Naxxramas is an excellent addition to the core game, and an exploration of sorts to examine the potential for additional single-player Hearthstone content. While there is little replay value to the encounters themselves, the adventure provides a substantial amount of new content that spills over into ranked, casual, and arena mode and changes how you approach the game.

As a single-player campaign for Hearthstone, Curse of Naxxramas provides quite a bit of bang for your buck.

The single-player feels more like a puzzle, but the new cards make this essential for vets. [Nov 2014, p.69]

'Curse of Naxxramas' is an expansion positioned towards more seasoned players, acting as welcome respite from the climb of the Ranked ladder or the unpredictable gauntlet of the Arena, and rewards with powerful cards you'll keep using long after it's over.

A much-needed and fun refresher for Blizzard’s card battler, although the next card expansion will need to be more sizeable.

The Curse of Naxxramas is expensive. But, it's absolutely necessary. Blizzard has managed to give us a superb game, Hearthstone, to later charge us for this singleplayer DLC. However, here we have good cards and a lot of new strategies.

I'd love to see more add-ons like this in the future, and hope Blizzard supports Hearthstone for years to come. However you look at it, bare-bones or not, Naxx is a great start.

Curse of Naxxramas is a fun expansion, that besides giving the player a bunch of bosses to test their skills against, also delivers 30 new and (mostly) interesting cards to play with.
