Not good. Simply, not good. [May 2006, p.82]

There's never a shortage of funny. It's refreshing to play an RPG that doesn't take itself too seriously. [May 2006, p.80]

Metal Saga is like a bastard mash-up of Mad Max and Lawrence of Arabia...tanks, deserts, and a post-apocalyptic future that manages to be super boring. [May 2006, p.101]

Genuinely such a cool game with a strange variety of vibes. It holds up today as a game you can get lost in exploring, curious about everything you can find around the world, though it certainly takes up a good chunk of your time! (For better and worse.) Customizing tanks is the coolest thing in the world, good luck using the paint tool tbh but just mixing and matching parts is tons of fun. I love the characters and how alive they feel even with a small number of lines to each of them; they have impact.

Simplesmente o melhor jrpg com elementos de mundo aberto.
Quests,diálogos e personagens divertidos, trilha sonora muito braba e gameplay muito viciante

Great game in a fantastic series of games. Sadly, ignored in the west but Japan has been turning out Metal max games since 1991. Roam the world in a fleet of pinpoint accurate tanks - drive a German Tiger and Maus tank (only 2 were built and they were very heavy but could go underwater), and customise your tanks with an awesome painting option. Tons of fantastic mini-games and some hilarious enemies. It's a comic game as well as taking tanks very seriously.

Metal Saga offers a genuinely open-ended role-playing experience on the console, with the ability to craft your adventure the way you see fit.

Whether or not a player will like this game depends primarily on how they take to the humor, which is offbeat and playful, as well as his or her willingness to look beyond the game's lack of cohesive story.

Metal Saga allows you the complete freedom to roam about in your vehicle of choice (bigass tank, dunebuggy, etc), equipped how you choose, with whomever you choose, to pretty much do whatever you want.

Boring graphics and irritating load times aside, Metal Saga is a half-way decent RPG. The charm lies in the bizarre enemies and the vehicular combat.
55
While a good effort is made, nothing in the game can match the inspired lunacy of Metal Saga's opening minutes.
50
Metal Saga has ... a few one-liners. It possesses no traits to make it stand out among the current role-playing crop - or even the bulk of RPGs from a decade ago. Let this clunker rust.
30
Metal Saga fails to innovate with a lackluster presentation, terrible pacing, and a quest that really doesn't nail down a narrative.

This game is one of my favourite, the very silly elements the series has, the music and Bounty hunting system are all making me crave for more. 10/10

This game is crazy. You will easily believe in tomatoes with knives in a post-apocalyptic wastelands, simply just because the plot allows it. All games limit themselves in many ways, but not this game. Everything can be in this game and it will not break the atmosphere, that's seems geniusly for my point.

Unlike the 2 (4) firsts entries in the series this one is bland and unbalanced. Not much to do in the world, story is almost unexisting and the difficulty curve is railroading the player thorough the game. The olny real freedom is to choose where you go back to grind. Metal Max Returns has state of the art pixel arts. The 3D in low-resolution kinda killed the beauty of it all.
