Cool game, nice dialogues and characters, boring perks, redundant missions.

This shoudln't even exist. Or at least gifted to the owners of the original game. But I do not recommend buying this game, even on sale. It's basically just the original game (not even more beautiful tbh) but with performance issues.

This game was probably wonderful back then, I understand people saying that it's a revolution for the open world. However, I just think that the game didn't age well. I mean it's alright but far from what people told me. The world is huge but empty, and most of the characters are forgettable.

First of all, there is the elephant in the room : the poor graphics and mid performances, outdated by many years. Now, for the game itself, the gameplay is fun, the characters are great, the city is fine (even though I think that a diameter of 1 km is not that much. However, there is this unpleasant feeling of being challenged for any reason : you want this information ? fight me. You want to go through ? fight me. You ALWAYS fight. All of this left a feeling of artificially extending the lifespan of the game. Almost as if the devs didnt want to waste the animations of the characters after one fight. Besides, the main quest is far too redundant. Mega Raid Battle -> Battle zone -> Rankup match. Again and again.

The story, characters, dialogues and cutscenes are masterpieces 10/10, but the gameplay is just so slow and boring, the fighting, alchemy, and every little action. Only the horse riding is okay gameplay wise.

Frankly, the developers tried hard. The details of the plot are thought out to the end, I especially think of the amount of text (although sometimes messy) and dialogue in the game. The combat system is simple and effective, even if the enemies have an annoying tendency to push yourself against the wall. Visually, stunning. Story-wise, interesting. A final criticism that I could make is the repetitiveness of the missions and the fights.

The best game in history for me, quite simply, yet my favorite license is Pokémon. Very complete game, lots of things to discover, the story mode is exciting and has an excellent lifespan. It has aged extremely well, there are a few bugs, but the countless qualities of this game make us easily forget them.
