Silent Hill HD Collection

Brings back two of the very best horror games that have ever been published. The oppressive atmosphere of the games is as terrifying as ever and sadly so are the controls. James and Heather controls are just too clumsy. The graphics are much sharper and clearer now, though Silent Hill 3 looks much better than its predecessor. The fact that there are new voice recordings is awesome, because the synchronizations of the originals were pretty impersonal and static. All in all the collection is worth every cent, though it is strange that Silent Hill and Silent Hill 4: The Room are missing.

Playing Silent Hill HD Collection reassured me that once it had been a fantastic series that has aged well. I can recommend this collection to all of you, especially if you haven't played Silent Hill 2 or 3 before.

Technically the collection is lacking, but there's no denying the quality of the games. [Issue#217, p.72]

The collection is also rounded out by the option provided in the collectors edition of Silent Hill 2 that allows you to play the storyline from the viewpoint of Maria, also from the game. It's a good edition and one that adds a lot more value to your purchase.

A disappointing release, partially in terms of content, but primarily in how the ports were handled. Altered and missing content plus major technical woes are highly critical mistakes to make. I hope Konami revisits the idea of a true Silent Hill HD Collection in the coming years.

After the excellent Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Silent Hill fans definitely deserved a much better adaptation of some of their favorite games. With embarrassing glitches, problems that should have never made their way into the games, and a disappointing lack of content, it's hard for me to recommend this release.

it's ridiculous how little time i spend on my new PS4 after buying this game. It is addicting as hell and with no doubt one of the most exiting series out there

I give this Collection a 7 because it combines two amazing games in one package for a cheap price and ease of use. I had played silent hill 4 before this package was release which i found correct nothing more nothing less but everywhere people were telling me Silent Hill 2 is the best and 3 is really good so i decided to get this and damn i enjoyed it Sadly those HD Ports are bad and if you want to play them get yourself the PC version with some mods and unofficial patch or the original one on PS2/xbox if you can stand the lower resolutions from i have learn the older game ambiance was better and less buggy and from what i also understand the HD Version used older Build from the PS2/xbox not completely patched because the source code wasn't find-able or something. This HD collection is good if you don't want to pay for a old PS2 and just buy the game and play but the experience might suffer a little bit.

Now is the first time i'm trying the old SH games, after i have really enjoyfull time playing Downpour. But this piece of crap wrapped in a odd HD pack by 60 dollars is probably killing the original director's vision. the gameplay is horrible and the graphics are dark and is full of glitches. But the script is deep, and gladly, they didn't changed it. I regret i didn't play when this masterpiece was launched to ps2. Now i have a so-so experience with this rat's ass remasterd work. Why not 1080p? Is so hard?

Overall, the game is garbage, but is a good way to tryout SH2 and SH3. I would call it a demo, or trial run of the real games. They work, not well but they do work. tons of audio bugs, and a few physical ones. Buy the game if your not sure if you want to make a effort to find the games, and a PS2, or Xbox.

Silent Hill HD Collection takes 2 great games and puts them through a grinder and spits out a huge mess. There are an unforgivable amount of bugs and glitches, the games have been downgraded by a huge amount. The fog affects in SH2 are so bad in comparison to the PS2 original. SH3 is the worst when it comes to bugs and glitches, and there have been pointless creative changes to the dialog and some of the environments. There was no love and effort put into these "remasters". Avoid this collection, these aren't the games we know and love.
