In order to make a successful and enjoyable RPG you have to allow the player to have a lot of freedom and you also have to allow the player to be able to chop and change what they want, and unfortunately Demons Age doesn’t allow you to do that. I was amazed that the game doesn’t allow you to play any part in the level up system and this will instantly put a lot of people off. Another problem the game has is that it doesn’t allow you to create your own character and this is a big problem because it means that you won’t get invested in the game as much. This is a shame because the story in the game is actually pretty decent, but the lack of freedom ends up taking away from the good story. The game does however allow you freedom when exploring and there are some interesting things to discover, but unfortunately there’s not enough to discover. The loot in the game is pretty sparse and I was very disappointed to learn that a defeated enemy doesn’t drop any loot for you. On the tactical front the game does a pretty decent job and I actually had quite a bit of fun when in battle, and I think I would have had even more fun if it wasn’t for the very annoying camera. The presentation side of the game is severely lacking in a number of areas and that does make things less interesting. Visually the game is very bland and the accompanying sound design is not much better, which ultimately means there is a distinct lack of anything being memorable here. At the end of the day there are lot’s of RPG game’s that are far superior than Demons Age and it’s really hard to recommend that you waste your precious time with this game. Demons Age just gets too many things wrong and it never seems to recover from its restrictions and very good RPG’s aren’t meant to have many restrictions and that’s why they are successful and have big followings. If you want my advice you will stay clear of this game especially because the price is way too high and doesn’t reflect value for money.
