Mario Party 10

At its core, Mario Party 10 is just another Mario Party game, but it is also the best one. Smash Brothers and Mario Kart are superior “gamers’ games”, but for partying with friends or family members who only play casually, you can’t get much better than this.

Play it with a few good friends or family members and it can be the video game equivalent of a bowl of soup for your soul, leaving you smiling, content, and just generally feeling pretty good.

Mario Party 10 introduces some great new uses for the Wii U GamePad and makes smart use of the Amiibo figurines, but unfortunately its main mode is still bogged down with bad ideas from Mario Party 9. If you ignore the main mode and explore everything else the game has to offer there is definitely fun to be had here, but it doesn’t live up to the series’ colorful, deceptively deep gameplay history.

Nintendo, instead of developing an experience specifically created for Nintendo Wii U, decided to show in Mario Party 10 the same formulas of the previous titles, finishing inexorably to offer something already seen.

Mario Party 10 holds few surprises, but still offers great moments if you spread them out enough.

Nintendo has forced itself to find ways to change this series over its many sequels, but it’s actually at a worst place than it started off. The Bowser Party mode at least does some interesting things with the Wii U GamePad, but it still isn’t as fun as a regular 20-turn game on the original Mario Party.

When playing a good skill-based minigame it can be a blast, but these moments are far too fleeting. It's a fun game to stick on when you've got company round from time to time, but don't overdo it or it won't be long before people stop accepting your party invites.

Mario Party 10 is by far my favorite game ever made, so much good stuff was put into this game that people just over look because "it has the car." Minigames are easily the best in the series not a single bad one in this game, Boards are fantastic like Mushroom Park, Airship Central, and Choas Castle, Bowser Party exists, and the list goes on. 10 is easily better then 9 in almost every way. 11/10 way better then Bomberman Act Zero on the Xbox 360.

A fine game, I do have some problems however. A whole mode being locked behind amiibos and the bowser (normal) mode depending totally on whether you play with people or not.. It has some positives like it's extras and maps, yet these and it's minigames get IN MY OPINION overshadowed by 9, though both are hated by the community so..

This game is so underrated. The Bowser Party is a new challenge, and it's a lot of fun to play with friends. However, it's true that the series has lost some of its originality, and Mario Party is just an extension of 9

This game is not terrible, what makes me rate it so low is how good it's prequals were. Marioparty 8 is far better, but I guess that's what Nintendo gets for giving the IP to NDCube.

Middling game that doesn't bring enough to the table to warrant it's price tag. Bowser mode is fun and new but underwhelming for sheer lack of content that ultimately gives way to quick repetition. The vehicle mechanic is back, removing player agency and swiftly ensuring all rounds play exactly the same without much variety to player input. It's like the development team just slept walk from start to finish, there's no passion or inventiveness to the shallow, boring and linear stage designs. Mini games are fun but are nowhere near enough to save the game. Pass on this game unless you can get it for 30 dollars or less, there's much better Mario party games out there that you can easily get for cheaper.
