Impressive scale, but little variety in the surroundings.
When making a virtual trip through the Apennines, on the one hand, you admire the constant attention to detail with which the authors worked on every hundred kilometers stretching from north to south, and on the other hand, you get the impression that they did not have enough resources for such a large territory.
Two effects led me to think like this. The first is the uneven development of different cities: it seems that the port cities and those inland were made by completely different teams. Ancona, Bari, Livorno, the Sicilian harbors are made with photographic accuracy and filled with historical landmarks. And places like Bologna and Florence are just a few offices and factories. Perhaps the main disappointment is Rome: I understand that in a city with such an ancient heritage, the movement of trucks is limited, but it could have been made memorable, but for now - warehouses and that's all. The second effect is that many objects, especially churches, are too often reused in different parts of the map.
Despite these shortcomings, the game Italy as a whole turned out to be fascinating and colorful. I was pleased with the presence of signs with the names of regions on their administrative borders and the atmosphere of Corsica, which was added later, especially Sassari. Although the DLC requires updating the textures (after all, it is 2017), but, in my opinion, it is still worth buying right now - positive impressions are guaranteed.
