Oni (2001)8
Mar 17, 2020
When you ask someone about "Oni" you typically will hear "what?" is that a Japanese game, comic or some other form. However, it is a game with an enduring and captivating storyline from and unusual origin of the main character to the defeat of an unexpected villain. Truly a remarkable game by the same creators of Halo. Graphics are well established with few glitches in regards to camera angle. The one downfall is that you do see repeated textures and objects throughout the game. Fortunately as other reviews have stated in addition to my own. The levels are of a size that you disregard the graphical aspect of it and focus on where you can go. The gameplay is fun. After a very explanatory (and Narrated) tutorial you are sent through to play a "mission" As you "level" through the game you learn more special moves and techniques that can be used anytime depending the position or aspect of your character or the enemies. There are no requirements for of a specific "power usage bar". In addition, the use of weapons is made available. These weapons have a limited number of times they can be shot or activated, however you will find them throughout the game as enemies will drop them. This is a game of hand-to-hand fighting mixed with a 3rd person shooter. It requires more strategy than most, and makes it hard to just "run and shoot things". This is a well balanced game which I have played through many times over the last few years. On a side note and disappointing note, it does require extra effort to work well on Windows XP (not entirely sure about Vista).

Great combat mechanics seamlessly mixing close quarter combat and melee/ranged weapons. Unfortunately the plot is pretty dull, and the level design is boring - you run from one grey room to another. With more attention paid to these issues this could have been something truly special

Injustice: Gods Among Us - Ultimate Edition8
Aug 15, 2019
INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US, that mean one of us could be become Gods. Gameplay is battle duel beetween 2 players, COM (computer) or human player (P2) of Superheroes that we choose. It is contain story mode, battle, S.T.A.R Lab., and multiplayer. The graphic is great, I like the effect of SUPER MOVE action. To get achievements is easy, usually with patient to complete. The history and description every character, I mean the power and strength, included in the game. I take the screenshots of these. I can mention the characters could play, those are AQUAMAN, ARES, BANE, BATMAN, BLACK ADAM, CATWOMAN, CYBORG, DEATHSTROKE, DOOMSDAY, THE FLASH, GREEN ARROW, GREEN LANTERN, HARLEY QUINN, HAWKGIRL, THE JOKER, KILLER FROST, LEX LUTHOR, NIGHTWING, RAVEN, SHAZAM, SINESTRO, SOLOMON GRUNDY, SUPERMAN, WONDER WOMAN, BATGIRL, LOBO, ZATANNA, ZOD, MARTIAN MANHUNTER, and SCORPION. You can choose your favourite character, of course you can see them in their films. The difficulty is to play with move list and S.T.A.R Lab. mission. Online multiplayer seem trouble, with a few players I still can not play to get achievements. I recommend this game to play by you if you like fighting game.

Songbird Symphony8
Aug 15, 2019
This sense of fun cannot be understated. Songbird Symphony doesn’t feature typical enemies or damaging obstacles. It is purely an adventure title with a musical element that is done brilliantly. While you cannot really be hurt, there is an underlying challenge and replay value bred into the concept of getting a perfect hit rate on songs, or simply being able to pay more attention to the cacophony of colour on screen. This small game has a lot to give and when you give it chance, you will find nothing short of a unique and heart-warming adventure which you can’t help but smile at. This game is the very definition of Cheep and Cheerful.

The Church in the Darkness5
Aug 15, 2019
The Church in the Darkness is marred by several technical shortcomings that draw players out of the experience and kill the pacing. Once the narrative’s charm begins to wear off in later runs, The Church in Darkness’ flaws really take hold. Still, if you are obsessed with theology, political theory, or cults, you will find a lot to enjoy from the narrative of The Church in the Darkness. It’s definitely a game that will be on my mind for some time, for both good and bad reasons.

Heavy Fire: Red Shadow3
Aug 12, 2019
Mastiff’s attempt at designing an interesting and engaging rail shooter falls flat on PSVR. It could be different elsewhere, especially in VR, but as a regular ‘ol console shooter it is one of the most uninspired this generation. There is a little fun to be had, but only a little, and it fails to grab you every step of the way through the entirety of its missions.

Dying: Reborn3
Aug 11, 2019
Visually it looks like a poor imitation of itself, as lighting and image quality pale in comparison to the regular version, and the gameplay isn’t enhanced in the slightest. Throw in the fact that it just ends before any of the plot gets explained, and you have one of the biggest wastes of money on the system. The fact that this game made it to the PlayStation Store is truly an embarrassment for all parties involved.

Godzilla3
Aug 11, 2019
With ropy graphics, repetitive gameplay and wretched controls, Godzilla is so bad that it’s almost lovable. You get a lot of classic kaiju to play with, and smashing them through the sights of Tokyo can be strangely entertaining. Sadly, it’s not entertaining enough to warrant paying out for a full-price game.

Randall3
Aug 10, 2019
Randall seemingly disappointed me in different ways each time I booted up the game. I want to like metroidvania games, because the genre can be so malleable and interesting. And yet, here’s this game, which is a sloppy, dull mess. The plot is clumsily told, the gameplay varies between hair-ripping frustrating and sleep-inducing generic, and the technical hiccups are constantly flaring up. I hope We The Force continues to move forward in game development, because there’s a lot that can be learned from their debut effort. Unfortunately, that can’t fix the problems that plague their project now.

Agony3
Aug 10, 2019
Agony proves that, like beauty, horror can be only skin deep. With gratuitous amounts of violence and masochistic overtones, this blood-soaked adventure is not for the faint of heart. But while its bold and detailed environments depict Hell in the most nightmarish ways possible, even the fantastically obscene sights and creepy sounds become mundane and dull by the end of its series of repetitious mazes, unimaginative item hunts, and weak stealth gameplay.

Left Alive3
Aug 9, 2019
I enjoy high-tension military thrillers and stealth games, but Left Alive falls flat in every way that it attempts to stand out. Its story of surviving a technologically advanced invasion has some interesting ideas but is delivered with limp dialogue and voice acting from annoying characters. Worse, every concept introduced to its gameplay – stealth, action, crafting, and Wanzer combat – comes awash with bad ideas and uneven execution that make it feel difficult for all the wrong reasons, including bullet-sponge enemies and wildly inconsistent AI. The crafting is an interesting idea but is clunky to use in a pinch, even when it’s key to progression and survival. All these issues crushed the fun a little bit more every time they got me killed. Left Alive is probably best left unplayed.

That Trivia Game3
Aug 6, 2019
As a game targeted to be a family oriented or party game, the majority of the downfalls don’t really even matter. When you’re playing a game with your children or showing your friends how smart you are it really doesn’t matter how the game looks or how the game sounds, it’s all about if it works and if it is fun to play. That Trivia Game achieves what it is supposed to be; a fun, family oriented trivia game, though it isn’t without its flaws. If you’re able to look past the game’s shortcomings, That Trivia Game is a wonderful, family friendly game. There are major issues with That Trivia Game; including the game’s audio, visuals and even the single-player experience. Yet, even with all those problems, the main idea behind That Trivia Game, the trivia itself, is sound and well put together. Unfortunately, it’s those production issues that ultimately knock down the Score on an otherwise fine game.

Giana Sisters: Dream Runners3

Crystal Rift7
Aug 6, 2019
Crystal Rift is a game that pays homage to old-school dungeon crawlers, and it shows in its gameplay mechanics, dungeon layouts and puzzles. It’s a fun diversion on PS4 that has a few wrinkles here and there that keep it from being a more solid release. Trophy hunters will love the relatively straight forward trophy list with no missables, as well as its budget price. PS VR support is definitely a plus and something that does add extra value to this release.

Fluster Cluck3
Aug 6, 2019
As the Smash Bros. series has proven time and time again, unpredictably and chaos can yield addictive results, provided there's great game design behind them. Admittedly, repeat playthroughs and thoughtful study of each map in Fluster Cluck allowed me to wade through the disorder, making me a better player. Yet that road to enlightenment was paved with boredom and frustration, which left me emotionally spent by the time I cleared the final map.

Past Cure3
Aug 6, 2019
It’s always tempting to give independent development studios a bit of slack: No one wants to put off the little guys after all, but when this mess is placed against work by the likes of Reakktor, Studio, Wildcard and Harebrained Schemes, I can’t help but think maybe £24.99 would be better spent elsewhere.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn3
Aug 6, 2019
Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is not only a bad game, but a clear reminder that not every game needs a sequel. We didn’t need a new Bubsy and we certainly don’t need a new Shaq Fu. The combat is constantly draining, the humour is poorly delivered and occasionally insulting to your intelligence, and the six stages do nothing to incite any kind of replay ability whatsoever.

Coffin Dodgers5
Aug 6, 2019
Coffin Dodgers is a decent Kart Racer that leans on its premise to make itself stand out. It’s hard to imagine this game having a long term following, but it’s good for a quick laugh or two with friends. The game doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is a nice change of pace from a lot of games that demand an emotional investment. There are some funky issues with collision detection and a couple of easy spots to get yourself stuck on, but for $12 ($11 on PC), it’s a nice option for PS4 and Xbox One owners looking for some casual Kart racing fun.

Alekhine's Gun3
Aug 6, 2019
There’s a stealth game here, but it’s not a great one. It’s a genre that’s admittedly lacking in titles, so if you’ve played Hitman, and need something to occupy you until Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is released, then you might be able to stomach Alekhine’s Gun. For everyone else though, it’s one to avoid.

Eternity: The Last Unicorn3
Aug 5, 2019
Eternity: The Last Unicorn bills itself as a game marrying the best of modern and classic gameplay styles into a cohesive whole. But there’s criminally little to celebrate here. One part of it is that rigid camera angles require far more careful design considerations that what is seen here, particularly in boss arenas. There’s just an overall lack of polish to the combat system, storytelling, and flow of gameplay that belies any goodwill I might have carried into this experience. When the hardest thing about a game is finding the strength to slog through its mundane gameplay and infuriatingly slipshod combat system, it’s time to look for a challenge — or simple fun, even — elsewhere.

One Piece: Grand Cruise3
Aug 5, 2019
One Piece: Grand Cruise is a beautiful game that does its best to immerse players into the anime’s world, that has to be said. That’s also the only positive thing about this trainwreck ****. It’s almost devoid of actual gameplay, it’s stupidly short, it’s boring, and it’s too expensive for what it offers. Don’t be fooled by the adorable presentation: One Piece: Grand Cruise is one of the worst games you’ll find on the PSVR.
PlayStation 4

Overlord: Fellowship of Evil3
Aug 5, 2019
It’s bad enough that Overlord: Fellowship of Evil waters down the more substantial gameplay of its predecessors in favor **** action-RPG model, but that’s actually the least of the game’s problems. Technical problems make the framerate and collision detection bigger obstacles than the traps and enemies, and the level design reduces everything to the lowest common denominator.

Beast Quest3
Aug 4, 2019
It is a limited action-adventure that really missed the beat, and even the most die-hard of Beast Quest readers will be quite disappointed. While the game does try to use a rather interesting combat system, it doesn't really make up for all the other areas where the game is lacking. The story isn't great and the side quests are uninviting, and so if you want a game that focuses on a decent quest to kill beasts, then maybe you should look at something like Monster Hunter World. The game might be quite kid-friendly, but we could imagine even an eight-year-old getting frustrated with things like the jump delay.

Weeping Doll0
Aug 4, 2019
Weeping Doll's one of those games where you can see the intentions of the developer, but the end product just isn't very good. The muddled mismatch of time periods could be forgiven if the writing wasn't so woeful and the voice acting so unintentionally amusing. There's the nugget **** idea here, but like an action figure with its appendages in the wrong places, it's been sloppily assembled.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 53
Aug 4, 2019
When all is said and done, this game doesn’t deserve to be called Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 and most certainly shouldn’t make its way onto your download queue. I feel like Activision withheld it from early reviews because the company knew it's a butt ****. I know it’s tempting to give this one a go, especially after the years of awesomeness the Pro Skater franchise has provided in the past, but it doesn’t match up to today’s standards. Avoid this one like the Black Plague.

Aug 3, 2019
Where The Bees Make Honey is a frustrating and boredom-inducing puzzle game that suffers from an unthinkable amount of technical issues, poor controls, unclear objectives, and bad level design. The Quiet Man2
Aug 1, 2019
Fujinaga says The Quiet Man was made with an "indie" spirit, by which I take him to mean its short running time, lower price point, experimental approach and narrative leaning. But you could not find a better example of corporate vanity art blundering, with almost comical hubris and insensitivity, into areas it is woefully unequipped to handle.

Jul 31, 2019
The Deer God may be a beautiful game, but behind its majestic facade lies a dull platformer that fails to challenge. The Unknown City: Horror Begins Now.....Episode 10
Jul 31, 2019
Horrible game. Game keeps crashing if you try to load the third level. Needed a lot of restarts so I could play it. But then it`s way too big. The game is also glitchy as hell, graphics are bad, voice "acting" is ridiculous. After some enemies at the first level you get all weapons at once with an abundance of ammo. Some weapons have such a recoil that it is almost impossible to hit something with some. I got this for one buck, though I really don't know why I haven't invested in bubblegum instead. DO NOT PLAY THIS.

ZEN Pinball 2: Ant-Man Pinball6
Jul 31, 2019
The new Ant-Man table for Zen Pinball shows that the development team at Zen Studios can deliver great work when it is dealing with the intellectual property of other companies and Marvel seems to have made a particularly good partner. The developers have managed to integrate story elements that will certainly get gamers interested in the coming movie and the comic book universe associated with them. At the same time, they are making sure that Ant-Man Pinball rewards careful observation and planning, but unleashes spectacular moments even for those who are only looking for a few minutes of fun. Ant-Man might not be one of the main Marvel superheroes, but if his current incarnation becomes a success, at least some of merit will belong to Zen Studios and its most recent pinball release.

I love cartoon network as I have been watching the television channel for quite a long time since when I was a child, so most of its licensed games are fun for its nostalgic flavor and time honored traditions. ANUBIS II is a great game as it has UFO flying around in it and we need to use our magical brooms to catch them and send them back to their planets of hell.
