I wish I liked Slime-san more than I did, but the platforming is hampered for me severely by the confounding views combined with my dislike of the floatier controls and frustrating dash ability. [Issue #30 – November/December 2017, p. 23]
Slime-san is a fun and well designed platformer that exudes a retro style of ages gone by and whose varied content and lifespan are certain to keep players entertained for long periods of time, regardless of occasional controller difficulties.
Consistently surprising, challenging and delightful, Slime-san is totally worth a look.

There is a lot of content here, and I found this to be a decent time filler, but many of the basic platforming mechanics are kinda jank. For example, many of the objects you need to bounce off appear circular, but seem to have square collision boxes which send you flying at right angles if you're anywhere near the edge (or beyond an imperceptible line). Almost every mechanic used has been implemented in another platformer with better level design and less jank coding. The humour also was pretty off for me, and mostly felt like it was trying a little too hard to be self-referential and quirky, but I can imagine it works for some. Again, there is a LOT of content in this game. Mostly single screen levels with the occasional longer one. A mixed bag with some gems, some kinda broken levels, and some absolute stinkers. If you feel like relaxing with a long, slightly mediocre, but generally playable platformer, I recommend it. Just make sure you're feeling pretty calm/tolerant, because the unfair deaths due to poorly implemented mechanics can be pretty frustrating.

Happily going about his day, Slime-san is suddenly swallowed by a giant worm and has to escape before he is digested. Slime-San is a 2d platformer that utilises a simplistic, but fairly effective graphical style. Each level challenges the player to jump, slide and dash to avoid obstacles and reach the goal. Everything functions well enough, and the game provides a decent challenge, but there are many better examples of the genre and it wasn't able to retain my interest for more than a few hours.

Slime-san is a surprisingly refreshing twitch-based platformer that will put a smile on anyone’s face. Its sharp controls mixed with brutal but balanced difficulty, as well as some well-done pixelated graphics, makes Slime-san a must buy for anyone looking for some platforming goodness.

Looking for a fast-paced, patience-testing, platforming challenge that may well make you want to throw your Nintendo Switch across the room in frustration? Then Slime-san is for you! Fans of Super Meat Boy and its ilk will be right at home with this addictive, excellently presented piece of gaming goodness that will have players tearing their hair out, but unable to put down until every drop of juice (or 'slime') has been squeezed out of it.

This is a truly great game that has a great mix of gorgeous pixel art style graphics and fantastic and hard level designs that are fair (for the most part) and fun. I enjoy how throughout the game they continue to add in new things instead of reusing older parts of the game just harder. I like how you can change your playstyle such as walking slower but jumping higher in exchange for apples. Apples are the games main collectibles which allow you to purchase different forms of slime san allowing different playstyles as mentioned above, hats and a few other accessories, borders of detailed art and shaders that can make the game look like it is an old vhs tape or like you're playing it on a gameboy. There is also coins to collect by finding secret exits and new, funny characters that are often references to other games or movies and you can guide them back to slumptown, the place where all previously mentioned items can be purchased. You can use these coins to purchase minigames which act as fun little distractions from the main game. Nothing to write home about but fun nonetheless. You purchase these minigames in an arcade where you can meet a hedghog who's known for his speed called cinos and a speedrunner. There is also a set of challenges which task you with destroying all of the targets in a pre built stage in a set time. The reward for success is an apple. This takes place in a dojo where you also meet red shadow who is your biggest fan and is mentioned throughout **** morphing ability that slows down time is innovative and fun and opens up all sorts of new opportunities in level design which the developers had no trouble siezing. A stunningly good game for just £10. 10/10

Overall, Slime-san is a surprising and insanely fun downloadable title that platforming fans should not hesitate picking up. The style is gorgeous and the music is catchy, while the moment-to-moment gameplay is incredible. Super Meat Boy may still be months from launch, but those looking for a twitch-based platforming experience should not hesitate downloading Slime-san today.

Hands down, Slime-san is the best super-tough 2D platformer that I've ever played (yes, even better than Super Meat Boy). So, if you're looking for a new experience to test your gaming skills then you can't do much better than this.

In the absence of Meat Boy Slime-San stands unopposed, and excellent little bite of hyperactive platform action.

If you are a fan of puzzle game like super meat boy, well you don't wanna miss this game. Slime-san offer you so many level and challenge that it's hard to make the count. The level-design is so good that you can play 50 level without getting tired. Boss level are challenging and fun at the same time. I really the graphic color and sound in this game. this is absolutely a game that you should buy right now !

Slime-san is a great platformer, it's up there with Celeste. With tons of content, awesome collectibles, mini games, character accessories, and so on, this really is the definition of "getting a bang for your buck." I would recommend this game for any platform lovers.

SummarySlime-san was minding his own business when suddenly… A giant worm appeared and gobbled him up! Deep within the worm’s belly, Slime-san has to face a decision: Be digested by the incoming wall of stomach acid... Or jump, slide and slime his way through the worm and back out its mouth!
