Loved this! This gave me more Star Wars feels than the entirety of the sequel trilogy combined. Maybe I'm setting the bar immediately low by saying that but seriously this improved on everything from the first game and then some. Great story, great twists, gorgeous graphics and the set pieces were absolutely fantastic (the section on Jedha, just WOW). I also liked the settlement aspect and having a large area in the form of Koboh to explore between the main plot missions. It was fun and interesting enough for me to spend hours just exploring these areas over progressing the main plot. The combat is fun and varied too, you have a lightsaber and force powers but you still have to use your brain and adapt your strategy based on the enemy you're fighting. This presents a more organic and natural challenge rather than just endlessly fighting lesser enemies until your magically strong enough to take the higher level enemies down as is the standard in a lot of games. Can't wait for the next game!

I'm giving this a 3 and Ubisoft can be grateful for it! I loved this series from the very beginning but this was like watching mould form in real time on dirty mug. Ubisoft have somehow taken Vikings and secret organisations battling for control of alien/god artefacts and against all probability made it boring. I have tried and failed twice to get through this game, and I just can't bear to pull myself through a third attempt, I just can't, I have too much to live for. In this games favour the graphics are beautiful and Saxon England does look very pretty as does Norway at the beginning, problem is after the grandeur of Origins and Odyssey it begins to look very bland, very quickly. That's the good point summarised and now on to the bad points: Side quests can't even be named as such, literally talk to an NPC then walk a few meters up the road and kill random dude/pick up thing and come back. The main plot is dull and repetitive and has little or nothing to do with Assassins vs Templars (Order of Ancients). Forging alliances? Just go to city, talk to leader, solve leaders problem in 3-4 mid length boring missions then do that another 8 times until you die of bor--- I mean, until you reach the games exciting conclusion! Even the Viking raids become a wearisome chore, and what do you get for the trouble of plundering all of these monasteries you ask? Building materials to build your settlement! What does that settlement do you ask? NOTHING, much like the average town centre in real life it just gets marginally bigger and has a few more shops and people getting in your way. I mean I think is speaks volumes about a game mechanic when you can pay your actual hard earned money to buy these building materials in one go and get the settlement built quicker. Lastly the ISU stuff has just gotten silly now, I love Norse mythology but this games Asgard and Jotunheim sections were so tedious and boring. My advice? If you want a good game based around Norse mythology pick up God of War or God of War Ragnarok, if you want a good AC game pick ANY of the previous instalments over this one and save yourself 100s of hours of boredom. I may pick up AC Shadows after this but if I do I will just read a summary of the ending to Valhalla first.
