Friday Night Funkin' is a rythm game inspired by other games such as Guitar Hero and Beat Battle, following the concept of a set amount of notes, 4 in this case, scrolling to a strumline in which you have to press at the right time according to the rythm. It executes the idea really well, mainly in levels with higher scroll speed. The art style is rather unusual, but not necesairly bad, and actually fits the game well. The music doesn't use actual lyrics, instead it's used "chromatics", tuned phonetics without an actual meaning, but that surprisingly works, although this style is unusual so it goes from each one's liking, personally I think it's good. The game is fairly balanced, having 5 difficulties, with the Erect versions using a remix of the song. You can play with two characters, Boyfriend and Pico. The game has a good replay factor, mainly after the developers added the modern freeplay menu + the ending screen animations and ranks, as hunting P-ranks is really fun. The engine is good as well, tracking your hits with no noticeable delay, making the game playable at even "lower" hertz such as 60hz. Not only that, the game is really well optimized, being able to run even at really low-end devices. And if it's still laggy, you always have the option to disable some extra stuff in the menu. Overall, would give it a try 100%, really addicting, been playing it for around 4 years now.
