The devs clearly understand game design on every level. The 8 bit graphics and sound are so charming and nostalgic. The music is quite catchy, reminiscent of shovel knight. The gameplay is quite satisfying as you memorizing the locations of power ups and discover all the little secrets, not to mention filling in the bestiary. The humor is infrequent but funny when it tries, I have no idea how this game is rated T as at the end you have to shoot satan in his huge demon chub to kill him. Yes, that's how you beat the final boss. I really like there are no continues, forcing players to play shmups the way they are intended. You don't truly appreciate the design of a shmup until you 1CC it.

Really fun retro shooter with a lot to offer. Unforgiving with bullet hell, but if you give this a chance you'll find lots of secrets and cool things. Makes me feel like a kid again exploring a new game without anyone holding my hand.
