Resident Evil Requiem is an amalgamation of different ideas, eras and creative intents. But instead of trying to harmonize them into a straightforward experience, the game does the opposite. It celebrates Resident Evil's legacy as a whole - as a horror game, an intense action, as a spy thriller, and as a science fiction. Resident Evil is all of those things simultaneously, and it has never been more apparent than now.

A Requiem is not a final, but a threshold. And as it crosses that threshold scented with nostalgia, it renews confidence and hope through the path it opens for the series' future. If only they hadn't forgotten the puzzles.

Despite the suspense and terror, there’s still a playfully self-aware spring in the game’s step.

Perfect game ,g.o.t.y. it is more than perfect and it gets what re has been missing.

Not the biggest fan of the horror genre, but I really loved Resident Evil Requiem and honestly just wish it was longer. Leon should be the main character in every Resident Evil game, and I’d like to see him return as the lead again.I really enjoyed the action scenes and think there should be more of them. I’ll be honest, puzzles can get boring after a while, so I’d prefer fewer puzzles and more action in the next game. Definitely a game of the year contender.

Was going to give this a better score, but adding the AI brainrot at the last second after it's conveniently after the 14 day return policy? Lol and Crapcom wonders why it comes up short at times. Idgaf if women made Leon "more attractive" clearly someone disagreed enough to add AI SLOP to this already messy ass game. First, you add a female version of Re2 Remake Leon with a half baked "Somehow, The Man hellbent on ending humanity feel bad and make cure" Rey Palpatine cloning nonsense, then add Leon and his boring action sequences because they knew no one else would sell and you gotta milk that character to hell, keep beating the dead Raccoon City horse, and then this AI crap? Sounds like Capcom's RE Department needs to clean house. So sad. Definitely gonna skip on the DLC. Wasted enough money on this mediocre game. Hell, wish I could return it.

Resident Evil Requiem is a return to old-school Resident Evil structure with new-school flavor. It’s a more compact and claustrophobic experience compared to the previous title, while bringing dual stories, intense action, and horror, and a proper number of puzzles into the mix.

Resident Evil Requiem is a confident, gorgeous-looking and genuinely scary romp that expertly balances its horror and action elements into one compelling, hair-raising package. Grace is one of the best new characters the series has introduced to date, and a perfect complement to veteran zombie slayer Leon. As the series celebrates its 30th anniversary, Resident Evil Requiem sees the franchise at its strongest in years.

With Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom isn’t trying to tear everything down and start from scratch. This isn’t a radical reinvention, but rather a highly self-aware synthesis of everything the series has experimented with over the past thirty years. It’s an anniversary entry that clearly looks back, embraces its fan service, yet still tries to move forward. In short, it feels like a best-of, but a thoughtful one, not a lazy collage. For years, the series has swung between two extremes: pure, suffocating horror and explosive, over-the-top action. Here, instead of awkwardly blending both into a single gameplay style, the game makes a much smarter choice: it separates these two energies into two complementary characters. On one side, Grace Ashcroft embodies vulnerability, fear, and constant tension. On the other, Leon S. Kennedy represents control, power, and that charismatic, unstoppable force pushing forward without hesitation. On paper, this could have created imbalance, even a rupture in the game’s rhythm. But in practice? It works surprisingly well.

Requiem isn’t flawless, but it doesn’t need to be. Its levels breathe, its mechanics reward mastery and like good zombies, its creatures never stop moving. Fear, strategy and ritual coexist here in a way few games achieve, and even after nine playthroughs, it continues to surprise, challenge and delight. For a series built on tension and curiosity, this is a return that feels alive and impossible to put down.

The strongest new Resident Evil chapter in a long time. Capcom delivers an atmospheric triumph that blends classic survival-horror-virtues with fresh ideas. Even though the boss fights and the finale falter slightly, it remains a truly strong survival-horror experience.

Heavy on nostalgia and fan service with the occasional violent delight thrown in, Requiem is a mostly fun Resident Evil title that still feels like a step down from its predecessor.

It's a fun roller coaster ride the first time, but i fear the switching between characters is both a blessing and a curse. it breaks up pacing very nicely, but is done unevenly. the latter half suffers from too many set pieces and fan service. there are too many un-skippable mandatory walking segments that will hurt replay value. that being said, I had a blast, but I'm not the usually resi hardcore fan that will wish replay value was better here. also, i'm very much not a fan of games coming out unfinished. i really wish that mercenaries and all that other stuff was already included. and where's our A & B sides for the campaign? I liked that they did this for resi 2 remake. then resi 4 dropped it again. capcom is all over the place with this series. fun story to experience, but they should really consider how the game plays for someone that skips all cutscenes on their 3rd playthough.

Interesting premise and great horror in the beginning is quickly ruined by run-of-the-mill action with game mechanics from 20 years ago. Once you pass the 50% mark, the story gives up entirely. Instead of building up the only interesting character further (Grace), it desperately attempts to create some kind of reason for everything, but the "creative" minds behind it just couldn't deliver. Leon feels about as engaging as a protagonist as rotten cheese. Requiem is yet another boring RE sequel that would have been better as a standalone horror game without the 20-something years of baggage that came before it.
