Terminator: Resistance - Complete Edition

It may be the same game as the 2019 release underneath, but this upgraded Complete Edition is well worth a look for both returning players and those new to it for the Annihilation Line story mode on its own. There are better shooters out there, but for a bit of AA-style fun, this is a solid choice.

This remaster boasts impressive technical upgrades, with high framerate and resolution, but the most impressive visuals are stylistic.

Terminator Resistance: Complete Edition is a love letter for fans of the Terminator franchise. While the game has its fair share of flaws and glitches, making it feel like more of an AA game; this by no means is a bad thing. The gameplay is fun and addicting and what the story adds to Terminator lore is well worth a playthrough for a fan or for those who are just looking for a solid shooter with a kick ass story.

An ever-so-slightly shabby single-player first-person shooter, Terminator: Resistance – Complete Edition still does right by the movies, delivering a decent slice of narrative, and robust action, to boot. Come with me if you want to be entertained for about 10-15 hours.

Those with an Xbox X/S who enjoyed the original game should expect much of the same on a new generation console, and nostalgia may be reason enough to pick it up; however, they shouldn't expect any enhancements or improvements from their original experience. Those who do own the digital copy of Terminator: Resistance on Xbox can get the game for a discounted price of $14.49 on the Microsoft Store. Ultimately, while Terminator: Resistance - Complete Edition does finally include all the DLC content fans of the game on Xbox wanted, it may have happened far too late after its initial release.

As a longtime Terminator Fan, I was hesitant to pick this up for Xbox One (it's since been upgraded to the Complete Edition by Teyon), as Terminator Games have been very hit-or-miss since the 90s (much more on the "miss" side). However, after playing Terminator: Resistance numerous times, I can tell you that Teyon "understood the assignment". Capturing the feel of the post-apocalyptic world shown in both of the first two films, Terminator: Resistance focuses on T1 & T2, ignoring everything that occurred after that (definitely a smart move). The action is not always break-neck or pulse-pounding, but it works well to balance the game and provide some needed pacing. While there are noticeably lip-syncing issues, it's not a deal breaker, and the attention to detail regarding the various Skynet robots and cyborgs you encounter along the way make the game tremendously enjoyable and, if you're a fan of the first two Terminator films, this game will be just what you're looking for.

The "Complete Edition" includes the "Annihilation Line" DLC as well as the "Infiltrator Mode" from the PS5's "Enhanced" edition. The base game itself was upgraded with improved graphics, a smoother framerate and faster loading times. If you're a big fan of the first "Terminator", then you'll enjoy this. "Resistance" plays out like an action-oriented "Fallout 3". Its story could've been told through a limited HBO Max series. And the "Infiltrator Mode" is an hour-long chapter in which you play as a T-800. In addition, "Annihilation Line" is a 5-hour DLC that ties into the "Future War" depicted in "The Terminator" and features Kyle Reese. Overall, I'd rate this with a 7.8 out of 10.

An und für sich spaßiger und kurzweiliger Shooter der mich zum Teil an die Stalker sowie Metro Spielereihe erinnerte. Altbackene Technik & zudem ein nicht ganz befriedigendesUpgrad und Crafting System. Shooter Mechanik ist jetzt auch nicht die aller beste. Für 6 € empfand ich das Spiel und die investierte Zeit ganz gut. Zum Hit wird des deswegen trotzdem nicht. Daher 7 von 10 Punkten.
