Capcom Fighting Collection Vol. 2 boasts an impressive roster of games and pairs well with the first collection for a varied, comprehensive trip through Capcom’s fighting game history, and even then, it doesn’t feel like the journey through time is over yet.

If you are a fighting game fan, have friends who are fighting game fans, or just want a deep dive into one of the best parts of fighting game history, then Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is a clear winner. It’s worth buying even if you ignore the underwhelming curio that is Capcom Fighting Evolution, which I completely neglected to mention here. There are at least three distinct games here that different audiences will return to time after time for multiplayer sessions, and everything else is just a bonus. Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is a firm reminder that Capcom and SNK have developed some of the best fighting games of all time, and with this compilation, you don’t even need to be an old-head to know it’s true.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is easily my favorite of the Capcom bundles so far, and a big part of that is simply the game selection. This legitimately feels like there’s something for everyone and it all plays in solid form with a bevy of quality-of-life features. There are small things I wish weren’t changed in ways that can’t be adjusted, but it doesn’t keep the majority of this collection from being an absolute feast of Capcom’s most delightful arcade titles. Whether you’ve played these games before or are cracking them open for the first time, you’re in for a treat, especially if you bring some friends along.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 delivers a heavy dose of nostalgia for anyone who played on the Dreamcast in the early 2000s, featuring excellent ports of both Capcom vs. SNK games that fans have been asking to see re-released for years. Everything else in the collection is a great bonus that will surely delight both old-school veterans and new fighting game fans alike.

Yet another timely reminder that Capcom has been the king of its craft for decades now, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 superbly digs into the Dreamcast era of the Japanese publisher’s iconic output. While its commitment to arcade conversions means you’re missing some of the single player modes from the various included titles’ home console ports, there’s simply so much quality content on offer here that it’s hard to complain, with the likes of Capcom vs. SNK 2 and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper having legitimate claims at being some of the greatest fighters ever made.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is a fantastic revival of classic fighting games with modern training tools and online features, but it falls just short of perfection due to the controversial CvS2 EO ranked standard and lack of cross-play.

From all-time classics to underrated gems, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is robust enough to not only please avid Capcom fans but also newer players who want to experience some of the company’s older games.

This collection of fighting games sits comfortably with Capcom's other compilations as a similarly high quality collection of some truly classic games that were previously stuck on old hardware. For some of these games, it might be the beginning of a new era for their compeititve scene. For others, the mere fact they're here is enough as a curio. Immaculate emulation and slick new features make this the definitive way to play with friends and share the experience.

This collection offers a diverse mix of classic 2D and 3D fighting games from the late 90s and early 2000s, with standout titles like Capcom vs. SNK 2 and Power Stone 2 delivering lasting fun and depth. Despite some unevenness in game quality and dated graphics in certain entries, the extensive customization options and improvements like enhanced resolution make it a worthwhile package for both nostalgic players and newcomers.

The Capcom Fighting Collection 2 does its job, breathing new life into eight great games that some have forgotten, and many more have never experienced. While there's room for improvement in the collection's presentation and content, fans will have a blast enjoying and rediscovering these classics.
