Oh, boy. Talk about a disasterpiece. This game has to be up there as one of the most ridiculously fascinating stories in all of game development. The fact that this game started on this Everywhere platform before turning into a full game, with publishing coming from one of my favorite developers IO Interactive, all resulting into an insane **** from top to bottom, from no review codes, to the whole decimation of Build a Rocket Boy as a developer, and the fact that this game, with a $60 price tag, even got rare refunds from Sony of all companies, you know I absolutely had to check it all from start to finish. I played it around launch (where it was absolutely rough to say the least) on PC, but I didn’t progress further until the developer, who has now self-published the game, offered the game for free through a weekend on Steam, and, with all of the patches available a year after this game’s merciless launch, I can absolutely confidently say that MindsEye is definitely one of the games of all time. Graphically, it doesn’t look fantastic, the motion blur looks unbelievably bad and it’s actually pretty distracting at times. The gunplay is pretty stupid but mindless fun at the same time, the driving is solid itself, the goofy story with good cast performances, and the concept of the game is more interesting than the overall execution of the actual final product. What I will absolutely say is that, if you spend $60 on a game like this that was unbelievably broken and ridiculously bad, then yes, you would classify it as a **** game, but I played it without spending any money, even at the $35 price range that it’s currently sitting at right now, and honestly, I had an absolutely hilariously great time with MindsEye in general. When it comes to bad games, the fact that I played it all the way through truly proves to you that I’m an absolute **** for bad games that are so unbelievably bad that’s it’s amazing.I’m definitely going to get flack for saying this, but if you are willing to stick with MindsEye, especially when the price is as low as $35, it’s truly worth it. MindsEye is the perfect definition of a 7 out of 10 game for me. This game is definitely rough, and they are pretty glaring, but if you’re willing to stick with it all at its glory, then it definitely deserves the title of PeaksEye for a reason.

After finishing MindsEye, my opinion ended up being much more mixed than when I first started playing. This was actually my third attempt with the game. I refunded it twice because of technical issues, but I kept coming back because there was something about it that made me curious. The science fiction setting, the presentation, and some of the ideas behind the game kept pulling me back in. The release of the Blacklisted DLC eventually convinced me to give it one final chance and see the game through to the **** biggest problem with MindsEye is that it feels unfinished. Even after multiple patches, performance remains inconsistent. I have a high end PC and still could not achieve consistently smooth performance. Frame Generation does not seem to work properly, and I can only imagine the experience is significantly worse on mid range hardware.Bugs are still present as well. Cars sometimes behave strangely, and I encountered situations where my character became stuck and required a restart. Enemy AI could also use some additional refinement. Most of the time it works well, but I occasionally encountered enemies becoming "confused," standing still, looking in the wrong direction, or failing to react **** thing is, the AI itself is not bad. When everything works as intended, enemies can be surprisingly effective. They will attempt to flank you, push your position, and occasionally catch you from behind if you become too focused on enemies in front of you. Some firefights can become genuinely tense. The issue is not the design of the AI, but rather its inconsistency. However, the technical issues are not the biggest **** main issue is **** a large portion of the campaign, many missions follow a repetitive formula. Drive somewhere while listening to dialogue, arrive at a location, complete a short objective or combat encounter, then drive somewhere else and repeat the process. Too often it feels like the driving exists simply to stretch the game's **** writing also does not do the game any favors. Much of the dialogue comes across as unnatural, overly dramatic, or simply forgettable. There were multiple occasions where I found myself wishing the conversations would end so I could get back to playing. What makes this frustrating is that there is actually a good game hidden underneath these problems.Around the final quarter of the campaign, MindsEye suddenly becomes much more focused. Missions become tighter, action becomes more frequent, pacing improves dramatically, and there is far less unnecessary driving between objectives. The game finally starts delivering on the promise shown in its **** final stretch of the campaign is genuinely fun.Combat becomes more engaging, mission design improves, and the overall experience feels much more focused. In many ways, the last 25% of the game showcases what MindsEye should have been from the beginning. It honestly feels like the developers eventually figured out what worked, but only after most of the game was already behind you. There are also several things the game does well throughout. The cutscenes are very well produced and often look impressive. The science fiction setting is interesting. The drone mechanics are a genuinely cool addition and help differentiate the gameplay. Some missions are memorable, and there are flashes of creativity that hint at a much better game beneath the **** recently released Blacklisted DLC is another pleasant surprise. It adds roughly an hour of additional content, introduces a new playable character, and provides a glimpse of the broader Arcadia universe the developers seem to be building. It is short, but I enjoyed it and found it more focused than parts of the main campaign. The DLC does a decent job showcasing the potential of this universe if the developers decide to continue building on it.Another bonus is that MindsEye is an extremely easy game to fully complete on Steam. If you enjoy achievement hunting, earning 100% completion is straightforward and does not require excessive grinding or frustrating challenges.Ultimately, MindsEye feels like a game full of good ideas that needed another year in development. Better pacing, improved dialogue, more mission variety, additional AI refinement, and further optimization could have transformed it into something genuinely **** it a great game? **** it the disaster some people make it out to be? Also no.MindsEye is a flawed, uneven, and often frustrating experience that gradually improves as it goes along. The final act, the presentation, the setting, the drone mechanics, and the DLC all show real potential. If you can tolerate some technical rough edges and a slow first half, there is fun to be found here.

MindSeye struggles to deliver a coherent experience, with confusing mechanics and lackluster visuals that fail to engage. The puzzles feel arbitrary, and the story is thin and hard to follow. Occasional flashes of creativity aren’t enough to salvage it, making it frustrating more often than fun. Overall, it’s a disappointing title that lands at a 4.5/10.

Even after they patched the bugs, it still ****. The story is whatever, the gameplay is whatever, everything about this game is whatever - it lacks any personality and is not very fun to play. Basically, a linear GTA with generic design and direction.

They fixed most of the game problems Let's make it short this game has amazing graphics and a very good story also the gunplay is on point for me never a dull moment but it has some bugs and they didn't take advantage of the well designed open world it be honest for me it's all about story and gameplay in any game and liked both in mindseye

Okay. So I'm a new player. Decided to wait until the game got patched up before playing, as I heard about the issues it had at launch. And I gotta say, so far I'm liking the game. Played about 4 hours so far. The narrative is very interesting, visuals are top notch. Performance on my setup is more than adequate. But the gameplay does feel abit outdated.i having a good time so far. If it had released in this state at launch. It would have been received alot better. Shame really. It haspotential

MindsEye delivers blockbuster action, strong set-pieces, and a ton of Arcadia content — the kind of game that pulls you back for “just one more mission.” The big issue was always stability, but recent updates have improved performance and reduced the worst immersion-breaking problems. It’s still not flawless, but it’s now genuinely enjoyable more often than not — and that’s a meaningful shift. 8/10.

What initially seemed like an exciting new game from a promising developer, led by former GTA producer Leslie Benzies, quickly fell short of expectations. Swarming with bugs, inconsistent frame rates, and generic gameplay, this title fails to reach the ambitious heights it aimed for. You’ll likely find yourself wishing you had chosen something else to play.

I waited for the update 5 to play the game, and it runs bad, is like doesn't matter it you set everything to low and put some upscaling , the game still has serious performance issues even in closed spaces. I don't think the game itself is as bad as some people says, the story is somewhat decent at least, but you can see that they rushed everything and very often you get bits of the story while you are in a car chase or during gun combat, and you can't pay attention to that. The cutscenes are good, the ending is open and was rushed. I don't know if the studio has the $ and the people to get this game fixed, but unless they make an extreme modification the game will still ****.

Also, ich finds eigentlich ganz gut. Weiter so!

With the latest update the game has addressed many of the launch issues that have been reported. Not sure why people are hating this game so much. The story starts very promising but feels a bit rushed towards the end. I really like some of the new missions outside the campaign but the highscores that some players have achieved are crazy.

"Minseye, seu sistema está uma bagunça! Bugs para tudo quanto é lado, parece que ninguém testou nada antes de lançar. Erros críticos que atrapalham a experiência do usuário, problemas de performance que deixam qualquer um frustrado. Como pode uma empresa tão descuidada com a qualidade do seu produto? Será que não têm uma equipe de QA decente? Os usuários merecem respeito, não essa desconsideração total pela experiência deles. Corrijam esses bugs logo e mostrem que prestam atenção nos seus clientes!"

It's hard to call it a game. It's more of a beta version of something resembling a game. There's no optimization, 20-30 fps on the lowest settings and with DLSS. Gameplay - drive a car from point A to point B, and then back in an empty, static world full of bugs and any ideas, plans. Even in the early 2000s, games were made incomparably better. I don't understand what this is at all. Is it even a game?

1 as I was feeling generous this morning. A very poor game, there is nothing good about it at all. To even speak mindseye and cyberpunk in the same sentence is blasphemy. There is nothing going for it, story is terrible, gameplay terrible, combat terrible. The best part was finishing it so I could move on. Buy it for trophy or at a 99.9999% discount is my advice.

Decent story until the last couple of hours, decent acting and voice work, the rest of the game can eff off. This game is bad and it should feel bad.

This text makes it clear that while I was involved in covering the product, that doesn’t mean I’m a clear supporter of it. When I received the invitation to join the creator program for MindsEye, I used the opportunity to get a closer look at the project. The reaction videos were simply to fulfill the requests made by Build a Rocket Boy, and during the launch coverage, I aimed to form my own opinions about the game and reach my own verdict without third-party influence affecting my thoughts. That said, I refuse to write a longer and more dynamic piece to describe MindsEye. Just don’t play it. Use your time on better quality products. The game has numerous problems: the gameplay is simplistic, based on shooting and cover, with drone mechanics that rarely work as I assume intended. AI is problematic and offers no real challenge. The optimization issues are endless. MindsEye struggles to give a solid 60 FPS even on low settings. The story seems interesting at first but gets lost along the way. It feels rushed and poorly developed. Build.MindsEye might be the strongest part of the game, and it’s odd that the best aspect isn’t the game itself but a creation mode that gives access to all in-game assets. The community might be able to do something interesting with it, maybe even better than the actual MindsEye experience. A clear 3 out of 10 that made me waste a few hours I could have spent on something better.

Review goes like this. The character 0/10 i mean idk the guy i do respect him, but he is not the perfect actor looks and voice actor player character in the game for such a story. (Although i wish he got paid so good). The city and the environment it self is 6/10 the graphics -1000/10 (watch the the negative) its totally trash and an eye killing graphics, can make you dizzy, can force you to just uninstall it. Driving is super bad and it can make you dizzy (MY GPU IS 4080) especially in offroad, you can't change the car, headlights are awful, the wheel cam is BAD. Mission tracking system is terrible sometimes you reach or chase the objective but you suddenly failed the mission without obvious reason! Map tracking is bad. The game is so linear for a seemingly open world game. NPC'S ARE DUMBER THAN OLD PC AND PS1 GAMES. Narratives i can hear them actors reaaaaaaaally tense and stressed while they are talking IDK WHAT KIND OF WORK ENVIRONMENT THEY HAVE THAT MADE ME FEEL THEY ARE SUPER STRESSED OR NOT FLOWING WITH THE STORY NARRATIVE. after the claudia mission where she goes villain and you must chase her (((car chase is trash, driving is trash, and when you get to the bridge ambush, and defeat the enemies SHE ESCAPES WITH THE "FLYING CAR" AND THEN YOUR CAR DISSAPEARS!!!!!!! EVEN IF YOU WIPED YOUR SELF TO RESTART THE CAR GOES AND YOU HAVE TO RUN BACK TO THE ROBOTS FACTORY WALKING AND RUNNING IN THE HIGHWAYS OF VAL LALA LMAO))))) I SWEAR I COULDN'T HANDLE IT REMOVED IT RIGHT AWAY

Gameplay 7/10 Story 6/10 Creation Tool 9/10 Missionen 4/10 Gesamt 6-7/10

TLDR: Save your money and run. Cyberpunk from AliExpress. it's a linear game set in an open world. You drive from point A to point B, from mission to mission, with nothing else to do because there's nothing to do in the open world. If u stay away 5 meters from mission NPC you're gonna need to start over. because mission fails. There's no dodging or rolling in the game. You can't melee enemies. There's no stealth. So the only thing you do is shoot and take cover. You unlock a couple of abilities late in the game. Like, for example, you can stun enemies with your drone. But you can't do a takedown. So, after stunning the enemy, you shoot some more. After you've finished the main campaign, you're thrown back into the open world and free to do whatever you want. Except, again, there is nothing to do. No new side missions that pop up, no mini games to play, there's not even a wanted system to mess with, no collectibles to collect, no new cars to drive. Actually there is some things you can like pathetic aimlessly racing or shooting random NPCs. .Even if the devs manage to squash all the bugs and iron out the performance issues, there's still an extremely bland game buried here. By all means this is not worth AAA game price (60€). More likely 20€ and they should put huge banner beforeyou buy BETA. Better buy GTA 4 or Watch Dogs 2. It's almost same game with cars and drones.

It could be way much better , the story telling and gameplay got lots of faults. The story is extremely boring since half of the game it's confused and not good.Same for the gameplay. Story gets much better when you proceed half of the game but gameplay... improves but not much .The only advantage point is it's ghraphical mod and that's it .I think they putted lots of money and hopes for it.Least i can do is for them to hope at least the game brings back the money spent for it's creation

Mindseye is a technical mess. Bugs, crashes, stuttering, and broken physics make it nearly unplayable. AI is lifeless—NPCs don't react, there's no police, and the world feels empty. Despite a decent protagonist, and some character design, NPCs look outdated, like they were pulled from a PS3 game. The lack of basic interactivity kills immersion—you can’t even steal cars or cause real chaos. Worse, the story is boring, uninspired, and completely random. Events feel disconnected, and the ending—feels rushed and meaningless. In 2025, this level of polish (or lack thereof) is unacceptable. Mindseye promises a cinematic open-world, but delivers a broken, lifeless shell instead.

It's borderline ****, but there are a couple good things the game does, most prominently its looks. But the sheer lack of detail is what got me. You can't swim in this game. Like Jesus, you walk on water. I completely excused the plentiful bugs, and rampant crashing from my total score. I did this to give an accurate score, and because games like CP2077 have redeemed themself from these issues before. The actual gameplay, and even features, things you can do and realism are ****. The story is ****. It's trash, but it's not slop. Between 2 and 3, I'll probably give 2

Mindsey promises a dive into dreams—but delivers only digital anesthesia. A synthetic world with no pulse. You move through beautiful voids, but nothing remembers you were **** mechanics feel weightless—not in a poetic way, but like touching air that was never programmed to resist. Choices don’t echo. Interactions flicker and die like broken synapses. There is ambition, yes—but like a **** built on sand. Visually? A tech demo wearing an art school disguise. Narratively? A thousand cryptic fragments taped to a blank wall.

Not impressed with this game. There are too many bugs the game doesn’t have any creativity or interesting dynamics and gameplay and the story is weak. Sad to see as I believe this game could have had potential if there was more time and effort involved in production.

Benzies someone I deeply looked up to for GTA, clearly can work in a environment with a large team when given the freedom and someone else is handling the books, but he’s unable to run a business or replicate what he’s used to doing with a smaller team. This feels like he’s trying to rebuild that rockstar north magic and environment he’s so used to, but is floundering more than someone who can’t get over their ex and is trying to replicate that same feeling without them there, but is failing miserably. Rockstar and him were a match made in heaven but the breakup clearly has Leslie direction feeling desolate if not desperate. There is so much I want to say about not just Mindseye but built a rocket boy studios in general as I’ve been watching them for literal years and hoping they would’ve made a breakthrough, with something solid at least, if not great. But the writing is on the wall. Leslie hand tested this game so I don’t know what that says about him as a game designer, but I want to give an honest assessment here and not just go on a hate train. It’s frightening to see because this is someone who isn’t just a person that lead a game that was a massive success it was consecutive successes, the person that other professionals envied in admiration. Every time you saw that end credits of gta the first name you see is Leslie Benzies, EVERY! SINGLE! HIT!. FROM GTA 3 to GTA 5 that was the first name you saw in an epic close. So to see that fail this poorly is just disappointing. The game is in a far worse state that cyberpunk not in terms of graphics, but it just lacks depth and detail, guess all those interns they had crunching out the little things, and the various pieces rockstar usually borrows from other games wasn’t for not. GTA 5 borrowed many elements and assets from rockstar’s other games ie driver, Bully, etc. along with teams that iron out every little detail that gives it a rockstar finish. Mindseye is just completely bare bones, cyberpunk was salvaged because it was like a derailed train that needed putting together again. Mindseye has nothing it’s like a train that’s 20 percent filled and that’s it. To see someone so experienced flop, is like seeing Davinci fail to draw a basic art piece. PS: I was an alpha tester for Everywhere as well!

PS5 platform: I cannot give it any higher for now, because the optimization on some scenes is clearly not there at this point (the chase sequence with Jacob shooting at the pursuing trucks), some glitches and some (hopefully just still) missing features like melee, but the story is really enjoyable so far, the cut-scenes are great, and the acting especially of Alex Hernandez really carries the story (he was also good in Mafia III). Overall this game could be turned around and I am really glad I bought the game despite the terrible reviews, which are not wholly unjustififed given the still unfishined state of the game. So I see potential here for a great game after fixes and hopefully some missing additions!

Platform: PS5 Pro I had really high hopes this game would be good. Not great or spectacular, just good. I was greatly disappointed by the underdevelopment of this game at launch. The overall quality of the game was terrible. It seems like they had a great idea and vision, but then just released it without testing it or caring to complete the optimization needed to say it’s finished. I requested a refund from PlayStation, but they refused to issue it. This is now my most regretful purchase of 2025. I’ll delete it and save it until 2026 or 2027 until it’s finished.

This game is just terrible. The missions are so poorly designed, boring, and pointless. The weapons are uninteresting. The world is empty and full of bugs. There’s no upgrade system or anything engaging. The drone you have is extremely boring. There’s no police system – you can just do whatever you want with no consequences. You can’t enter any vehicle except your own. The world is closed off – you just drive to a mission and back. No parking, no entering buildings – nothing! The worst game I’ve ever played.
