Paradise Killer offers a highly unique experience with interesting characters and a heavily detailed mystery to follow. However, its needlessly convoluted story and writing may deter some players from diving in.
While Paradise Killer seems like a detective adventure game, it’s not impossible to beat the game without solving the main mystery at all. The game’s climax plays out in a court session, which the player can engage in at any given point. But in order to unveil the true story, you will need to collect countless pieces of evidence and talk to many different characters. This means that you will need to work your way through an inconveniently designed open world, and I often found the game’s scenario hard to swallow. That being said, from quirky character design to Japan-inspired locales and a Vaporwave-like soundtrack and UI, the game’s surrealistic atmosphere is well worth a visit.
An investigative adventure that actually makes you feel like a detective, Paradise Killer blends surreal world-building, vibrant art, clever writing, and rock-solid open-world gameplay to create an experience you won’t soon forget.

Not my style of game, I was uninterested with the vast majority of characters and it felt like walking sim over a detective mystery game

A fun open world murder mystery detective game. Has a really fun and eclectic group of characters to talk to and interrogate.

Buena historia, mundo único y adictivo de explorar, es un sandbox con walking simulator que siempre te hace sentir que puedes ir por un poco más.

Paradise Killer's non-linear focus, cast of intriguing characters, deep investigation mechanics, and vaporwave presentation make it one of the best whodunnits in recent memory.

Hey Poor Player
This is by far one of the most creative, most satisfying, and most appealing games I’ve played all year, firmly sitting at the top of my GOTY 2020 list.

One of the strangest games I've ever played. First I thought it was a joke, an over-hyped indie junk. But something kept me coming back and then it clicked. I got it. And I was hooked. Beyond all the vaporware weirdness hides a compelling detective game full of twist and turns. Once you start to unravel the deep & dark mysteries of the island(s) and its bizarre inhabitants you just can't stop playing. You just have to find out what the f is going on here. Paradise killer is more than a masterpiece, it's a piece of art.

This game is a vaporwave acid trip unlike anything I've ever experienced. Its an open-world detective game that doesn't hold your hand for a second. It lets you wander around this incredible setting to find or miss clues as you go and then you decide when you've figured it all out and take it to trial. The accusations and conclusions are your own. The setting itself is wild and deeply thought-out, with graphics that are as strange, beautiful, horrifying, and cool as the world they're portraying. Plus, a dope soundtrack. There should be no hesitancy in picking up and playing this game.

Paradise Killer is an exceptionally enjoyable piece of entertainment. I loved the world and characters and I loved solving the mystery. Anyone who enjoys piecing things together and carefully combing over a digital world for goodies will likely be elated by what's on offer.

There’s nothing so gauche or straightforward as a Miss Marple denouement reveal, where you discover whether or not your conclusions were correct. In Paradise Killer the truth is more complicated and, counterintuitively, all the more satisfying for it.

For a good while this is a quite motivating, in terms of storytelling quite tense thriller - with a rather disappointing ending.

Paradise Killer is a very intriguing detective story with an interesting and deep world and well-developed characters, which suffers from a number of shortcomings.

Paradise Killer drips with endearing style and charm, but can't quite make its finale match up to its opening hours. Discovering intrigue and mystery is compelling at the start, but the good gets lost in its collectible busywork. Paradise Killer is a good option for virtual detective fanatics in need of new mysteries, but it lacks the staying power of other modern mystery giants.

My new favourite mystery game! I simply couldn't stop playing. With the open world and very little handholding you actually feel like a proper investigator!

Paradise Killer, on the whole, encourages active participation in its world and immersive storytelling, placing the responsibility squarely on your shoulders. It embraces the idea of getting lost, acquiring Blood Crystals (the in-game currency), and gathering numerous seemingly "insignificant" items, each with a brief descriptive passage. While it may initially feel inconvenient to spend tokens for fast travel and other amenities, the game provides audio hints to aid your search, so simply embrace exploration and don't fear exhausting your resources.

The concept of an open world mystery game is really cool and I love the atmosphere in this game but there is an overwhelming amount of random **** to get and im pretty sure most of it is just random junk that doesn't do anything. There's also like 10 billion options when you talk to each character on top of an already surreal plot. Maybe I'm just too stupid to play this game idk.

A 2 without Auto Text Advance, could be a 7 with Auto Text Advance. This game has lots of text, and you have to press a key or controller button after every sentence to advance to the next sentence, then you have to press a key or controller button to advance to the next sentence, then you have to press a key or controller button to advance to the next sentence, ad infinitum. I don't like this. It would be simple to have Auto Text Advance as an option, so that people who want it, like me, can have it, and people who don't want it, don't have to have it. So I stopped playing. If it had Auto Text Advance, I would have played it more and given it more of a chance, but with all the other great games I can play, this situation of lots of text and no Auto Text Advance means this game is a low priority for me.

SummaryParadise Island, a world outside reality. There’s been a murder that only "investigation freak" Lady Love Dies can solve. Gather evidence and interrogate suspects in this open world adventure. You can accuse anyone, but you’ll have to prove your case in trial to convict. It’s up to you to decide who’s guilty.
