next to it. For example in this game when playing as Federer within the match it just shows FED and no country flag on the scoreboard it doesn’t look as nice. Biggest issue with this game is the lack of male athletes, sure this game has Roger Federer who is my all-time favorite tennis player but why doesn’t this game have Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Bjorn Bjorg, Jimmy Connors, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev? The list goes on and on, I don’t know what were they thinking. So many missed players. Take a look at Tennis World Tour 2 that game has a great roster despite the overall game not being so good. Also I should be able to challenge shots within matches not sure why this isn’t in the game, the AO Tennis video games have this feature. Also there is no offline tournaments to be played as the game forces you to play MyCareer but not everyone wants to do that. In MyCareer every trophy looks the same in every grand slam tournament if you win it, lazy development if you ask me, where is the passion put into that? All in all the game is a 7.5 out of 10 realistically but has so much more potential I do like the game the on court gameplay saves it but if they fix all these other issues within the game it can easily jump up in score. In the meantime if you’re looking for the best tennis games to play go back and play Mario Tennis for N64 for pure fun or Top Spin 4 as it still remains the goat for tennis simulation games. 2K and Hangar 13 if you are reading this take some notes.

2K did a wonderful job on TopSpin 2K25. The gameplay and overall feel of the game is incredible despite the lack of game modes. It is challenging at first, with timing and what shots to play, but very addicting once you find your rhythm.
