Didnt' think this franchise could have done better than the original but GoW2 absolutely pulled it off! Love to see it going farther, harder, faster and better than before!

Nothing to complain about with the sequel. The combined great gameplay, story and just hooks you and makes you want to beat the whole story in one sitting because it’s that good. Still the best of the franchise and with 3 being just as good. Gears is still one of the best gaming trilogies.

Me gustó un poco mas el primer Gears pero eso no quita que este sea un juegazo. Ojalá también un remake y porque no que este disponible para todas las plataformas.

Gears of War 2 mejora el sistema interactivo de la primera entrega y demuestra, especialmente a través de su modo Horda, las posibilidades de un juego profundamente sistémico. En su momento fue un salto técnico y estético incuestionable: el motor gráfico, la puesta en escena y la dirección artística elevaron el estándar del shooter en consola y construyeron un imaginario visual potente, reconocible y excesivo, perfectamente alineado con la identidad de la saga. Sin embargo, el título intenta sostener una épica narrativa que mezcla lo peor de cada casa: solemnidad impostada, dramatismo militar de manual y una guerra que quiere ser trágica sin asumir del todo sus implicaciones. La historia avanza a base de set pieces espectaculares, pero rara vez emociona o profundiza; es más ruido que discurso. Su sistema narrativo —tanto como campaña como en la forma en que se juega esa campaña— se queda en tierra de nadie: no alcanza el frenesí de los shooters más agresivos ni la crudeza estratégica de títulos bélicos más serios. Quiere ser divertido, quiere ser épico, quiere ser dramático… y en ese intento de abarcarlo todo, pierde algo de filo. No es un despropósito. El modo Horda justifica por sí solo horas de juego y evidencia una época en la que muchos títulos de Xbox 360 llevaron el hardware al límite apostando por la diversión cooperativa local: tiroteo profundo, resistencia y supervivencia compartida. Hoy se percibe como un producto claramente anclado en su tiempo, pero con la oportunidad de jugar Horda acompañado, sigue siendo una recomendación clara.

probably the best game so far or might be the best game in the whole series. Combat is great, story is captivating, and the world is just expanded even more in regard to lore.

Gears of War 2 is my all time favourite video game. I LOVE everything about this game. It will stand the test of time to me. I’ve beat it at least 200 times (and I’ll continue to beat until the day I die) it’s a cinematic masterpiece ****!!!

Gears of War 2 sigue siendo una experiencia bien macho, de esas que transpiran testosterona y pólvora. Con sus tonos grisáceos y oscuros, mantiene ese ambiente opresivo tan característico, pero esta vez se siente un poco más crudo, con pérdidas que duelen y un lore que se empieza a expandir fuerte. Marcus sigue siendo el tipo duro de siempre, aunque lo vemos un poquito más **** jugabilidad, si bien hoy se siente algo dura, todavía se disfruta muchísimo. El sistema de coberturas sigue funcionando y las decisiones de camino le dan un toque de variedad. El nivel del laboratorio bajo tormenta de granizo es una joya: creepy, cerrado, con torretas automáticas y una acción final que te deja manija. De lo mejor del juego.Y aunque el final con los brumaks y los ravens es tremendo, me quedé esperando más de los lambents, que quedaron medio tibios. Aun así, es un Gears sólido, con identidad y momentos que se te quedan en la cabeza.

If you're a graphics ****, you absolutely, positively need to pick this game up.

Bigger and better than the original. This action epic ranks up there with "Modern Warfare 2" , "Halo 2" and "Uncharted 2". It's the best installment in the series. Along with the great campaign and competitive multiplayer, the game also included "Horde" for the first time. "Gears of War 2" is an exhilarating masterpiece that still holds up today. I would rate it with a 9.5 out of 10.

It may have looked good by 2008 standards but in 2025 it is difficult to enjoy Gears 2 with its extremely ugly visuals and outdated gameplay. The remaster of the first one greatly improved the visuals and made it fun to play, but with this dark gray and blurry mess you can't even tell what is happening on the screen half of the time. It has a lot of frustrating and questionable mechanics throughout the campaign that make it unenjoyable. Hopefully it will get the treatment that gears 1 got someday and I can revise this review, but as it stands this game is a big disappointment and definitely the worst in the series.

Gears of War 2 is a fantastic sequel that improves on the original in nearly every way, delivering a bigger, more cinematic, and more emotional experience. The campaign raises the stakes with a darker story, deeper character development—especially for Dom—and even more over-the-top action set **** cover-based shooting feels tighter and more refined, with new weapons, enemies, and environments that add variety to every encounter. Horde mode, introduced in this game, became a genre-defining multiplayer feature and a fan favorite for good reason—it’s intense, fun, and endlessly replayable.While the story can be a bit cheesy at times and the pacing dips in a few spots, the game’s polish, scale, and emotional weight make up for it.Gears of War 2 is everything a sequel should be—bigger, better, and more ambitious.9/10

Completed in 2025. What a great continuation of the first part. Great scenarios. The vehicle driving part has aged somewhat poorly. But the game holds up perfectly today. 60 fps 4K on series x. What a marvel

A história em Gears of War 2 é mais emocional e envolvente, explorando não apenas a guerra contra os Locusts, mas também os dramas pessoais dos personagens, especialmente Dom Santiago em sua busca por sua esposa. O jogo apresenta gráficos impressionantes para a época, com cenários detalhados e efeitos visuais que realmente elevam a imersão. A great sequel just as good as the original Gears of War game in almost every way

Gears of War 2 is an utterly stunning game. It improves the originals gameplay and improves the story from the original.

oh my god. This is, for me, the best game in history. I have so much memories with it, playing it at my grandmas house, now playing it at my house, the story is PERFECT, just what i love. The gameplay is great too. Didnt really multiplayerbut it wasnt an issue.

To me this is the best gears game but ironically is my first gears game before i play gears one.

Not a step up or down from the 1st game , a great continuation . Added more weapons , vehicles , executions and enemies . The story develops well and so do the characters . The violence and graphic scenes are all still there and even more glorified but not overly done to the extreme , just enough for Gears . The thing that makes this stand out is the start to finish War story that takes you up and down more than once with a large enemy force always on the horizon and feeling like you are playing a vital role in the war

Great development of the series. Still the same variety in the gameplay, decent story with dramatic moments, great unique design work. This part lacks in sounds and music aspects compared to the original, but it is ok.

El mejor Gears sin duda. Un auténtico juegazo el gears of war 2, lo volví a jugar hace poco en una Xbox ss y la experiencia fue muy buena, gráficamente se sigue defendiendo de una manera muy buena, a nivel de rendimiento fue todo perfecto y yendo muy muy fluido. Un juego extremadamente divertido con ese sistema de coberturas que es maravilloso y lo bien que se siente disparar (especialmente la lancer y el rifle de francotirador). Por no hablar de la historia que es muy interesante ver como nos adentramos a la hondonada y vemos como viven los locust y como van capturando a los humanos (el trágico momento de tai…) con unos personajes muy carismáticos formando el maravilloso escuadrón delta donde cada personaje aporta su grano de arena para hacerlo memorable y culminando con el gran protagonista Marcus Fénix, Marcus es un personaje que dentro de su aspecto serio tiene muchísimo carisma y en este juego vemos su parte más humana muchas veces. Aparte la historia te lleva a situaciones muy diversas (que decir del momento del gusano gigante) pero también nos montamos y pilotamos un reaver, una especie de tanque por encima de lagos helados, un brumak en la parte final del juego. Simplemente un juegazo de culto de la era de Xbox 360 que coge lo que hacía gears of war 1 y lo mejora x10. Si hay alguien que aún no lo ha jugado que no espere más tiempo y se lance a él porque es una maravilla.

-Horas Jogadas: + 40h- Plataforma: Xbox Series S- Rejogado em 2023; (1)- Gráficos: Considerando um jogo de 2006 e no Xbox SS, o jogo parece remasterizado, com gráficos mais vivos, os gráficos estão muitos bonitos, acima da média. (2)- Jogabilidade: É boa a jogabilidade e bem fluída, porém me incomoda um pouco quando vc precisa correr com os personagens e quando os personagens vão se comunicar pelo rádio é um pouco incômodo, não é uma das minhas jogabilidades preferidas. (3)- Inteligência Artificial: Inimigos com uma boa inteligência, já os companheiros NPCs, estão com a IA não muito boa.(4)- Historia: uma excelente história, bem imersiva com momentos bem marcantes, uma ótima continuação do primeiro jogo.(5)- Online/Cooperativo: Não joguei os modos, porém o cooporativo na campanha é excelente.(6)- Bugs 3 jogabilidade;(7)- Árvores de Habilidades/Armas/Equipamentos/Inimigos: Uma boa variedade de Inimigos, também uma excelente variedade de armas e diferentes tipo de execuções dependendo da arma utilizadas, não possui Árvore de Habilidade.(8)- Fator Diversão: Excelente diversão, podendo ser melhor ainda se jogado em cooporativo, variando a gameplay em momentos de condução terrestre e condução aérea.Notas:1- Gráficos: 9/10, 2- Jogabilidade: 7/10, 3- Inteligência Artificial: 7/10, 4- História: 10/10, 5- Cooporativo/Online: 10/10, 6- Bugs: 7/10, 7- Árvore de Habilidade/Armas/Inimigos: 8/10, 8- Fator Diversão: 10/10- NOTA MÉDIA: 8.5

Great game to play on split screen. And just a good game even after all these years. That was at first part, but in second part all simply better.

Una gran evolución sobre su predecesor. Gears 2 es la cúspide de la saga, brindándonos un gameplay más pulido, misiones memorables, el equipo delta en su máximo esplendor, y sobre todo una historia de altísima calidad. Gears 2 nos presenta algunos de los momentos más duros y crudos de la historia de los videojuegos y con un diseño de niveles de lo mejor. Sin duda alguna uno de los mejores de Xbox

This is by far the best game in the series. Multiplayer was amazing back in 2008 and the campaign was mind blowing at the time. Replayed this game recently and was shocked how well the graphics held up after all these years. Would highly recommend giving this game especially if you're looking for a fun couch co-op game (hard to come by these days).

My favourite instalment in the series and one of my favourite games of all time, it’s definitely the best couch Co-Op of all time, loved playing this with my brother on the 360 and again on the Xbox One.

Gears of War 2 é um jogo fabuloso, de história e gameplay impecáveis, sinto vontade de joga-lo a todo tempo desde a primeira vez que joguei, de longe o melhor gears of war que joguei!

7.1/10 Story: 7.5 Gameplay: 6.5 Game mechanics: 7.5 By the second game, the story was starting to come together, and finally, the scenery changed. Gameplay would've been better if there wasn't any input lag; funny how Xbox claims FPS boot is enabled for the game, but there is input lag. For some of the missions, the mechanics were interesting, especially during one where there is a hail storm, and the player has to maneuver around it. The submarine mission was great too.

Gears of war 2 for it's time amazing very enjoyable to play. I love the Story and the gameplay. Highly recommend! You can get this game on the cheap now, it's a absolute steal for the price. I decided to go back and enjoy it again on my Series X which led me to finally giving it a review.

Incredible sequel to a great game, a lot of the scuff at the edges of the first game are smoothed out and refined here. The characters are more vibrant and there's more variety in gameplay. the plot is more off the rails though, in good and bad ways.

A game where you shoot monsters with your cool big ass gun, thats not everything that this game has to offer, i am only saying that because when i hear that i immediately get turned off, but this one actually does it well and is really good not gonna lie.
