A fun, fairly long, and witty game—an absolute blast, especially for Guardians of the Galaxy fans. It offers humor, fun, and skill-based gameplay; even though it’s relatively easy, it features a great story, a solid combat system, and excellent character handling. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have replayed it multiple times.

It’s a shame Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy often flies under the radar. After finishing the main story in about 20 hours, my biggest complaint is simply that I wasn't ready for it to end. What truly elevates this game is the writing. It perfectly balances humor with genuine emotional weight a rare feat that makes the banter and constant debates between the crew feel authentic rather than scripted. You aren't just playing as Star-Lord; you’re managing a dysfunctional, lovable family. The gameplay is solid and enjoyable, though I admit the combat mechanics could have been fleshed out a bit more to offer more depth. However, it serves its purpose well enough to keep the momentum going. If you value character-driven storytelling over complex combat systems, this is a must-play. It captures the essence of the Guardians better than many movies have. It’s disheartening to know we might not see a sequel, but this stands as a fantastic, self-contained adventure that left me wanting just a little bit more.

I saw this in my library and remembered back when it came out I thought this game was epic! Didn’t sell much or get much exposure, which is really too bad. I just started playing it again and this game is one of the best Marvel games ever made! Everything about this game screams game awards and it’s too bad that boat has sailed. I hope anyone reading this review plays this game and get ready for a constant smile on your face from start to finish. Superhero masterpiece **** and to see it now play on the PS5Pro…insane graphics!

The only reason I'm not gonna give this game a 10 is because there are a few things that about the lack of combat options for the character that you play as. Other than that, this game is the best game that I've played as of June 2026. This would be my game of the year if it wasn't for the looming behemoth that is GTA VI. The studio behind this game flexed their creative talent and dare I say this game is better than spider man. I've actually not played a bad game from the studio behind this game; this includes the "Avengers" game that many love to hate. I really wish that one was still available to play in some capacity. The story gets deep, the characters are built up in perfect pacing throughout and the combat expands at the right pace. If you can get past the negative reviews and the opening level you'll be greatful you did. I tried this game 4 times before finally committing and I love it! I hope we get more from the studio. Keep those bangers coming. I'll be first in line.

Must be playing something different from everyone else. This game is awful. The first level sums it up perfectly. You're literally in outer space, outer space is zero g, yet characters are "falling" to their deaths. It's okay though because of course if you fall, you're teleported back to whatever surface as if nothing happened. Once you're actually able to engage in combat, you fight a squishy ball. Enemy design is next level bad, like early No Man's Sky bad. Combat also only occurs in clearly defined arenas so you're never surprised when it's coming. Finally everyone yaps way too much. That wouldn't be an issue if they were entertaining or halfway funny. This is that millennial humor that no one has found an audience for. One point for the licensed music. There are some awesome songs here.

Once you get over the initial differences in characters to the movie franchise (especially star Lord) this game is fantastic, with great game play in being able to call in attacks from the other guardians and dialogue that genuinely made me laugh out loud like the movies. Had to platinum this as enjoyed it so much. It’s the game I recommend to anyone, marvel fan or not

This is a really entertaining experience. Story is great and the chemistry between the main cast of characters is fantastic like the movies. Visuals are beautiful and obviously the music is top notch and perfectly timed with the combat segments. Combat is fairly easy to master and it's great to be able to see the interactions between the guardians while listening to the typical Marvel banter. Not going to spoil anything but the final boss is absolutely epic and I nearly jumped out of my seat when the music hit. As a Marvel fan and an avid gamer this checks all the boxes for me.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is a good video game I would give it a strong B+ to a soft A- it gets kinda repetitive but the story cool

Really good graphics and great Spanish voice acting. I'm really impressed by how good this game is in every aspect. This game has soul; it was clearly made with lots of love, paying attention to many details and featuring well-written dialogue for every **** combat and the story are very good too. Although it's not necessary, I recommend watching the three movies before playing this game, even though the story is a bit different (I guess it's also based on the **** rating is a solid 8.5, and it's been a long time since I last gave such a high score. If you've played a lot of games, you might even rate it **** took me more than 20 hours because I tried to explore most places. I also found a couple of minor glitches, but they aren't really important.I don't know, this game just exceeded my expectations, and I'm really happy to have played it. Enjoy!

Great game. The well written characters, the beatiful scenarios, and all the interactions between characters are delightful. The gameplay is in the right spot between dificult and entertaining, combat gives you a lot of options to face enemies so you may never get bored because you have to actually think and react according to the situation.

Historia muy entrañable y con demasiado corazón, es gracioso y llega a tener momentos verdaderamente épicos, el gameplay no es el mejor pero no llega a ser aburrido, los escenarios son increíbles y super creativos y el único problema algo grande que tuve fueron algunos bugs pero en general es un gran juego en todo sentido, obviamente la música es uno de sus puntos más fuertes

Really enjoyed this game. Gameplay was a little wonky, particularly when using other characters abilities. But eventually got the hang of it. Didn't care for the dialogue portion of the game though

A very solid linear story game. Combat was solid, story was consistently entertaining and didn't overstay its welcome, good progression with fun abilities to unlock, a varied cast with multiple story arcs, and some absolutely jaw-dropping visuals and settings. There's just no aspect I disliked.

Good story; it was the normal post 2020 marvel cheesy and heartfelt. Combat was ok, it wasn't clunky but there was definitely some stuff that the enemies did that you couldn't counter immediately that made it kind of cheap. The characters were cool as the movies with a bit more depth. Overall, good game wasn't great, not every game has to be. The main reason I rated it the way I did was because its a marvel game, its copy/paste story with copy/paste combat nothing new and different and nothing super interesting.

Fun game that has a good story and very good characters. I haven't read any of the comics but believe this is a very food adaptation. The characters is so good, the conversations feels real and not scripted. The story is overall good and engageing and the pacing is very good. The biggest flaw is the combat. I played ut on hard and it wasn't really challenging. I love the concept but the execution still has some way to go. If it ever gets a sequel i think it will be an awsome game

Best Marvel’s game done till yet! I enjoyed everything; the combats were also great. It has not a revolutionary story, but man, I love the characters, dialogues, and the atmosphere. If done by the same team, I would buy a second Marvel’s game with closed eyes.

Wow, i wasn´t expecting such a great game! Graphics and world design are beautiful and suprising, the story has some great moments and the characters are well written and feel really alive. Only the gameplay could feel a bit clumsy, and some more weapons for the main character should be inclouded, but overall a fantastic 15-20 hour experience.

Le jeu n’est pas si mal, mais les personnages ne sont pas les mêmes dans le film (faute de moyens ? Marvel ?) et le jeu est extrêmement facile, et les développeurs ont peur qu’on ne finisse pas le jeu.

I actually really enjoyed this. Far more than I thought I would. I never would have guessed that a single player game with the Guardians would have worked, but it did. There are a few moments that seem to spike in difficulty, like out of nowhere a very simple game becomes a bit much. Still, I liked everything about this one.

Немного раздражало, когда диалоги прерывались во время геймплея, потому что хочется дослушать, а ты случайно сделал действие, которое запускает другой диалог. В целом дубляж, похоже криво сделан, даже если стоишь на месте, фразы часто обрываются ни с того ни с сего, а диалоги накладываются друг на друга. Команда реагирует почти на любую твою выходку - пошёл не туда, решил что-то рассмотреть, всё это вызывает у них какую-то реакцию что забавно. Анимации такое себе, особенно добивания в боях прям на очень низком уровне, ну и баги встречались. Удивило, что можно выбирать варианты в диалогах, и даже есть какие-то последствия, пусть и не слишком значимые. Сюжет меня не особо зацепил, я не фанат комиксов, но для тех кто тащится, тут настоящее сокровище - уйма пасхалок, из которых даже я несколько заметил. Игре чутка больше бы бюджета на анимацию и более интересные бои (потому что к середине игры боёвка уж сильно приедается - слишком много хаоса где мало что контролируешь и вообще можешь разобрать), и игра была бы прям на высочайшем уровне, а так в целом вышла годная игра.

Could have had a bit more perks to unlock or bonus perks at the end, I unlocked all the perks for Star-Lord and all of the abilities for my teammates by the end of chapter 10. There could have been a little more explorationadded but even with those small gripes this game was a breath of fresh air in the endless sea that is open world games. Each level, the subtle changes you're r able to make to the narrative, as well as the baseline story were all lovingly created. This game is a must for any true Marvel Comics fan. While there is some stuff from the MCU, it mainly sticks to the actual comic books. Very well done Edios Montreal.

One of the most enjoyable games i ever played, and imo thats what games are for, entertainment, and this, it does it and well.

Don’t sleep on this game. I completely missed this game and, oddly, hadn’t heard of it until I saw it on PS+. While the core gameplay is a touch basic (i.e. combat and weapon upgrades), the story is exceptional, which more than makes up for some of the less refined RPG elements. The voice acting in this game is sublime and adds great weight to the stellar visuals. It is vibrant and what you would expect from a Guardians game (well, more than I would have expected). In the never-ending cycle of open-world "slop" of the last 5–10 years, it was refreshing to have a linear story-driven experience. The humour is on point, and the heavier drama elements hit surprisingly hard. It is a shame this game is not likely to see a sequel as it certainly deserves it. Compared to other recent offerings from Marvel, this game puts them to shame. Highly recommended. I would have happily paid for the game had it been better advertised at release.

A fun and colorful squad-based action game that captures the humor and tone of the MCU movies. It nails the banter between the Guardians and the 80's rock/pop soundtrack is great. The game's fast action is complimented by tight controls. It's easy to guide Quill while commanding the team to attack with their distinct powers. The levels are expansive and exploration will reward you with backstory logs, additional character skins and loot. You can upgrade Quill with special abilities at "work benches" and level up each character as you earn XP points. And during certain points, you'll choose from two different dialogues which will determine how the game plays out. Overall, I'd rate "Guardians" with an 8.2 out of 10.

This game goes on for far too long. By the time I've finally met the villain I'd been playing for 8 hours of non-stop bickering between 5 dudes who REFUSE to endear themselves to the player. You get into a combat encounter where everyone spouts the same 3 lines perpetually. Then you run through mostly empty corridors while everyone complains about each other. Rinse repeat until all you want is for everyone to shut up. They never will, by the way. They'll just talk and whine and bicker and complain about everything FOR HOURS. The little moments are great where you have nicely written dialogues getting to know the characters. Then you go right back to the endless bickering. I can't do it anymore. I WON'T do it anymore. This is a game that's technically fine but still uncomeatable to me. If I have to hear one more snide comment about literally anything I do I'm going to put a controller through my screen. I'm simply done.

An excellent game for Marvel fans! It delivers solid gameplay, impressive graphics, and great immersion. There’s a lot of dialogue — maybe even too much — but overall the experience is really fun. Character progression is well done, and it often feels like playing through a long, interactive movie.

What a great surprise Eidos-Montréal has brought us with Guardians of the Galaxy! It's the boldest Marvel superhero story to date, daring to explore things that haven't been touched on any screen (without discrediting the excellent work of the MCU movies, which have much less time to tell a story). GAMEPLAYIt's a third-person game where you control Peter Quill, "Star-Lord", and issue commands to your teammates, the Guardians of the Galaxy. Combat combines tactical elements with shooter mechanics — the action is a bit chaotic, offering great moments full of gunfire, punches, special powers, and good music. A downside is that some transitions between animations slightly tarnish the visuals, and a few controls are poorly designed — sometimes you try to perform a move, and the game does something else. But overall, these issues don't significantly affect the **** STORYWhile the MCU needed three Guardians films and two Avengers movies to develop all the characters, this game takes a lot from what James Gunn brought us — and builds on it. However, the story smartly skips over how the crew of the Milano met. Bypassing the origin story, we dive straight into the adventure, which begins with an innocent mishap and evolves into one of the most entertaining missions I’ve seen to kick off a video game, introducing characters I personally didn’t expect at all. Narratively, it's a bold and successful game. THE CHARACTERSI love how the whole crew has completely different personalities, which allows for solid and well-delivered comedy. Throughout the game, they evolve, accept each other, and form a little family. The character performances are excellent, even in the Latin American Spanish dub — everything fits the emotions expressed in each moment. WHAT A GREAT SOUNDTRACK Soundtracks are a key part of every game, but in this one, it’s crucial, because it's actually a gameplay mechanic. And God, how I love being in a fight while listening to great songs from the '80s. There’s not much more to say about such an awesome song selection. TECHNICALLY SPEAKING The graphics are quite good, even without ray tracing — the game looks great. It performs well, both with and without ray tracing, and with graphics settings maxed out. I didn't experience any FPS drops or strange texture loading. It’s surprising that in this day and age, when we often act as beta testers, this game is so polished. MY CONCLUSION It's not a masterpiece, but within this new phase of Marvel games, it’s one of the best. It offers an excellent story, fun gameplay, a gorgeous soundtrack, and great graphics and performance. So it’s impossible for me to tell you not to buy this game — I totally recommend it.What did this galaxy ever do for you? Why do you want to save it? Because I’m one of the idiots who lives in it! Nuff said.

Excellent writing and fun play of roughly 15 hours, the combat is repetitive towards the end but the story was worth enduring the last few hours for. I haven’t chuckled so much during gaming!

It's a fantastic game that unfortunately faced skepticism due to the previously released and poorly received Marvel game Avengers. At first, I also thought it wouldn't amount to much. Especially since the characters did not match the faces of the actors from the films. But after playing it, I can honestly say that this choice was right. The game is full of creativity, life, nice music and a great story. Players really appreciate it, and I'm confident that a sequel would also be financially successful, as long as it maintains the same level of quality. So please just do it. Don't give up. As I said, without the bad Avengers game, the success would certainly have been better. Now everyone knows. The world needs great games and Guardians of the Galaxy is one of them.

One of the few games ive now played 3 times to finish. I love the characters the story the way they interact with each other. Wish there was a second one

If there's one thing Squeenix can do, its make a fun and solid action RPG. GOTG is fun and has some good moments. Its not GOTY or best game ever, but a fun game with RPG elements, and best of all. NO crisp rat!

I had so much fun playing this great game. Got the platinium trophy very easy!
