Graphically, this is a very solid and good looking PS2 title.

Nothing jazzes up a sport better than flagrant infractions.

I love how Midway has made a pretty realistic title that just happens to throw a very vicious elbow. [May 2002, p.83]

I enjoyed playing the game but the re-playability with only one player is limited, unless you really like the challenge of unlocking teams and stadiums.

Slide kicks, slide tackles, flaming hot-foot bombs to the face, and all other manner of nastiness is a great way to relieve stress and an even better way to win. Rules are for sissies.

The end result is mired in too many gameplay inconsistencies for me to give the game my full blessing as a reviewer.

Without the intense craziness of true Midway arcade charm, though, even the multiplayer wore thin, leaving me wanting to go back to games like FIFA.
