It didn't simply meander to the finishing line, but stayed strong and surprising. Like the final part of "The Lord of the Rings," the completion of the journey of Hans and Kate deserves the highest marks.

While it’s still a pretty good adventure, it doesn’t have the same magic for me that "Syberia" did.

Even with it’s somewhat weaker story (in comparison to the original), Syberia II still managed to send a chill up my spine as the story closed.

In all honesty, this sequel isn't as good as the original but you can never again taste your first chocolate bar for the first time. It's still a lot of fun to take these characters on a quest of sorts. Graphically the game never ceases to take one's breath away.

While this sequel doesn't quite capture the ineffable magic of the original game, it's still a strong follow-up that easily surpasses many recent adventures.

The fact is, Syberia 2 doesn't top the first game. It starts out strong - Kate second-guesses her leap of faitih, yet perseveres to outwit a misogynistic monk - but there's just not enough narrative thrust to support a compelling second chapter in the story. [Apr 2004, p.71]

The bland formula of "talk to this person, get item, use item on piece of environment" makes it a mind-numbingly frustrating chore to advance to the next awe-inspiring work of Sokal's genius. [Apr 2004, p.109]

There's something almost magical about the Syberia games. Maybe it's the beautiful soundtrack, the gorgeous snowy landscapes, or the melancholic atmosphere, but they always leave me feeling strangely calm. This is a very slow-paced adventure, and I can definitely understand why some people might find it boring. Not a lot of exciting things happen, and the game is more interested in atmosphere and its journey than constant action or big twists. Some of the puzzles are also far too obtuse for my liking and can feel nearly impossible without a guide. The long walks through large areas occasionally make the pacing feel even slower.Despite its flaws, I found it to be another charming and atmospheric adventure that perfectly captures the unique vibe of the series.

This game was so boring after the first half, I forced myself to finish it. used the walkthrough so I would not have to waste time wandering around the dull environments and trial and error puzzles.

Pretty much the same issues as the first game but differently weighted. While the movement is slightly better, its reliance on it is even worse. A lot more back and forth in admittedly more interesting scenes. You'd think this would make the game slightly better, but no. The entire beginning is a detour from the story unraveling. There's an annoying and ugly seal-dog that you have to deal with and the puzzles are much worse. There's a climbing sequence that is turned into a puzzle without any visual cues. They made the game look slightly better but feel even ****'s so persistent on wasting your time that I don't know how people find it enjoyable.
