Speedy, stylish, and effortlessly flexible, Tokyo Xtreme Racer captures the raw spirit of street racing.

At its best, Tokyo Xtreme Racer delivers racing thrills like no other game will. Battling at high speeds while weaving through traffic gets the heart pounding. This new entry doesn't bring too much new to the table, but it never had to anyway. It's a solid modern conversion of old gameplay ideas.

Better than Forza Horizon 6
that game pretends to be a JDM Car Culture game meanwhile this TXR is made by people who know, respect and were part the culture
I dont understand why some people say its boring because you race in the highway, thats the point, its called Shutokou Battle for a reason but i wont attack people for they opinion♂️
either way amazing game

We really needed a simple racing game like this between a sea of boring sim racing games and boring racing festival **** feels a breath of fresh air playing this game.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer feels like an absolute blast from the past in terms of its gameplay mechanics, overall structure, and how it tells its campy story.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer is a modern arcade racer, for better or worse. Even with its unique depiction of races with its SP system, and Tokyo highway setting, the monotony quickly sinks in. Regardless, there is the promise of a fun racing game that is reminiscent of PS2-era grunge racing games. That potential can be reached with refinement and by valuing the player’s time. The usual mess **** made with the infamous UE5, featuring frankly ridiculous graphics compared to the demanding hardware requirements. Apart from the cars, the game world looks all the same and straight out of the PS2 era. Engine sounds are okay, but everything else is awful. The driving model is extremely arcade-like, with embarrassingly bad collisions against walls and other cars.
If you can get past that, there are plenty of typical Japanese cars, the tuning and visual customization aspects are quite well done, and the concept of highway battles is well executed — it really makes you want to challenge the next opponent.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer is not really a fun experience. I do not understand the hype behind PS2 era graphics. If I want Nostalgia I will just boot up my old PS2 or Nintendo. I am in my mid 40's and have played these games already. I want to experience what current technology is capable of. So this game is very boring because ALL you do is drive around doing head-to-head matches with randos back to back, one after the other. The city is boring, the races are boring, and the car customization is no where near as fun as Forza.

Joyless is the word I would use to describe Tokyo Xtreme Racer, a game I got back in early access with the idea of it just being a simply fun arcade racing experience. Sadly, while the "arcade" and "racing" parts were definitely there, it seems like they completely forgot the "fun" part. I wasn't able to get much time in this game before I simply put it down for good out of sheer boredom. In that time, I was able to engage with a bunch of races and a boss or two, and every single race felt like it was over before it even started. Maybe this game gets better after the first few hours, but if your game can't even keep the player engaged for the first few hours then you have a serious problem.
