With this new port, Capcom reminds us just how pivotal Resident Evil 7 is in its now thirty-year-old saga. The claustrophobic setting of a dysfunctional family and the switch to a first-person perspective create an oppressive atmosphere that is just as compelling on Nintendo Switch 2. Furthermore, the hybrid hardware delivers impressive technical performance that perfectly preserves the original experience, with masterful pacing and meticulous level design. All in all, this is a nightmarish new version that we're delighted to dive back into.
Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 is, above all, a demonstration of technical maturity. The RE Engine proves once again why it's considered one of the most versatile engines in the industry, and the Nintendo Switch 2 confirms itself as a viable platform for experiences that until recently seemed exclusive to home consoles.
Overall, Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition is a fantastic return to form for the series. Sure, it’s a few years old now. But if you want the true Resident Evil experience ahead of playing Resident Evil 9 this is a great entry that’s well worth your time. Just keep the lights on if you’re playing at night. What was that sound…?

Nonostante i vistosi limiti della console Biohazard su switch 2 si mostra in maniera quasi impeccabile e diventando una delle migliori versioni per gli amanti del portatile. 8.6/10

This is a prelude to Ethan's story. The game is good, has plenty of horror elements, and I really enjoyed it. The final shootout was truly spectacular. I recommend it.

The game that saved the series, or at least rebirthed it taking the series back to its root while simultaneously modernizing it, now in great shape on a portable console with all extra content included.

El juego que se arriesgó a algo diferente en resident evil y acertó en todo, antes de requiem el mejor resident en lo personal.

Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 is, arguably, the best way to experience Capcom’s classic. With all content included, outstanding performance, and the added versatility of motion controls, this native version surpasses previous releases and becomes a must-play for survival horror fans.

The Switch 2 version of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is very good, especially from a technical standpoint. Low-resolution textures aside, the game looks excellent, and the near-constant 60fps really makes the game feel close to what you got on the PS4, only now it's in a portable form. The core game remains as solid as ever, and with everything in one package, Biohazard is an easy choice for a Resident Evil fan who only has access to Nintendo platforms.

Resident Evil 7 on Switch 2 is a technically polished piece of series history and, above all, a very well-rounded package for Nintendo fans who don’t own another console.

All things considered, though, this is a solid way to play a solid entry in the series. Capcom learned a lot from this game, with the experiments made iterated on in all the future entries. I can’t really stay mad at Resident Evil 7, and this was a fun revisit. This won’t be the best version of the game, but most newcomers will be able to play a version of the game with solid parity to the other console versions. A patch to clean up some lingering performance issues, fix up the HDR as best as possible, and improve gyro aiming would go a long way.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard on Nintendo Switch 2 is another example of a port that fails to meet the standard set by Requiem. The game itself remains one of the strongest entries in the series, with incredible атмосфера, tight level design, and constant tension, but the technical state of this version seriously holds it back. The most noticeable issue is heavy ghosting that appears during movement and darker scenes, creating a smeared image that constantly distracts from the horror atmosphere. It makes exploration feel visually messy instead of immersive. On top of that, the framerate struggles more than it should, with noticeable dips that hurt responsiveness, especially during combat encounters where precision matters. Reflections also look significantly downgraded and unstable, often appearing noisy or low resolution, which further reduces overall visual fidelity. Compared to how polished and stable Requiem feels on the same hardware, this port comes across as under-optimized and outdated. Given that this is an older title, these technical shortcomings are hard to justify, especially when a newer release proves the console can handle much better optimization. As it stands, Resident Evil 7 on Switch 2 feels technically compromised and clearly inferior to Requiem in terms of visual stability and performance.
