There's a reason this title is still talked about today. It's true, among all the choice-based games, it has some of the worst gameplay. Even simply walking is uncomfortable, and the available actions are unclear, so you risk making mistakes and changing the story for the worse. On the other hand, the plot is well-crafted, the four characters are very interesting, and nothing is by chance, and you get the feeling that every choice is crucial to how the story unfolds. Furthermore, it succeeds in conveying anxiety and sadness from beginning to end, fueled by the dark atmosphere that sets in immediately after the prologue.

Its alright, I loved the motion gimmicks and the quick-time events because I am an enjoyer of fun. The story was okay but not as life-changing as I was led to believe. Overall I enjoyed it but I would not revisit it anytime soon.

Heavy Rain is the best work of Quantic Dreams, The story is pretty strong and simple making you understand it pretty easily with no further complications, the ambientation is very well archived giving you all the vibes that this games wants you to feel. If I had to say something that could be improved about this game, is that the impact in the story that you have as a player doesn't really change, is always the same, you choose for the decision A or B and that's it, and the thing is that every decision leads to the same path until you reach the final.

My Review – Heavy Rain – 10/10 I gave Heavy Rain a 10 out of 10 because it is one of the most emotionally powerful and immersive narrative-driven games ever made. From start to finish, the game fully commits to its interactive drama approach, making every decision feel meaningful and personal. The story is gripping, mature, and relentlessly tense, pulling you into a dark, rain-soaked mystery where your choices directly shape the outcome. The multiple playable characters are deeply human and flawed, and the way their stories intersect creates an unforgettable sense of urgency and emotional weight. The use of motion controls and contextual actions enhances immersion, making you feel physically involved in each intense moment rather than simply watching events unfold. The soundtrack, atmosphere, and cinematic presentation perfectly complement the game’s somber tone, while the branching narrative and multiple endings encourage reflection and replayability. Even with some minor gameplay quirks, the emotional impact, storytelling ambition, and player agency far outweigh any flaws. Heavy Rain is a masterclass in interactive storytelling, and that is why it earns a well-deserved 10/10.

This game could be ol but the atmosphere and story is so good that easily can effect anyone who likes play interactive games aura and plot twits of the game is just so good the only bad thing is the mechanics are not really good but it also give a special character to quanricdream games

Absolutely terrible controls! It may be a decent story in the end, but the controls make it not worth bothering. It’s also so boring! You really have to want to play these Quantic games, else you’ll give up due to the appalling gameplay. It’s like they’ve never seen another game and wanted to make stuff up from scratch; but failed miserably in their arrogance. Never again!

great game that choies actually matter. the only bad thing is the voice acting

As someone who experienced the game quite late, I never believed an interactive story could affect me this deeply or win me over so completely. The game’s depressive atmosphere and the sheer weariness embodied by Ethan Mars are portrayed to perfection. For me, this is a masterpiece—one I have yet to see surpassed, and honestly, I doubt I ever will.

The plot (or narrative) of this game is terrible. The scenes where music is used feel ridiculous, and I couldn't feel any emotional connection. Furthermore, the events are highly predictable and sometimes unfold in an illogical manner.

This game is absolute cinema even it's old.There are a few mistakes in the scenerio but other than that it's very good.

This is exactly my type of game, I love DBH, Until Dawn, The Quarry etc. but sadly, the ending here is unsatisfactory. You're at the edge of your seat throughout the whole game, but all the finale does is reveal inconsistencies and plot holes. Explaining unanswered mysteries in bonus documentaries and cut content is not an excuse.

Emotionally ambitious and interactive, though control schemes and acting quality vary wildly across scenes.

Unique game, one of a kind. Nothing to do with their other games set in some future science fiction setting or in a horror setting. This game is down to earth and that's what makes this game the only actual masterpiece in this unique genre. I can only wish for more, but sadly the dev has chosen for Star Wars Eclipse.

Voice acting isn't always great. Character can be unintentionally goofy & sterotypical. Story is okay. This is a point & click adventure with long button presses that kind of annoy me.

На мой взгляд эта игра являлась эталоном в жанре интерактивного кино! Как же пробирала до мурашек история о сыне и отце! Отличная смесь QTE, исследования локаций и принятия непростых решений!!!Управление местами доставляло неудобства, но это в любом случае 100 из 10.

Quel jeu incroyable. Graphiquement çà reste beau même 15 ans après. Le gameplay m'a surpris, mais au final il colle bien au style du jeu. Le déplacement des persos n'est pas facile à prendre en main, mais on s'y fait. Le scénario est haletant, étouffant parfois quand on doit prendre certaines décisions difficiles dont les conséquences sont irréversibles! La bande son et les musiques participent bien à l'ambiance lourde de ce titre. Un jeu qui marque à coup sûr.

This is the game that made Supermassive Games popular and known. Many people to this day still claim this is the best visual novel/limited movement styled game ever made. However, I disagree. It just has less options to do here than other games and some of the plot progression can be very slow. Also, this is a kidnapping mystery so if you're not into that, this isn't for you. I like those if they are done well and this is done decently. I was curious enough to keep playing but it wasn't addicting like it should've been. I like some of the moments that made you question who did it and some of the clues you find along the way. Overall, there are movements and control issues present and the story is decent but nothing special. You have good moments but they never amount to anything grand.

Невозможно описать насколько эта игра ужасна. Ужасный сюжет, ужасное управление, ужасные диалоги, нулевая логика и отвратительные решения героев. Серьёзно, самый очевидный и простой в плане логики вариант - просто не существует, персонажи постоянно делают не то что банально и логично, из-за чего попадают в глупейшие и нелепейшие ситуации, что-бы сюжет хоть как-то двигался дальше. Тут нет никакой "гениальности" или "смысловой нагрузки". Полное отсутствие вменяемых и взвешенных выборов, зачастую самый нелепый, абсурдный и антилогичный вариант будет верным. Спойлерить не буду, но те, кто уже прошёл игру и смотрел "Индиана Джонс и Королевство хрустального черепа" меня поймут насколько тут всё ужасно.

A game that was great when it first released but now it really hasn't aged well because the acting is at times good other times laughably bad, the story is interesting but flawed, a twist that could have been handled better, the controls and fixed camera angles are really clunky, the visuals are still very good almost 15 years later, the action scenes are intense and exciting, the soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal, some characters are likable and some aren't but I would still recommend playing this game even if it has quite a few flaws and hasn't aged very well

Pretty weak game with a moderately tolerable story. Clunky controls, schizophrenic interface, and a constant string of QuickTime events make this game a let down and not worth a second playthrough.

It's a game with awesome plot. Gameplay in this game is harder than in other games of Quantic Dream. A lot of endings is a big plus for games in this genre. ILIKEIT!

For most of the game I had this as a 9/10. Graphically still looks great in 2023, the story is interesting, the approach of various characters was great and the controls, although a bit clunky at times were inventive. I did have to knock a point off for the "canon" ending. The killers identity didn't really work for me and was disappointing. A great game, let down a little at the end.

David Cage hizo un gran trabajo con Heavy Rain, ya no sólo por haber creado un videojuego accesible para personas con poca experiencia en el mundo del gaming gracias a la dinámica de los QTEs, sino que además consigue crear momentos icónicos en cada capítulo, y que se ven muy alterados por nuestras decisiones y por nuestros errores. Un título muy recomendable y que ha transformado el género de los videojuegos cinematográficos.

A very underrated gem nowadays, with a dark and gritty tone, and a gripping story to keep players invested until the end. It’s one of the few games I’ve played where I wanted to keep the story going, rather than wanting to reach the end.

A forgotten gem. Harrowing, moody and dark. Tremendous story, great choice and consequence. Tons of replay value. Go go go.

Produkcja, która wywołała u mnie smutek i żal. Oczywiście pozytywnie postrzegam tę grę pod kątem historii oraz tego jak bardzo gracz jest w niej interaktywny. Polecam każdemu, kto lubi życiowe gry i jest empatyczną osobą.

Oynadığım ilk quantic dream oyunu. Gerçi buna oyun diyebilir miyiz bilmiyorum oyundan ziyade bir hikayeyi kararlarımızla yönlendirmek üzerine kurulu. Oynanış anlamında bir çekiciliği olmasa bile verdiğin kararların etkisini görmek güzel.

Jogo incrivel pela historia... um pouco secante no principio... mas depois o vicio pela historia aumenta, so parei no final..

Giocato e finito nel 2022. Bella trama, ottimo colpo di scena finale. Sistema di controllo che risulta (ovviamente) datato, e sistema di selezione delle scelte a volte non molto chiara. Doppiaggi a volte così così. Premio l'originalità del gioco, e il buon livello di coinvolgimento che garantisce.

REAL SCORE 8.3. This is a very good game. Is not easy to do this type of games but I think this has achieved the honor to be named one of the best of his own genre.

História e gráficos incríveis, apenas peca em não possuir dublagem em PT-BR, mas os personagens e acontecimentos valem muito a pena.

Ambitious but limited game trying to be a movie and ending up as a joke. The cascade of choices is an illusion for most of the game, pushing the protagonists onwards on rails to move the plot forward. It's a rip off of Se7en just with lots of plot holes.

There's some awkward dialogue here and there. However, the overall experience is fantastic.
