I enjoyed my time with Edgeworth, but it's the weakest entry in the series. [Issue#203, p.95]

Edgeworth is always good company, but what this spin-off fixes in execution, it loses in melodrama. Still, nice to have the gang back. [Feb 2010, p.58]

Gently tweaks the mechanics and upholds the writing smarts. Needs more menace, though. [Mar 2010, p.77]

I won't bother explaining cases in detail, because it would be way too long, but the game mischaracterize the trilogy characters and make them out of character in order to turn them into comedic relief character. Mei completely glosses over the crime of her father and wipe Reiji for no reason and Itonokogiri is dumbed down into oblivion. The two first case weren't that bad for a post-trilogy game and were better than GS4 and GK2's cases. However, from case 3 and onwards it gets worse and introduces lame characters. Mikumo is discount Mayoi who have no characters outside stealing jokes and her arc is boring. Shiryū is one of the most superficial character and is antagonistic towards prosecutors for no actual reasons, the detective and the dead prosecutor were uninteresting and the game try so to present the latter one as intimidating forgetting his design. The main villain was underdeveloped, but still believable unlike the ones from GS4 and GK2 who rely on the stupidity of the protagonist and therefore the less **** post-trilogy villain.

Me gusta en su gran mayoría, pero tiene detalles algo más tediosos que las entregas originales, o al menos eso noté, aun así, gran spin off para los fans de la franquicia

Not only has it established a winning cast of characters, and a formula for fun-packed gameplay, its latest title, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth shows that there are still lots of ways both cast and formula can be effectively improved and expanded upon.

An interesting plot full of twists and well played, colorful characters make this game one of the best chapters of the saga, and not one you want to miss.

Loved playing from Miles Edgeworth's perspective, with unique way of solving things with his deduction skills. The new characters are truly memorable, the story is just as good as the other Phoenix Wright games if not better. The trials get you hooked like always. Nothing much to say except its a true classic. And great sountrack.

Deserves much more attention than it will ever receive.

It's a bit ironic, to me, that I'm now complaining about an Ace Attorney game being too easy, but hey -- given how arcane the adventure games of old often got, I'm glad this is the worst thing I can say about AAI: ME.

This new title in the lawyer drama series of Capcom doesn't disappoint at all, although it doesn't bring many new features.

The plot lacks the slight unpleasantness that tinted Wright's best cases. There are still killers, but their motivations are more straightforward. [Mar 2010, p.98]

I was hesitant to give this game such a high score, and hell it probably doesn't even deserve it, but I simply cannot stress this enough - this is THE best game in the entire ace attorney series, hands down. The best set of characters (Edgeworth!), arguably the best music, much more interactive than the others (actual point and click gameplay, Logic, etc.) and on top of that, funny and witty as hell (not going to give examples to keep this spoiler-free). Cons? Well, the last case drags like hell, but that's about it. Must buy for any DS owner.

Ace Attorney Investigations was a fun game but I didn't enjoy it as near as much as the main games of the series. The pacing of the cases wasn't as good as an AA case. The plot was not that interesting as well. The first 3 cases weren't that engaging and you didn't care about the characters of those cases that much. Some of them were good, at best, but that's all. As for the last 2 cases, they are more interesting because they are more plot related, they have some great twists, and you also get to meet way more interesting and engaging characters in Them. Still though, the last case wasn't as engaging as any other AA in the series. As for the main characters of the game, which is Edgeworth, Von Karma and Lang, I have to say that I loved those characters. They are great personalities. Specifically, Edgeworth (one of my favorite characters in the series), which if he wasn't in the game, the rating would drop. Also, although the amazing AA sense of humor is there, it's still a bit lacking comparing to Phoenix Wright games. The artstyle and the soundtrack are very good though. To sum up, this game is good. The pacing isn't that good, neither the cases are generally that good - except the last two with some interesting twists - the main characters are great as well, and, in general, gives that AA feel, but not as near in the same level as any other game in the series. I do recommend it, but if you are not a huge fan of the series, you can skip it.

Ace Attorney Investigations is a great spin off. Totally beats Apollo Justice, and I’d say it’s on par with Justice for All as a whole. The new characters Kay and Lang are awesome additions as well. Logic is rather tacked on and the endings to the cases tend to drag a bit, but it’s a fun ride.

It's not systematically bad, but it has a pretty boring villain and a cliched ending.

This game should have been better, and while cases 2 and 4 are still enjoyable, they're really nothing to write home about. The writing in this game is incredibly bad outside of the aforementioned cases 2 and 4, a bit of a problem in a visual novel. I can not stress enough how much of a chore cases 3 and 5 are, they S U C K. thankfully, the sequel was much better, but this is easily the worst game in the series.
