It’s perhaps not his finest outing — the story seems to lose its way a bit in the final act — but even second-rate Kore-eda is still a fascinating journey.

The Dink is the sort of loosely tossed-together comedy in which you suspect the actors are ad-libbing half of their lines, but it works. The cast is full of funny people in supporting roles, popping up like bouncing tennis balls.

If you lean back and surrender yourself to this “Odyssey,” it’s a remarkable journey, and Damon’s performance finds some welcome transcendence at the end.

Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass is as unwieldy as its title, but it definitely brings laughter — and that, in any season, is a gift.

You might not want to invite any of this quartet over to your own apartment, but they’re good company on screen.

What makes the movie sing, as with its predecessors, is its sweetness. Five movies in, it’s still poignant to think about toys having a relationship with their children, loving them and trying to keep them safe in an ever-changing world.

Disclosure Day isn’t really about the action, exemplary as it is; it’s about connection — human and otherwise — and about Margaret and Daniel slowly realizing what they know, and how they can use that knowledge for good.

Funny, occasionally raunchy and dressed in a deliciously rainbow-bright array of costumes, Boots Riley’s fizzy caper “I Love Boosters” is just the thing for summer.
