A masterpiece. This game single handedly brought me out of gaming retirement after 25 years.

Pure joy, perfect platformer, a better Mario than most Marios. Incredibly good for a bundled game, a great showcase of the Dualsense controller and trip down Playstation memory lane.

A revolutionary game at the time, with a legendary story and music. Unfortunately this generation of early 3D has aged very poorly, in 2026 new players should NOT be playing this instead of the Remakes or before them, as they are often advised. The story is worth it, but better discovered in Remake / Rebirth and soon Revelation. The OG is an overrated historical curiosity.

This is how you want to play FF7 in 2026 : amazing production values, cutscenes, music, voice acting. It's very hard to go back to playing OG's awkwardly bad early 3D after this (as revolutionary as it was at the time). In fact, this Remake series is probably what the developers would have dreamt of releasing in 1997 if the technology had been there. A triumph.
