“House of the Dragon” feels even more confident in itself, perhaps due to the fact that it is no longer saddled with so much jostling of these pieces around the chessboard.

The ways in which “Half Man” acutely understands that dynamic make it a must-see series even in spite of a few misgivings along the way, ultimately presenting itself as a singular experience that sticks with you.

If the series can build on the momentum it builds here, “Rooster” may hit a rarified air typically reserved for the best shows, one which feels like an accurate portrait of the ups and downs of life, rendered in both comedic and tragic clarity. That, combined with a tremendously compelling central dynamic thanks to the charm and charisma of Carell and Clive, makes the trip back to school well worth it.

The sophomore outing of “Fallout” might have a few shaky rounds to start the evening out, but across the latter portion of its season, it’s poised to go on quite the run before it leaves the table for the night. In short, Season 2 is well worth the ante up.

Sincere, strange, and funnier than I could have ever anticipated. .... Due to the talent involved, it transcends its source material and becomes something much more special as a result. Forgive the overworked sports metaphor: “Chad Powers” is a winner.

When “Squid Game” digs into its intense moments, the show proves it’s still more than capable of rendering a tragically compelling story that manages to entertain and have you emotionally invested in its characters.

The brilliance — and comedy — of Season 4’s nine episodes (all of which were provided for critics) lies in how McBride begins to challenge each of the kids on the possibility of Eli moving on and finally finding someone new.

Despite the grizzly murder of it all — and some of the murders are quite gnarly this time — there’s a hilarious breeziness to it all that makes “Poker Face” so good.

It’s unsurprising the show feels like it’s in the midst of a transitional season as it figures out how to balance so many disparate thoughts, ideas, and characters — a sensation exacerbated by the fact so much is riding on the outcome of the remaining episodes.
