While it's great to finally see a Taiko reach Europe, it has some disappointing aspects, like sub-par motion controls that make you want to rely on standard controls, and a track listing that is decent, but misses many of the memorable Taiko tracks of recent years - some of which ended up on the PS4 version instead.

Taiko no Tatsujin is a title with a high quality gameplay, which suffers from the shortage of the famous Tatacon peripheral. This is easily the best way to play this game due to the kinesthetic it offers.

The Taiko saga comes to Nintendo Switch with a wide catalog of musical themes, consistent gameplay and mini games for more than one player. Unfortunately the delay when displaying the notes on the screen makes the product look bad.

Amazing rythm game, it's the best taiko game that has been released on console. Now we got rythm festival, which is a nice taiko game and it's the first taiko no tatsujin with a subscription that lets you play hundreds of songs... But it's so limited in the "fun side" of the game. This one in the other side has everything you need, god music selection, a lot of dlcs... I don't know why Bandai decided to delete it...

Taiko no Tatsujin always feel different when played as arcade, instead of played as switch game. Anyhow it is one of the popular rhythm games in Asia for decades.

The best rhythm game on Nintendo Switch, and one with a surprisingly fun party mode.

Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! is a dizzyingly weird but wonderful rhythm game that’s both easy to pick up but ever so tough to master. Those playing with the drum set will undoubtedly have the best time but even if you opt for its more traditional control scheme there’s still enough fun to be had making your way through the game’s unique song list or facing off against your friends in its party games.

While the various non-drum-controller control schemes aren't always optimal, the Switch version offers many nice options to pick from--and if you just want to play a couple of standard-difficulty songs with pals before competing in four-player noodle-slurping, motion controls prove to be plenty enjoyable. But if you've been longing for a quirky, enjoyable multiplayer music game, either version should scratch the itch quite nicely.

With added partygames Taiko no Tatsujin on Switch is significantly better than its PS4-sibling. Nonetheless the poor JoyCon controls stick out.

Great rhythm game with some very catchy songs. There are lots of difficulty options but you will need to buy the drums if you plan on playing above normal difficulties. Much better than the adventure pack versions.
I wouldn't bother buying any dlc. Most decent songs are included in the main game.

I think this game is cool, I got it for cheap which is also a plus. I just never got into it enough to play it for long, the song choices are also banger.

This game is a blast to play. I got it on sale, so I'm not complaining at all. But it's pretty tough to play at times. The motion controls with the joycons work, but not very well. It's virtually impossible to do 'well' playing like this considering the lack of responsiveness sometimes, the random double registers, etc. You can use buttons, but it's not as fun doing it that way. And honestly, I was under the impression that the experience would be much better with the drum... but even that method disappointed me. Is it better? Yes. It's still not as responsive as it should be, though. So to play the best version of this game, with the game + drum, be prepared to spend a bit more money than it's probably worth. Song selection is fine. There's catchy stuff in there, but it could be a lot better.
SummaryEnjoy the cult classic arcade rhythm game from Japan in the comfort of your own home! Play to the beat using your own drum with wide variety of new songs and challenge your friends to prove who has the best taiko skills. Use motion controls to enjoy Taiko like never before!
