A awesome game with extremely good graphics for its time. It has aged pretty well and still looks extremely good. The story is awesome, with how you literally feel just how Jason gets more and more insane.

Vaas is an absolute icon and the whole tropical island vibe is great because you actually feel like a survivor growing into a warrior. The gameplay loop is super satisfying but some story elements and repetitive missions keep it from being perfect

Entretenido en todo momento, es un mundo abierto que combina muy bien sus mecánicas con el entorno. Me divertí mucho por las 25 horas que me duró.

Gameplay: 9/10 — Excellent open-world combat, stealth, exploration, hunting, crafting, and outpost liberation. The shooting still holds up very well. Scenes/Story presentation: 8.5/10 — Strong atmosphere and memorable characters, particularly Vaas. Some story sections are excellent, while others feel slower or less coherent. Ending: 7.5/10 — Memorable and thematically interesting, but divisive. The final choices don't have quite the payoff some players expect after such a strong campaign. Overall: ~8.5/10. The biggest strength is definitely the gameplay + atmosphere. Vaas and the early/middle parts of the story are arguably stronger than the actual conclusion.

Never really cared for this entry. This game was when Ubisoft thought I wanted every single story NPC's face pressed right up against the camera for every cutscene. The cutscenes are all massively overacted and kind of cringey, to boot. The gunplay is good, but I still had a lot of bugs. I wanted to get an upgrade and must have gone 6 times to hunt a dingo and never came across even one. I decided that even following out of game instructions to encourage them to spawn where they were supposed to for an hour was enough to determine that I just don't want to play what Far Cry turned into after Far Cry 2.

The only Far Cry that i have ever played. (I know, big misstake) but since i was a little kid my brother always used to say that the 3rd part is the best from the franchise. And he was gooddamn right.. I am still going to play the other ones tho. Soon i hope...

Fantastic game. Too bad it wasn't finished, it's obvious the developers had more plans, the second half of the game was cut. Legend

One of the best games I’ve ever played. The graphics are amazing even by today’s standards, the characters are incredible, and it’s better than most games released today.

Far Cry 3. It's all madness. A gripping open-world game that immerses you in a vibrant and dangerous tropical island. Here, you'll find action-packed missions, extreme adventures, and the chance to explore beautiful yet wild nature. The graphics are stunning, and the atmosphere is tense and realistic. The game perfectly combines stealth, shooter, and role-playing character development.

far cry 3 was my first open world game and it honestly didnt feel like anything else i had played before we were dropped in the middle of this massive island and we had those cool tattoos on our arm i think this game is basically the pioneer of that whole climb a tower to reveal the map then go clear out the enemy camp and take over the area formula everyone should definitely give it a try though right now the market is flooded with games exactly like this so it might not feel as impressive today but for its time it was seriously a legend

Fantastic story and fun gameplay start to finish, but loses points due to the constant and frustrating game errors, mainly save errors. I noticed several times my manual saves just vanished, even downloading patches didn't fix it in any way. Great game, but the mechanical errors and near constant visual glitches bump this otherwise great game down a few notches.

Far Cry 3 is the game that fundamentally changed the direction of the Far Cry series and brought about its greatest positive revolution. Far Cry 3 is a game that achieved far greater feats than the series’ previous two entries, propelling the series to incredible new heights and successfully making its name known worldwide. First and foremost, what makes the game great is certainly not just the graphics, but the fact that so many elements are perfectly balanced to create a magnificent blend. From its story to its characters, from Rook Island to its exploration, and from its music to its atmosphere, I can say it’s a game that’s been meticulously crafted. 2012 was a rich year for games, and Far Cry 3, which carved its name at the top among successful titles, had already excited players even before its release with its marketing strategies, character teasers, the game’s variety, and the sheer size of Rook Island, spreading anticipation across many audiences. When Far Cry 3 launched in 2012, it achieved such massive success that the developers truly reaped the rewards of their hard work. The game wasn’t just diverse and fluid; the innovations it introduced also left a lasting impression on the gaming world—for example, the Radio Towers! These are legendary elements of the Far Cry series. Far Cry 3 features a more emotional story focused on character development compared to previous games, allowing us to connect with the main character, Jason Brody. A total of seven adventurous friends (Jason, his brother Grant, his sister Riley, Oliver, Keith, Daisy, and his girlfriend Liza), who were encouraged to go to Rook Island, After engaging in countless sports and adventures, the adventure begins when they are kidnapped by pirates upon landing on the island. In short, while Jason tries to rescue all his friends, he also begins to bond with the oppressed Rakyat tribe due to pirate pressure. Through the encouragement of Dennis and Citra, he adapts well to the island and the tribe, realizing for the first time that he truly belongs here, and this leads to conflicts with his friendships . We could say the story has a vibe that isn’t particularly compelling but still holds its own, and some of the characters in the story are wonderfully designed. BUT the biggest issue lies in the choice of the antagonist. Vaas Montenegro, the character who rules North Island and leads the pirates, is so well-designed that he has become one of the most beloved and iconic villains in the gaming world. Portrayed by Michael Mando, this character’s philosophy, his cool-headedness, and his constant air of invincibility have made him a legendary, iconic character. So, if we’re going to evaluate the game, we can’t talk about it without mentioning Vaas, because he’s one of the most important things that truly makes Far Cry 3 what it is. Even though the main antagonist in the game is someone else, no one can ever take Vaas’s place. Additionally, the game’s musical score is fantastic, especially the inclusion of real-life songs like “Paper Planes” and “Make It Bun Dem,” which elevate the game to its peak at just the right moments. When it comes to atmosphere and variety, the abundance of side quests keeps the game fresh, and unique content like “Path of the Hunter” is truly a delight. Rook Island is massive—you can really lose yourself in its incredible atmosphere as you explore the island. Even though years have passed since the game’s release, this magical atmosphere hasn’t changed a bit. And unfortunately, Ubisoft’s usual issue is that side quests start to feel repetitive after a while, making you feel like you’re doing the same thing over and over again—but in Far Cry 3, a lot of effort was put into preventing that, which is truly commendable. As an aside, while I didn’t deduct points for this in my review, there are serious issues on modern PCs: the game crashes constantly, and there are severe RAM and CPU limitations. The game’s engine simply doesn’t recognize modern PCs, which makes the situation absolutely terrible—I’d say I went through a lot of trouble just to play it. But if you don’t give up and get lucky, you can play it. It’s really a terrible situation. There isn’t a single game in the Far Cry series that runs smoothly and without issues on older systems. Still, despite everything, Far Cry 3 is a masterpiece and a game every gamer should at least try. So I highly recommend you play it. By the way, have I shown you “Definition of Insanity” yet? If not, Vaas will do a great job of it :).

I constantly experienced save issues and the game kept crashing. I had enjoyed playing for about 10 hours, but I couldn't tolerate these errors anymore. I hope **** goes bankrupt and shuts down.

First time I've ever played a Far Cry game. I haven't enjoyed or been this hooked to a game ever. Mechanics are great. It's a bit annoying that you use all your stealth xp **** sees you right at the end of taking an outpost, and the story has a couple weird things, but the ending is cinema. I loved it, would highly recommend

My first Far Cry game, and it completely hooked me. The story was surprisingly engaging, and the gameplay felt fresh since I hadn’t played anything like it before. I loved the freedom in how you approach everything stealth or chaos, both work and both are ****’s one of those games that makes you want to replay it just to experience it again.

**Review of Far Cry 3 (9.5/10)** Far Cry 3 is a standout open-world shooter that blends freedom, chaos, and storytelling perfectly. The tropical island is vibrant and dangerous, filled with activities and surprises. Combat is fluid, with satisfying gunplay and stealth options. Vaas Montenegro steals the show with a chilling, unforgettable performance. While some side content can feel repetitive, the overall experience is thrilling, immersive, and highly addictive.

The story is my favorite in the series by far. Vaas came to define the series, and it set the blueprint for the newer games. Looking back, it was innovative for 2012 and represented a better time for Ubisoft.

Without a doubt the best Far Cry game so far and in my opinion up there among the best games ever. Compared to later installments, enemy bases, weapons and quests are designed in a more fun way.

The immersive open world of Far Cry 3 is excellent; it offers rich settings and a variety of exploration choices that enable different playstyles, such as combat and stealth. The experience is improved by the progression system, which offers weapon customization and skill unlocks. Vaas Montenegro is a particularly noteworthy antagonist who adds to dramatic narrative moments. Nevertheless, the story's tempo can be erratic, and some of the side missions seem monotonous and uninteresting. Reviews of Jason Brody's character development have been mixed, and the flow of the gameplay is occasionally hampered by AI problems and vehicle control. Although it doesn't reach its full potential, the basic delight is still tremendous in spite of these shortcomings.

Far cry 3 is a very good open world game with a great story. Although graphics are a bit outdated now it still feels great to play. In my playthrough i had some issues with crashes, ultimately leaving me to play the game on a different computer completely. This would be a real pain if i only had one computer. Be aware of this issue before purchasing since it for me started happening hours into the game whereas a refund would be unavailable. If your lucky enough to have a flawless playthrough you definitely wont regret it.

This game is one of the revolutionary games in world history; I played it as a kid. It used to crash every half hour, and it still does. It's a game that deserves a 9, but I'm giving it a 5 just because of this.

I decided to replay Far Cry 3 after six years when i finished it for the first time. In my mind this game was an undoubtedly 10, but unfortunately the game hasn't aged well. Some things leave much to be desired. The open world is kind of empty, and after some hours when you have upgraded all your tools, you end up using the tp because it makes no sense to waste time walking around and seeing animals and trees. The radio towers activations and outposts end up being so repetitive. And the side quests.. well i think they are acceptable, nothing special. And the performance sometimes is poor with FPS drops on PC. On the other hand, the characters are really good, i mean Vaas is one of the greatest villains ever. Jason has a good character development, Sam is great too. The main missions are extraordinary from my point of view, they are very frenetic. The moment when you have to burn the marijuana fields with the flamethrower with dubstep is just history of the videogames, very iconic. To sum up, even though I remembered it being much better than it actually is, I had quite a bit of fun with everything else. I recommend it.

Pro: dynamic as a shooter, good enemy AI, nice graphics, interesting plot in the first third, different mechanics in mission, good and diverse stealth, delicious ending twist Contra: need some hops to run in 2025, plot is losing fast (becoming more of an action B movie), the narrative is trying to be serious, but very often is just unrealistic, and falls a bit stupid

Far Cry 3 is an unforgettable adventure. The tropical world is gorgeous and dangerous, combat is varied and exciting, and the story pulls you in while letting you explore freely. From sneaky stealth moves to chaotic firefights, it’s a perfect mix of freedom and thrill.

Far Cry3 is a classic game that brings together the perfect amount of repetition, gunplay, and story. The story is fun, although can fall flat periodically, you really have to get yourself in the head of the main character Jason Brody. The thing that really sells me about this game however is the ending section, just when the repetition of clearing out outposts and doing path of the hunter quests and wanted dead quests the game gives you access to a new area with enemies that are more coordinated and ready and willing to take the fight to you. It was really refreshing and helped me to have fun throughout the entirety of my playthrough. TLDR: Game is fun and rewarding, story is middling but comes to a satisfying end. Would recommend.
