Astro’s Playroom Jumping On The Nostalgia Train I’d never expected that an intro to a new gaming console could be this much fun. Instead of just showing off the new tricks your new device can do, it takes you on a journey back to the beginning of the PlayStation days. So as someone who played since the PS1 and never skipped a generation, this was obviously a blast to play trough. Kid Friendly The gameplay is simple and easy to learn, even my oldest child of 8 years old quickly got the hang of it. It succeeds very well in showing you the new features like the haptic feedback, it even does it so well that it’s a bit of a shame not more games utilize this feature. Also the graphics are very nice and colorful. A Great Appetizer I didn’t bother with this when I first got my PS5, I didn’t even know this was a thing. It was only after I got into trophy hunting some years ago that this caught my eye and so I gave it a shot myself. I still blame me for not playing this earlier since I had so much fun with it. It’s also short enough that you can easily play this before jumping into the game you wanted to play first on your new console. Collecting References There are 4 ‘worlds’ with each having 4 levels and a final boss level and even though the gameplay remains the same, it still felt fun to look for every reference and collect every collectible. I even encountered some stuff I didn’t know existed. Conclusion I had fun, my kid had fun so I can really recommend to give this game a go. No matter your gaming preference or age. At first I thought I would not like this game, because it is mainly for the kids right? I was wrong, this game was easy, short and really fun. I am really glad I played it!!

I originally started Astro’s Playroom back in 2021 when I first got my PS5. At the time, I didn’t have high expectations. it was a free game, and honestly, it didn’t grab me during my first run through SSD Speedway.Fast forward to 2026, I decided to give it another shot… and I’m glad I did.This game completely surprised **** biggest thing that stood out is how well it showcases the DualSense controller. The haptic feedback is insane, and the way the game uses motion controls feels smooth and intentional. It’s not gimmicky, it actually enhances the experience.This is a game for anyone who just wants to have fun. If you’re looking for a sweaty, competitive experience, this isn’t that. This is relaxed, colorful, creative gameplay that introduces you to the PS5 while paying homage to previous PlayStation systems, accessories, and iconic characters.From start to finish, the game is FUN.I found myself smiling every time I entered a new level or discovered a hidden puzzle piece or artifact. My favorite part was easily the monkey suit. Climbing with it felt amazing. It was also one of the more frustrating parts at times, but even then, I was still enjoying **** presentation is **** music had me nodding along the entire time, and every level felt unique and creative. The jungle section stood out the most to me in terms of creativity, while Cool Springs was probably the most visually **** terms of difficulty, it’s very approachable. I’m not usually a completionist, but this is one of those games where I might actually go back and collect everything just because it’s that enjoyable.Performance-wise, I didn’t notice any bugs or frame drops at all.More than anything, this game made me appreciate the DualSense controller in a way I didn’t think was possible. Astro's Playroom is an excellent game and a great showcase for the PS5 features. The gameplay is very fun, the level design is fantastic, and the game makes excellent use of the DualSense controller features. Even though it is short, the experience remains extremely enjoyable from beginning to end. I completed the platinum trophy and 100% in around 6 hours on PS5.

This could have been a $50 game, yet, it's free!I loved it, stunning attention to detail, and use of PS5's quirks. One or two of the nostalgic PlayStation bits made me tear up. One day, I hope they implement local co-op into an Astro game. This one is a must-play for PS5 owners.

The main purpose of this game is to learn more about the dual sense controller, however the game is overall very fun. Simple game, more like an extended demo.

Astro’s Playroom Origin Story After some rough years and sorting everything out, I finally took the time to catalog my entire gaming backlog ranging from PlayStationS1 until PlayStation5 and PC. My goal is to complete every game at my own pace and if possible to beat the game for 100%. After completing a game I plan to write a small review about my personal thoughts. And what better way to start this journey then with Astro’s Playroom. Pleasant Surprise This is a game that comes pre-installed on every PlayStation 5 system but I immediately deleted it when I first got mine without really knowing what it was. Only after finding out that there is a community dedicated to trophy hunting, I found out about this game and decided to give it a try and it was a very pleasant surprise! Since then I’ve completed this game around 10 times already. Glorified Tech Demo As mentioned before, I started my gaming days back on the PlayStation 1 and haven’t missed a single Sony console up until now and this ‘tech demo’ is filled with references to those great times, so you can be sure that it was a trip down memory lane whilst finding out what the PlayStation 5 has to offer. I really enjoyed this game as a 30 year old but my eldest daughter of 8 years old also had fun playing it and my youngest daughter of 4 loved watching it. So I can say this is a game that can be played and enjoyed by everyone, no matter the preference in gaming genre. Buttery Smooth The controls feels very smooth and simple. There’s no complexity to it apart from the motion controls which is something I never liked. Besides the easy to master controls, the game is also a pleasure to look at and they really took the most out of the haptic feedback which is a feature that is severely underused if you ask me because it can really add to the enjoyment and immersion if done right. Conclusion The game is simple, short and fun. It isn’t a full fledged game but it is more then a tech demo to me. Enjoyed every moment of it, loved watching my kids play it and the references to some of my favorite games from my youth and consoles were a blast! This is something everybody should try if they own a PlayStation 5! Astro’s Playroom Trophy Hunting This is a game which come’s pre-installed on every PS5 system and is something everyone should try out, no matter your preference for games. Sadly it took me awhile to notice just how great this game is. When I first got my PS5 I just deleted it and it was only after getting into trophy hunting via YouTube that I knew of its existence. Origin Story I’ve had some pretty rough years behind me but something that always helped me going was playing games. I started on PS1 and was lucky enough to experience every console after that up until now. The fact that I started gaming on the PS1 is something that really helps with enjoying Astro’s Playroom even more since it’s filled with references and nods to earlier popular PlayStation titles and consoles. Something which I really enjoy! Fun for the entire family! The gameplay is simple and basically just serves as a tech demo for what the PS5 has to offer but at the same time it’s really fun to look for every hidden detail and reference this game has to offer. Even my 2 kids always stayed in to room whilst I was playing this, my eldest daughter even played it herself. No matter your age, this is a game (demo) that can be enjoyed by everyone. The Ultimate Goal I made a Excel file with my entire gaming backlog and my goal is to complete it one day and as a side quest to obtain every possible trophy/achievement possible. I made an entire new account just for this and plan to record my opinions on every single game once I completed them. If you want to follow me along for this journey then you are more then welcome! Astro's Playroom is one of the best free games one can play, and the best title to first beat when you first get your hands on a PS5. The haptics, audio, triggers, and all controller features are awesomely implemented and make for a unique experience, especially if it is, as I said, the first thing you touch on the PS5. Thanks to them, I found myself grinning all the time while playing it, astonished at how I could feel everything in the game in my hands. The level design, the references, the gimmicks are great, and everything makes it a must-play title for any newcomer to the PS5.

Astro's Playroom oynaması son derece keyifli tatlı, cıvık ve munzur bir oyun! Bölüm tasarımları oldukça güzel. Her kısımda bir ayrıntı var. Direkt bulmacayı çöz sonra ne yaparsan yap kafası değil kesinlikle. Kendimi sık sık oyunda ilerlemeyi kesip çevreyi incelerken buldum. Bulmacalar ise ne zor ne kolay, ortası. Zaten bu oyun PS5 ile beraber geliyor ve asıl amacı Dualsense kontrolcüsünün teknolojilerini yeni oyunculara tanıtmak. Yani bütün oyuncu kitlesine hitap etmesi gerekiyor. Dualsense'den bahsetmişken oyun, oyunculara kumandayı çok güzel bir şekilde tanıtıyor ve öğretiyor.

Astro's Playroom è un gioco davvero piacevole per PlayStation 5. L’ho platinato in circa 8 ore, un tempo giusto per esplorare tutti i collezionabili e goderlo fino alla fine. L’esperienza è rilassante e divertente, con mondi colorati e pieni di piccoli dettagli che rendono il gioco interessante dall’inizio alla fine. La grafica è ottima e il gameplay semplice ma coinvolgente, perfetto per scoprire come funziona la console e la sua storia.

When I first booted up the game, I was pleasantly surprised for a game I thought would be a quick tutorial. I loved the levels they had to offer, the game was super interactive and even after getting their Platinum Trophy, I still came back to try and beat my speedrun time. In summary: If you love platformers and playing as cute little characters this game is for you- Easy 10/10

Astro’s Playroom Prologue I don’t think there is a better way to start my long journey of trying to complete every game I own. Aside from wanting to complete my gaming backlog, I’m also an avid trophy hunter and since the first trophy I popped is called ‘1 down, lots more to go!’ It couldn’t be more fitting. Train Down Memory Lane This game is supposed to be a tech demo in demonstrating the basic features your new PS5 has to offer but to me this game is much more then that. Being blessed by the fact my ‘gaming career’ started with the PS1 up until now, this game is filled with references to previous console generations and familiar characters. It is a trip down memory lane from beginning to end unlocking many fond memories I have. Trophy Hunting Has It’s Perks I don’t normally play platformer games and to be honest I just skipped this game when I got my PS5. But one day I got introduced to trophy hunting and this seemed a popular game among trophy hunters so I gave it a shot and damn I was so glad I did! The game is very fun to play and delivers a chill time. Quality Time With The Kids It can be enjoyed by adults like myself but my daughter of 8 years old loves watching me play it and even play it herself. The gameplay is fun and easy to learn, the visuals are very good and the music fits the game perfect. Conclusion I can really recommend this to anyone who owns a PS5 no matter your preference or age! This game is more than a game, its a brilliant strategy by Sony to bundle together a great fun platformer, a tech showcase for the awesome DuelSense 5 and an efficient marketing tool for Astro Bot, but specially, a reward to longtime fans to celebrate their new console looking back trough all Sony's glorious (and not so glorious) Playstation history! Sony delivered one of the biggest W in gaming history with this masterpiece!

While playing this game/demo I can feel all the love and hard work that the developers put into it - the little details like the idle animation or the animations of the other bots around you create such a great atmosphere. I had a big smile while playing the game. The dualsense controller's abilities are incorporated amazingly in the game - the sound from walking or hovering, the vibration when using the minigun and the pressure when clicking the trigger buttons when in an vehicle really make the experience way better.

The game itself is enjoyable, featuring four distinct levels that offer unique gameplay experiences via powerups. Players can glide into the air, transform into a cannonball and roll their way to the finish line, ride into a spaceship to navigate space, become a robot monkey, and do some mountain climbing. Additionally, players can transform into a robot frog, allowing them to jump into action. Astro’s Playroom also includes collectibles that represent the history of PlayStation, spanning from the PS1 era to the PS5 era. These collectibles add an extra layer of depth and nostalgia to the game. Astro’s Playroom Long Journey Ahead After having a rough year in my rear view, I decided to buy a PS5 Pro and tackle my ever growing backlog from zero. This gave me a goal and the enjoyment of reliving some of my favorite games again whilst being able to go for the platinum since this is something I love doing. Trophy Hunters So what better way to start this immense journey by playing the pre-installed game on the PS5, Astro’s Playroom. When I got my first PS5, I never bothered to take a look at this and to be honest, I didn’t even know what it was. It was only when I started to learn that there is something like a community who loves trophy hunting that this ‘demo’ got my interest. Walk In A Museum So this was not the first time I completed this game but I still loved the experience. It so cool to look for all the old consoles, gadgets and references to certain games. Especially for someone like me who started my gaming days back on the PS1. This game is great introduction to the PS5 and what Sony has already given us. It implements the new features in an perfect way and kind of makes you wonder why not more gaming studios try to implement these things like haptic feedback in a better way. Do You Platform Much? This is also one of my first platformer games I played since I mostly play action or RPG games. Yet this was a very fun game and made me consider buying more platform games. The game is also something for every age since I had a lot of fun but also my daughters of 7 and 3 years old love to watch me play it. Conclusion In the end I’d recommend this game to anyone who has a PS5 in their possession, even if it’s your first console or your fifth. No matter where you come from, you will definitely enjoy this game and I can highly recommend It to any age!
