In the end, PGA Tour 2K23 is far from perfect, but also much closer than anyone could have expected. With EA Sports re-entering the video golf scene next year, I have high hopes that fresh competition and a little fine-tuning will encourage 2K to deliver a resurgence of excitement to golf game enthusiasts in the years to come.

I’ve missed having a good golf sim and PGA Tour 2K23 is indeed a good golf sim, part of me would have like a skip button as well/instead of the speed up button so that you could get straight to your next shot rather than having to watch your shot from start to finish… but that’s nit picking and not essential. Once you get over the initial hurdle of getting used to the controls it starts to become a more relaxing experience… but not so calm that you won’t find yourself occasionally shanking your shot into the water or slicing into a bunker. Ultimately though it’s a fun way to spend some time in virtual nature.

PGA Tour 2K23 takes an already excellent golfing simulator and builds upon it, making it better and more fleshed out by adding things that were sorely needed. We’re still waiting for properly glamourous careers and tournaments but the gameplay itself will spellbind every golf fan.

Akward terrible golf game without accurate mathematics in any capacity. Putting is too easy, driving is really bad, no numbers involved at all, questionable physics.

I love golf video games. This one is fun, but the UI and constant ads are a disgusting greedy mess.

PGA Tour 2K23 is the perfect game for those of us who enjoy this sport. Complex, deep, with a multitude of options, varied modes, online modes and a course editor in case you want to spend your life playing this game alone.

While lacking in presentation and depth in ist career-mode, PGA Tour 2K23 is a compelling golf-simulation. The gameplay turns out to be both challenging yet satisfying and keeps players motivated for a lot of hours.

Awesome game. Only flaws are the graphics should be better and also the fact that the consumable balls can change the green speed. At least be able to lock balls out of the competitive societies. It also **** that there is no leaderboard or a ranking system for online play. I would be happy with a leaderboard that resets every season. Or something along those lines... it would be a 10 if it wasn't for those two major gripes.

Solid game. Plenty of objectives to keep you interested and playing, from boosting your stats by choosing club fittings to play how you want - conservatively with an easier more forgiving swing , or go for distance with a less forging swing. There's a skill tree to upgrade what you want , and player architype to choose between being a short club game or driver game, up to you. Then there's the apparel to unlock and online play. Plenty to keep you interested. Solid golf game.

HB Studios have done a good job with the PGA 2K23 adding some new content while improving the gameplay and simulation realism at the same time. The roster features first-rate stars and some global icons such as Michael Jordan and Steph Curry, while the routes included should keep fans busy for quite a while (thanks to the plethora of content produced by its passionate community). TopGolf mode is a great variation on the theme, and online multiplayer is robust albeit lacking in substantial novelties. The graphics sector, on the other hand, can be improved: the quality of the animations and paths is fluctuating and not up to what is achieved by Visual Concepts / 2K with NBA 2K23.

It’s difficult in all the right ways, satisfying, rewarding, and always entertaining. Off the course, the career mode needs a ton of work to align with the likes of 2K’s in-depth, fleshed-out NBA series. Though, they can now proudly add PGA Tour to their list of sports franchises on which they hang their proverbial hat.

PGA Tour 2K23 may have the best golf simulation ever in a videogame. It's just a shame that it does not have the visuals and game modes to match it. It feels really good to take some swings on it, but the game lacks some of the major tournaments and also experiences that go beyond the Career Mode.

PGA TOUR 2K23 could not beat the 2021 version, even being developed for the new generation of consoles. Its gameplay remains firm but it does not take advantage of anything from PS5 such as graphics, DualSense or the powerful SSD. Michael Jordan and Steph Curry come in handy for the game, but that doesn't cover up the things the developers should have focused on.

PGA Tour 2K23 is a great improvement to the previous game and a big return to one of the best golfers in the game that is Tiger Woods.

Triple A price tag for $20 worth of content. Gameplay mechanica are great. Player and equipment customization is very lacking. Sponsors system is broken and needs reworked.

It’s the best golf game on the market by virtue of being the only real golf game on the market. The gameplay is very good; almost too good as it has you just a frustrated at time as in real life! Sadly they dropped the ball in many other areas: graphics and performance. Screen tearing and dropped frames on a PS5 for graphics that look decidedly last gen is pretty bad. Player models do not even resemble their real life counterparts. Visual customization of your player is a regression from last year‘s game.

THESE DEVS ARE LAZY AND GREEDY I'm not even trying to be funny here- Hot Shots Golf, a ps1 game from 1997, is a better game that is way more fun to play. You can tell right away that the devs put no thought into this; the game feels lifeless. You can't even create your own character! I wanted to try out a new golf game cause I was getting nostalgiac about playing Hot Shots back in the early 2000's... well this game feels and looks old. The controls are so counter-intuitive that I ended up accidentally switching out my putter when I was on the green without even knowing, and smashing the ball 100 yards away, which ruined my first tournament of 'my career', and there's no restart or mulligans or anything, I have to continue from that terrible shot. People spend a lot of time arguing over games, but like with any art form or entertainment, genre and tech aspects and such aren't as important as the simple question of whether the game pulls you in and is fun to play. This is not. It is frustrating for all the wrong reasons. There is nothing added here to make the player excited, unless you love having ads pop up constantly trying to get you to purchase hats and shirts and crap. Just pathetic. Even the people giving this an 8 or 9 all say "...but the graphics really do ****". Thankfully I didn't pay a dime for this garbage, as it's free on ps+ right now.
