Depth
Depth delivers thrills, making you feel like a dangerous hunter or a target. It's a nice change of pace from more traditional multiplayer games. It's only a shame that there's not more content.
Depth is certainly a game with an interesting idea but developed in a rather rough manner, leaving more than a doubt not only on the production value but also on the idea of the asymmetric gameplay, which is apparently riding the wave of enthusiasm born with Evolve.
Depth is a Left 4 Dead clone sunk by its sea of flaws.

Fun little diversion but nothing too special. Depth was a innovative idea with a good atmosphere and graphics, but lacking content. It was tense, scary and (like many other games) fun to play with friends, but after a few hours, you experienced everything the game could offer and it gets repetitive quickly. In Depth, you either play as a diver, who needs to escort a submersible to its destination, or a hungry shark from different species, who needs to eat the divers and stop them from reaching their goal. Divers win when they reach the destination, sharks win if the timer runs out and the goal has not been reached by the divers, or, when the divers run out of respawns. You choose a few maps to play on and that’s it. In the basis, there is nothing else to do in the game. Depth introduced some kind of levelling system in which the sharks can “evolve” when scoring enough experience and kills. This however, was mediocre and was not implemented well, nor did the popularity of this game live long enough to see it utilized. The graphics in the game are dark and a little rough. It is fine enough for the setting of this game and I did like the lighting (or better said, lack of), making the environment really unsettling. The animations of attacking sharks and other divers however, are mediocre at best. The sound is a little blend. This is mainly because the game plays underwater, but even then, I would have liked some ambient swimming sounds of other animals except the sharks for example, keeping you paranoid at all times. Although simple and not that special, Depth had its moments. The grim and unsettling ocean on the maps had its charms. When an enemy shark attacks you, they come out of nowhere sometimes, giving you the scare of your life. For me personally, seeing the open mouth of a shark, with rows and rows of teeth, right before your end, is one of my personal nightmares. So for me at least, the horror and scare factor of this game was some intense ****. But even I got used to it after a few matches and, like many others complained about, it gets really boring and repetitive, really fast. In the end, I did not think Depth was too bad, it is just a shame that this concept did not utilize more of its capabilities. It is standard, empty and lacks content. Fun for a LAN Party or a night with some buddies, but other than that, I almost forgot that this game even exists. Would recommend it for “a game night of fun” though, although I doubt, it will be played.

Got this game few years ago on sale, I like it actually cuz it's really fun to play and different from other games, but game now is dead, that's the problem. I mean, devs kinda updating game with new cosmetics and stuff, but still around 100 daily players... Every time I suggested to convert game to F2P model, there is no answer from devs and everyone from 100 ppl is against it, cuz nEw pLaYeRs WiLl rUiN tHe gAmE. So if you are reading this and thinking to buy this game and play in 2021, prepare for long queue time.

Depth is the best example of asymmetrical PvP gameplay that I have ever seen. The difficulty curve for this game can be steep, but it is so rewarding to see how well you can perform as you develop your skills. With fun and engaging shark gameplay as well as more traditional diver gameplay, this game has just enough nuance to make every match feel different but not to be unnecessarily complicated. Nothing is pay to win. The developers also put plenty effort in this game going into 2021 (as I write this) with constant events and updates to keep things fresh. This is one of my favorite games of all time, though I recommend playing with friends. If you have at least one buddy to partner up with, whether you are shark or diver, it makes the gameplay so much more in depth (pun intended). The developers care about this game, but more importantly they got me to care about this game. 10/10

Playing as a diver or a shark is a fast, fun, and frantic experience, and each has its own feel and set of skills.

It's great fun, but after 15 it looses it appeal. But that may change with mods.

Depth is the closest I've come to experiencing the kind of fear a game about killer sharks should generate since my younger days of playing Jaws on the NES. Future updates that clean up bugs and add new content could help it breach the surface and approach greatness. Until then, however, Depth floats listlessly in the ocean current.

Game is quiete fun, but the duration of a round could be improved. A standart round ends to quick. Maybe in more profesional play the sharks survive longer and the divers need to work together like a team with a role for everyone (damage dealer, disabler something). t's very good that the shark is not alone and btw a very cool character to play, and i hope they improve the game up to more sharks / divers per scenario. One of the major weaknesses in the similar game evolve which i only played an alpha, is the fact that every mod is the same 1vs4 and this got me bored very quick. So i hope the ame will improve further because the setting is really interesting. I

What a joke, firing guns underwater. Bet they think the easter bunny is real, or pigs really do have wings and can fly. Don't quit your day jobs. .Guess this is their first game or a late April Fools day

These guys were looking for UNPAID 3D artist on the UDK forums. They deleted the thread probably long ago to hide their cheap skate, sleazy asses. Seriously not even a offer of royalties, I'm guessing they found the freebie idiots, hope they enjoy their name in the credits of a **** game whilst you guy's cash in on the steam sales. Have a free bad review on the house, and stick it in your credits lol.

SummaryDepth is an indie game being developed with unreal engine 3 by several of the original minds behind 'Killing Floor'. Play as a shark or a diver in a dark aquatic world and overcome your enemies by employing cunning, teamwork, and stealth.
