It may not be a huge step up from last year's PS4 release but Nioh 2 Remastered - The Complete Edition is a great edition of a fantastic game that fans and newcomers alike will love. That is; if they can handle its high degree of challenge.

Very good entertainment with a faceted battle system. It looks and feels great on PlayStation 5.

Nioh 1 was good but Nioh 2 is a masterpiece and made me a fan of the series. Simply one of the best games ever created. If you like combat and character builds this is it!

A commendably opulent remastering of one of the PlayStation 4's better action RPGs, Nioh 2 Remastered: The Complete Collection is the best way to play Team Ninja's furious, Soulslike sequel. That said, even on PS5 Nioh 2 Remastered still inherits the flaws from its original PS4 incarnation, such as overly punishing difficulty and repetitive design. Regardless though, for those new to Nioh 2, there really is no better time to get stuck into the game - just make sure that you've finished the first game beforehand; otherwise you're in for pain. A lot of pain.

An incredibly good combination of Dark Souls, Ninja Gaiden and Diablo. This game has a lot to offer: - Durability: You can spend a lot of hours by completing the campaign which is huge with plenty submissions and is very challenging. - The possibilities to build your character are incredible huge.

Really solid game but doesn't really have an identity. The dialogues are really weird for my taste, I feel like they are not finished, same with cutscenes. the gameplay itself is ok and combat system is very rewarding if you pool of the combo but you can feel that's bit laggy. The enemy and boss design is what makes for me this game a 7 - everything in the game is trying to kill but in a way that it feels like the enemy is cheating. Games like this are suppose to be hard but just throwing random enemies at you to achieve is not way to go. I've enjoyed every 75h that I spent on this game but I would not play that game again.

Nioh 2 feels like an overly difficult rom hack of Dark Souls. They tried to iterate on the formula, but instead made encounters extremely frustrating and leveling/gearing up to be pointless. The game scales everything to your character at all times. This makes gearing and leveling to be a waste of time. You will always die in two hits to a boss or elite enemy. You will never kill even the easiest enemy with a three-hit combo. They will always be scaled and your stats are thus pointless. Encounters try too hard to be frustrating. Multiple archers, spotlights, fast melee enemies, massive elite enemies all bombarding you at once. Often it feels like it just wants you to lose instead of just trying to challenge you. It's all the worst parts of Dark Souls with none of the surreal, minimalist story or gameplay perfection.

The game has better level design and enemies which is a good addition as well as more weapons and better skill tree layout, but as far as combat goes Nioh 1 is clearly superior in every way. Team ninja dropped the ball here by trying to over tink the combat mechanics which makes me want to avoid their other titles they may release after this. I can't say I will be inclined to preorder any more of their games and I am glad I wanted to pick this one up when it was on sale after playing the demo I knew it was going to have its short comings.
The game is worth it at 20 dollars but I can't see most people enjoying it as did people who tried Nioh 1. If you're on a budget and want a game to sink hours in get Nioh 1 girst before this .
