Lifted is a bombastic platformer full of action scenes and witty one liners, but if you're used to the genre you'll likely find it rather basic.

LIFTED captures the charm of classic family platformers with enjoyable traversal, clever puzzles, and exciting chase sequences, but its predictable story and relentlessly quippy dialogue keep it from reaching the same heights as its gameplay.

Lifted is a game that is full of heart and charm, and it looks and sounds like it. Unfortunately, that heart and charm are buried in a generic action-adventure story spread across overly simplistic gameplay that doesn’t really do enough for long enough to become anything other than just okay. It’s a perfectly okay six-hour experience that is easily accessible and family-friendly, and I guarantee that for that reason, it’s going to have an audience that grapples their way into this experience and never let go, but there’s simply not enough here to recommend this game.

Lifted is a special little game that manages to effortlessly charm despite its imperfections. It’s a throwback to classic platforming I didn’t know I was needing, all the while being the Back to the Future sequel I know I have dreamed about for decades. I hope it’s not the last we see of Ari Buktu, and I’ll happily board his time-travelling elevator again—anytime.

Despite technical flaws that can be slightly annoying, LIFTED still stands as an enjoyable adventure if you have a little patience to overlook its collision issues. The fast pace and easy navigation make up for the execution errors. In the end, the game delivers a great, fun entry point into the world of video games, making it a solid recommendation, especially for a younger audience.
