The Dark Queen of Mortholme
And I love it, honestly. It made me feel like fighting. But god, if anything could convince you that, really, there are no new stories, then what better than a game that presents itself as subversion, and ends up in exactly the same place as everything else.
For those who enjoy an experience that delves into questions about life and purpose, as well as having access to some powerful attacks, The Dark Queen of Mortholme packs a punch. It may only be 20 minutes long, but this is worth experiencing for yourself.
The Dark Queen of Mortholme is a game unlike any other I’ve played. It has a great story and a loop system that kept me coming back until I got to the end.

A very interesting game that takes a new perspective from the view of the final boss. The game is unique and doesn't overstay its welcome, but at the same time, the scope of the game is small. Everything about the game was executed well, but I can't help but feel like this could just be a side mode in a more complete game. It's really strange how the game feels to play as you are most powerful at the beginning when the hero is at his weakest, and throughout, you become less and less powerful compared to the hero. I almost feels like you are watching another player (the hero) play the videogame. Overall, a creative concept that I would recommend to others. You can 100% the game in like 2 hours, so if you are looking for a quick game to play that shifts your perspective on gaming, then this is a great experience

I mean, it's fun for what it is. Playing as the queen feels very clunky, both in her initial and final boss phase. Gameplay isn't really that good. But let us be realistic here. This isn't a game for the gameplay, this is a game for the touching story and questions it asks about life. A part of me wishes there was a way to redeem the queen, but I understand that it would most likely feel cheap. Don't want to say more, just play the game. It is a good time.

SummaryYou are the final boss, the Dark Queen of Mortholme, unrivaled in power. A hero invades and is easily crushed. Yet, they keep returning. A short-form indie game about an unusual bond, perspectives, and the beauty of change.
