Not a whole lot to this game but fan service and some fun action. Godzilla fans should play and it's pretty fun for casual play just don't expect a whole bunch of depth.

its a good game but the game has no updates it will be cool if they had shin godzilla and the monster verse titans in the game like kong mecha godzilla and more and maybe the game can get better and have more citys like hong kong but the can use a update and make the game better and it will be cool if they had pacific rim but thats why i think it needs a update

Es un juego cutre gráficamente hablando, pero es muy divertido, y tiene ese toque japonés raro que ha mucha gente fuera del país asiático le fascina por alguna razón. Sinceramente, si te gusta Godzilla y los juegos japoneses, recomiendo al menos darle una oportunidad. No es un juego para todo el mundo, pero está plagado de referencias y guiños al universo de Godzilla que a muchos fans les encantará. Y a los que no lo son, pues mejor evitar este titulo y jugar a otra cosa.

I don’t have that game and it doesn’t feel like a Godzilla game when I watched YouTube videos as a kid I mean every thing feels like it’s cramped in (2023)

This is not Save the Earth. I think everyone got accustom to the Pipeworks but this is not one of those games. This is a Godzilla movie simulator not a fighting game. But yes it is rough-around-the-edges, yes the graphics aren't super good. At the end of the day it does have a lot of replay value and the gameplay is repetitive but fun

While the gameplay gets rather repetitive I really enjoy the simplicity of being just able to hop the game and destroy everything as a giant kaiju. Unlocking everything is definitely a grind but I enjoy the Godzilla franchise so it wasn't a problem. I like how they had the option for English or Japanese voices as well as a some of Godzillas classic music. A perfect game it is not but to a fan of all things Godzilla I think there's something there to keep you coming back.

If your not a huge fan of the series I can see how the game could be boring and seen as not polished. But if you are a huge Godzilla fan it has plenty of play through value, trophies to earn and online play! Highly recommend for the Godzilla fans out there! This game gets a lot of negative press but I love it!

It's more **** simulator than a fighting game, and it completely succeeds at that. If you want a fighting game, go play the Pipeworks Godzilla trilogy. This is for fans that want to live the films.

With ropy graphics, repetitive gameplay and wretched controls, Godzilla is so bad that it’s almost lovable. You get a lot of classic kaiju to play with, and smashing them through the sights of Tokyo can be strangely entertaining. Sadly, it’s not entertaining enough to warrant paying out for a full-price game.

Time to set the story straight. This game, objectively, is O.K. The controls are clunky, the graphics are mediocre, and it gets repetitive fast, but there's fun to be had. If you aren't a godzilla fan, don't even think about touching this. However, if you are a fan, then this may just be the perfect game for you. And since I am a fan, this game is bloody awesome! The problem is people think of this like the Pipeworks godzilla games when it isn't. You, as the player can control a variety of kaiju to appear in the godzilla franchise, although you only start with '84 godzilla. You can rampage through the game, unlocking more monsters as you go, each of which have incredibly faithul ability sets. As I said, the controls are clunky, but what do you expect? You aren't playing as a yoga instructor, you're playing as a 60m tall, slow, strong kaiju. The controls are perfect in that regard. All the biggest, most important monsters are here, and also, your favourite is likely in the roster (sorry Orga fans, but he isn't in it). The graphics aren't the best, but they help emulate that rubber-suit feel. In fact that's what I can say for the game as a whole. In it's mediocrity, it manages to capture the feeling like YOU ARE a monster in a godzilla flick. I only really have 2 complaints, though. 1, is that when your playing as a REALLY big monster, such as Destoroyah or Mecha King Ghidora, the camera has a hard time finding a spot where you can actually see more than 2 feet ahead of you. Also, the G-Force Operator constantly comments on events, and it can get annoying. Especially considering that it shouldn't even be possible for the kaiju to hear it. Overall, this game is really hard to enjoy for people who aren't fans. But if you are a fan, buy it as soon as possible. I admit, if I bought this full price, this review would be very different, but nowadays, you can grab it for about 20 bucks. A price i think is a bit low, but the cheaper the better, I suppose. It's such a shame that the poor reception this got will make the idea of a sequel nothing but a Godzilla fan's wet dream. But hey, at least the fans will always be here to cherish it.

As much as people love to hate on this Godzilla game, I actually loved it. It was a cinematic game, which is rare, and you had so many monsters to choose from. With really good graphics for a monster game. It felt like you were in the game. The only thing negative I have to say was it was slow, I wanted the game to move faster, like in Godzilla: Save the Earth.

Great in-game graphics that run at 60fps. Only the cut scene graphics are poor. Smashing buildings is fun, the kaiju feel very powerful when you level them up.

Oh my god I love me some Godzilla, I've played all the fighting games.. but **** this game and burn it with fire my friends. This game is an unbalanced incoherent mess, Hedorah slaughters everyone but Biollante who just barrels through everyone and they broke Destroyah... how do you do that? How do you break the best monster to be the worst monster I've seen. No wait, Rodan. L1+R1+Triangle wins every damn time. This game is just as broken as everyone says, I am NOT on a bandwagon here, it's seriously that bad.

I got this cheap and if you like Godzilla or you like a quick 5 minute rampage through a city you should get this. It gets repetitive fast and you have to grind to level up, but for 5-20 minute bursts, this is glorious fun and is something I keep coming back to.

Godzilla is a very poorly made game. It has bad, BAD controls, terrible "Story" (if you can call it that), and the game crashed on me multiple times. the only good thing about this game is it's fan service. If you're a Godzilla fan and you find the game for $15 or less, buy it.

This game is absolutely appalling. I would not recommend this to anyone, even die hard godzilla fans. The story is the worst story I have ever played it's so repetitive you have to destroy generators over and over. the graphics are terrible and its the worst game I've played yet.

Tedious, lacking in content, boring, linear, absolutely no story (not that it was expected) and next-to-no effort put into just about anything in this game. An absolute disaster which wouldn't be worth a two dollar purchase, let alone a full price 60 dollar one. Why not zero for score. Well, there were a couple of "that was pretty cool" moments. But that has all been stained by complete imbalance in online versus against other players, aggravating game play against the A.I., repetitive game play all around and no local versus or co op play. Something I felt was an absolute must for this game. Overall, a perfect example of how to not make a Godzilla game.

This game is total crap. Worst game of the year. Destroying cities might have been fun if it wasn't clunky and unresponsive to control. Repetitive missions. Grinding to get bigger. Nothing is good about this game. **** no.

This game is good if you're a die hard Godzilla fan. It has almost all the monsters from the series, but it's difficult to control your character like making it turn around for example.

This game overall is a handful of problems but with playing it I have to say that there are surprisingly ups and downs to the game. So first the “ups”; the graphics are decent, the models of the monsters are great, the effects are decent along with the physics, and the intros to some of the monsters look good and cinematic. **** the “downs”; The games level designs are okey but THERE REPETITIVE! why i don't know, Then the combat which is so bad that i can’t explain in this review but i'll say that the AI seem to know every combo to use in the game and that it will get annoying when every time you attack at the same time of the enemy if they hit you first you will instantly stop whatever attack you were doing. Now with me overall scoring this at a 4, I will say at the lest that this game is bad but I will say that I do recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Godzilla, doesn't mind bad game play, and love to see all your favorite monsters fight. ^_^

There were two games I bought the PS4 for. The Last of Us Remastered and Godzilla. When I saw Angry Joes review for the game, I decided to wait for the price to drop before picking up the game. I am disappointed that the latest Godzilla game isn't that great. As a game its incredibly repetitive and and lacking content. But I'm a hardcore Godzilla fan and I actually did enjoy running around as a kaiju destroying buildings(you'd think someone would make an open world godzilla game like that) and fighting other monsters even if the combat in the game is simple. It's fun unlocking my favorite kaijus and playing as them, that entertained me, but after playing through the campaign over 100 time, I've gotten sick of it and needed a break. This game could of been so much more and it's not worth buying if you're not a hardcore Godzilla fan. For Hardcore Godzilla fans this isn't worth buying new or full price, go out and buy a cheap use copy if your curious.

Horrible, just horrible. Play anything else, "Rampage: Total destruction" is a better Godzilla simulator than this. Just save your money and watch the movies, well not the 1998 one.

I HAVE SEEN "FREE TO PLAY" ONLINE MMO DEMOS THAT OFFE MORE THEN THIS $60 PLAY AT HOME GAME. Ignore the 10 and huge rated user reviews from the fanboys or mod accounts my the developers to get this game **** graphics might be amazing, the scenery it might be beautiful ( which it isn't it's all blow texture copy and paste buildings all over the damn place and scenery is worse with the crappy weather affects), but the fight mechanics are sloppy and the gameplay's main story is ONE HOUR. you cannot play versus mode with two people in the same room it's like two friends in the same room with two controllers playing one system in now obsolete. and if you don't have a PlayStation plus account you MUST have one in order to play online versus mode so that's $60 for this game and more money to play the online features. The fighting in the game is EXTREMELY frustrating you can't get one hit in without the AI monster constantly interrupting your attack they can you drop your tab and you can enjoy their attack which I find a tedious. it's very noisy you have to unlock everything which forces you to play this joke **** game. there is no balance of the comes to fighting especially in online find mode CQB a level to find someone it's a level 69 there's no set matching in online versus mode, there are no variations want to come to the main story, and to unlock oh yeah the kind you you can have to replay the main story OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. The Evolution mode isnt a freaking mode it's an upgrade screen and your upgrades don't carryover to the next location it all resets for you to read purchase those upgrades all over again. do yourself a favor and IGNORE all the ratings with green and game reviews with high praise from blind bias fanboys this is not a "Must have for diehard Godzilla fans" this game is absolute garbage you deserve to save your money for some better! So, this is terrible. I'm a pretty huge fan for Godzilla if I do say so myself, so I was curious on hearing of a new Godzilla game. I hadn't played one in many years, Godzilla saves the earth being the last I had. I remember enjoying that game pretty fairly. Not that great, not that bad. But this, this game slaps you across the face and then pukes on you. A crappy ps3 port from Japan, the game looks disgustingly outdated and it's online functionality is on par with throwing your router out the damn window and then attempting to stream on Twitch. Stay far away from this disgusting thing. If it weren't for the fact that it functioned and had some of my favorite monsters in it, it would be even lower than a three.

WTF is this disaster! this game is laughable at best and one of the worst games for the ps4 at worst. This piece of **** don't even worth $20, they charge you with the full price $60 and they even want you to pay if you want to play online!! That's insane, the game is not even decent, it's an unplayable disaster. In top of that there's no offline multiplayer is you are enough troll to make someone suffer from playing this garbage at your side. The Graphics are a disaster, and the game looks like a ps2 game at best,. The bugs and glitches are common in this game and the texture detail is blurry and bad designed. The gameplay is maybe the worst part here, Godzilla moves like a robot, add that a bad hitbox detection and you have a very boring and repetitive game. the buildings explode instead of just fall, i can't believe this disaster has been released for ps4. You can see how bad this game is when you see godzilla melt into the buildings, and he has like 2 or 3 movements that really ****. If you want to waste your money ($60+$20 for 3 months ps plus) so that's $80 bucks for play this **** awful game. This is probably one of the worst godzilla games ever made, the online quests does not make any sense, like destroying generators, if they are going to charge that much money, you expect something at least funny, but this game will dissapoint you in any way. 1/10

This game is ok but not the best. You have to give it a break because most games based off of movies aren't very well made. The multiplayer is poorly developed and the graphics are bad. I wouldn't recommend it.

I am amazed that this game was approved for release, and even more flabbergasted how they deemed it a full retail release (sort of.) Graphics are generally disgusting, basically on par with a high school weekend project. But to be fair the creature design was decent. Gameplay is just .....well, almost non-existant. A main campaign that is embarrassingly short, bare bones online MP (if you even want to call it that.) This game assumes it is highly replayable ..... ONLY BECAUSE IT IS INTENTIONALLY MADE THAT WAY!!!!! It is mind numbingly repetitive with nothing really driving you to even want to play again, yet alone multiple times. *Supreme facepalm* This game is an abomination. Overall: It is clear that there is a good idea behind the game and the team behind it really did want to make a game that was worthy of the name, as there are enough references to indicate the creators were big Godzilla fans. BUT, this is an incomplete game at best. Almost like 20% in to production they just gave up, polished up what little they did do , and put it out for sale. This Godzilla game is a shining example of why games in this condition are better off cancelled. Note to the production team: You should all be ashamed of this. Back alley discount prostitutes have more dignity than this. For shame!

I watched Angry Joe's review and I totally disagree this game is a masterpiece game of the year material which is hard for me to say as Cory in the house is nearly as good but the graphics are better than any pc rig can handle and I would give my left nut for a sequel to this game as this game is worthy of it screw Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 they have nothing compared to this 9/11 IGN would play again for more Godgirra fighting scenes

This game is a love letter to long-time fans of Godzilla. With around 50 characters it can sustain interest for a long time. The lumbering controls and raw power of Godzilla himself give the player the feel of being the gigantic beast that Godzilla is. It is disappointing to see reviews that are not willing to meet the game on the terms it sets, and want the game to be something that doesn't serve the IP.

This game is garbage! I wasted sixty bucks on this abomination. This game makes Sonic 06 look like Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in comparison. Although, there's a few, very few positives. The game gets the many monsters that have appeared throughout Godzilla history spot on. From Mothra to Rodan and Mechagodzilla to King Ghidorah, fans will adore seeing each kaiju pop up for a brawl from time to time. The monster roster's a decent size it's one of the title's strongest positives. What's more, each beast has its own set of unique moves, and you can even upgrade their abilities via Evolve mode, which sees you unlock upgrades on a skill tree by using collectible items earned from bashing other enemies. There's really no story here in the main King of Destruction campgain because I only did it in forty minutes. Gameplay is dull. All you do is destroy generators or either battle other kaijus. That is it! Really! Gameplay is too repetitive and I can't stop saying "He's a kaiju, not a god!" Oh yeah, I forgot! You need to complete the campgain numerous times to unlock other kaiju, which is full of bull**** The King of Kaijus mode is the best thing about this game. Although, no local multiplayer, you can choose to play as other kaiju (whom you unlocked) and play against the CPU. I'd give it a 2/10 if there was any emotion on this game but NOOOO! We get a horrible PS4 port of a horrible PS3 game... No effort at all. Also, why was Yoko Ono, John Lennon's wife involved in development of this game. Very confusing and funny. Maybe that's why this game flopped like a plate of jelly!! As a Japan fan, I'm heavily disgusted by this game.

Godzilla is easily the perfect game for any Godzilla or giant kaiju fans. This game is made for the fans of the classic Toho Godzilla films. There's tons of fan service, all the kaiju look, sound, and act just like how they did in the movies. The gameplay is simple, but fun. The main game mode is God of Destruction Mode. Basically, you take control of Godzilla or any other kaiju and destroy as much of the city as you can. Your main goal is to destroy the G-Generators and defeat the enemy kaiju, if one appears on that particular level. It's tons of fun to blast the cities with your atomic breath and see everything explode around you. As you destroy the cities, the "disaster level" will rise, bringing in more tanks and jets and occasionally a Super X. As mentioned, you can destroy the city with other kaiju. However, if you play as a kaiju such as Mothra or Super Mechagodzilla, you will be tasked with defending the city and preventing destruction. As you play through the game, you can evolve your kaiju in evolution mode and gain new attacks for Godzilla. You can also upgrade the energy charge speed. Now onto the graphics, as mentioned, everything looks just like the original Godzilla films. The monsters are easily the best models in the game and look amazing. The buildings are not as good as the kaiju models, but they serve their purpose, for you to destroy them. There's been many complaints on how the graphics look bad but honestly, I'm not seeing it. The graphics look great. Sure, the millions of sparks that appear may not be realistic, but remember, this game's aim is to emulate the Godzilla films, specifically the Heisei series, so the sparks, while they may not look realistic, are there because they're there in the films. There's tons of fan service. You can blow up Gigan's head just like how his head exploded in Godzilla Final Wars. You can melt the Super X II's Fire Mirror by blasting it with atomic breath a few times, just like Godzilla vs Biollante. When you play as Godzilla 1964, the last stage pits you against 2 Mothra larva, like in Mothra vs Godzilla. You can even tear off Mechagodzilla 2's head and it'll reveal the mechanical brain underneath just like in Terror of Mechagodzilla. You see, things like this are what makes this game the best Godzilla game. I'd highly recommend you try out this game if you're a Godzilla fan, or even just a fan of kaiju in general. If you're not a kaiju fan, this game is probably not for you. Don't listen to all of the negative reviews, try the game out yourself and see if you like it. Their complaints aren't even valid. "Repetitive Gameplay" is a common complaint, yet that complaint comes from the same critics who love CoD, which is even more repetitive, all you do is run, shoot, get killed, respawn, repeat. The other major complaint are the graphics. Remember, we gamers are not playing games for their pretty graphics, we play them to have fun. This game is so outstandingly atrocious that appealing to the willful ignorance of the most adamant of Godzilla fans is like asking your best friend to forget about that one time you brutally murdered everyone they ever loved. Godzilla is more than just a failure in nearly every feasible facet of game design—it’s the denotation of apathy greedily overpriced and shaped into a giant middle finger traitorously served to those inclined to love it most. Forgiving this monstrosity would require both the willpower of Leonidas and obliviousness of Bill O’Reilly.

I think people were expecting this game to be like the "Destroy All Monsters" game for the GameCube. It isn't. I still think it's good, though I completely understand peoples criticisms. You're very slow, the gameplay is repetitive, and it's rather focused on destroying things and then kaiju. What I like about it are branching paths of difficulty, over 45 different kaiju to fight, and some really interesting mechanics of growing stronger. They should've called this "Godzilla Simulator 2015." People probably would've pissed less vinegar if they had known what was coming.

This game was "Poorly done. I have never bought a game, & disliked it right off the bat, but I bought this game for my boys.. None of them like this game. The Graphic's are terrible. This game reminds me of video games from the 1990's. To Control Godzilla, the movements are very "Slow" & frustrating. I wish now I had downloaded a demo of this game because if I had, I would have never spent $50 on it. I think the creators of this game should be embarrassed by their work.

No offline multiplayer. If you were hoping to sit on the sofa with your friends and family playing as you would every other godzilla game in the past couple decades you're going to be sorely disappointed. Namco, in their infinite 'wisdom', has decided to make multiplayer online only and on the PS4 only.

Anybody who gives this game more than a 5 is tangled in nostalgia. This is not a good game, it's not even an average game. It looks like crap and it's just boring to play. 3/10
