A very good try of a fantastic game, however was only able to be a good-great game. Pros: Good music, great artwork, very innovative combat mechanics, wide variety of characters and monsters, long game time, regularly updated, co-op mode, versus mode (coming soon) Cons: Repetitive music, (kinda) repetitive combat, too easy, (kinda) pay-to-win, no replay value (yet), farming based, can't be played offline. This is a beautifully designed game with a lot of fun and interesting combats. It has an okay-good story, the music is quite good, however there are only a couple of songs for the combats which start getting really boring and annoying after some time. They could've added some more songs. The combat mechanics is nothing like I've seen before so i was quite impressed with it. However, the combats get quite repetitive when there are no bosses around. The game, generally is really easy. I finished the campaign twice and there are very few levels that are actually challenging. It's not really a fully pay-to-win game. But your party has a stamina value, which you spend to enter combats. Stamina replenishes by 1 every 5 minutes, and combats take up to 20 stamina at the end of the game. This means you have to wait 100 minutes in order to enter a battle. You can of course use Energy points to fully restore your stamina, which is of course sold for real money. Basically if you want to play the game for 16 hours straight, you can't, if you're not willing to pay. Moreover, the characters you can have in your party (6 max) are categorized into rarities, mostly the rarer a character the stronger he/she is. You come across characters throughout the game and you can recruit new ones with the resources you gather in the game. However, in order to recruit the best characters, you mostly need to use ENERGY again of course, for which you need to pay. It is totally possible, actually even easy to finish the game without paying anything of course. But it is still frustrating to have to wait in order to play a game. As I stated before, the game is farming based. In order to make your characters stronger, you need to add jobs. In order to add jobs, you need some materials which drop from monsters. There are tons of different kinds of materials and you need to gather some specific amount of each of them to add a job to a characters. This means, you need to replay some battles over and over again to drop that specific item needed. The game is really easy. At least the campaign is really easy. I wish there was different difficulties or extra challenges, which they might add as it is a regularly updated game. They actually introduce some extra challenges from time to time, which I have to admit are really difficult, but they are only temporary unfortunately. Even though the game takes a really long time to finish (especially because you have to wait for your stamina to restore) it has no replay value as there is not much to do after the campaign is completed. Currently, online mode only consists of co-op where you can try defeating bosses with your friends or strangers, which is a nice touch. A versus mode for online has been on its way for a long time now, I don't know when that will be available. I'm pretty sure it will be REALLY fun to play this game against human opponents and I can't wait for that day to come. With a nice ranking system, this feature could make the game have an infinite replay value, and one of the top games out there. The game requires you to be online at all times so if you're looking for a game you wish to play on a plane or anywhere else with no internet connection, this game is not for you. All in all: As I said at the start, this is a really good game, but it could have been fantastic with some extra touches. If you're looking for a game where you enjoy building up characters, farming and battling using these characters, also enjoy a really innovative and fun combat mechanics this is a must have. However, if you are annoyed by the fact that you would have to wait long times in order to play the game, or hate farming for items doing the same things over and over again, or looking for a really challenging game that would take a lot of mind power and patience to solve, this game is not for you. One thing is certain, this game will consume a lot of your time.

Beware!!! This game, while fun, will steal your money if you pay for energy. Game crashed after spending over $300.00 and they wouldn't refund nor give me my account back NO MATTER what information I provided! They are scam artists who care NOTHING for their customers. You've been warned! I will never purchase another product by this conman of a company (Mistwalker) again.

Fantastic game for a mobile game. Great strategy mechanic that relies heavily on unit placement and type, you can continue to push yourself to make better and better moves, balancing against the complexity you think you can pull off in each turn. Already as I've played I've been finding new ways to extend the value of each turn with more elaborate moves. True gaming test: I started dreaming in Terra Battle format almost immediately. Free-to-play aspect works surprisingly well, I haven't felt severely limited. Battles are engaging enough that you've already started restoring some stamina while fighting a single battle. Daily challenges help you develop your characters and provide upgrade items, experience, coins, etc. Character collection and progression keeps you going, great art. Very nice strategic game, highly recommended.

I strongly recommend trying it, but do so knowing that as good as it is, it's all ultimately in service to the same basic principles every free social RPG runs on.

Sakaguchi still knows how to put up a great game, even if it's a mobile free-to-play. It's fresh and addictive, and it deserves an opportunity on your Android or iDevice.

This is a fantastic and fantastically addicting game. You build up your team of monsters and heroes, level them up, choose the skills you want to equip. Everything is fairly simple to figure out, and if you can't figure out where you get a certain item to level up one of your heroes there is a terrabattle wiki set up with all the answers! The score is superb as one would expect, but if you play 40+ hours like I have you end up playing on mute. Still, there are no songs that aren't worth a listen. The dialog can be cheesy in parts, but it hardly detracts from the overall experience. It's free and at no point do you actually have to pay anything unless you want to power level your characters or acquire many very quickly. There is no resource that you don't acquire for free over time. I'm currently training up my team for the final battle in the story, after that there are new boss monsters that are very difficult released every week or so, in rotation.

Great core game mechanic with that addicting Puzzle & Dragons style drag and bump in a grid setup. But you get to move around your characters, not just gems, in order to set up combo attacks. Difficulty ramps up pretty quickly and I faced my first challenge on Chapter 5, does it turn into a grind (or pay to win) from here? I'm not sure because it lowered my motivation. But it was great up until. The music is very modern Final Fantasy, because it's the same buy Uematsu doing the music. Kinda cheesy bombast, but hey.

it's ok.. even for a Strategy fan. After 20 min i'm bored and i just want to stop. i'm at chapter 4 and i can't play more than 30 min a day. Sometime i wonder why i'm playing it. If you want bonus you need to log in everyday. The game is free, but not for eveyone.

I expected some cool rpg game but instead I was left with the confusion of having to move around little squares to apply damage. And after each battle sequence random images pop up? Sorry just not my style of game.
